Good to see you joining in with us Chris 👍
We chatted a bit after our Event 2 match-up, and I seem to remember recommending the WRS to you.
You're in great company now, and you WILL get faster as the weeks go by.
Prove your speed in this competition, and you will climb up the leagues.
Good luck 👍

Cheers Phil.

Indeed you did recommend the WRS...thanks :). I had intended to start not long after our Event 2 race, but I kept finding myself doing online races instead. Still...better late than never 👍

I'm going to give this a lengthy run again today but to be honest I can't see any major improvements...but you never know!

This car and I just don't seem to get along, haha

Ah well.

I guess I will have to shoulder the heavy burden of humiliation and submit a laptime even though I will be beaten by not only Div 3 racers but even Div 4 guys... :dopey:

The strange thing is that I set my fastest time on the third lap of my very first session. After that I have done maybe 30 laps in all (I could'nt stand more than ten at a time before feeling sick) without ever being near to the very pitiful time I will now...

Submitted with the times on the board. Had another go, no consistency from me. I'm happy with T2 all the time, which is unusual for me at Suzuka, T1 though, wow, the 1'01.544 felt good. Very hard to get this beast through those turns effectively.

I have to say I know exactly how you feel.

Throughout this WRS I have done a total of four hours, and completed no more than 12 laps. A really disgustingly poor percentage, I have made so many errors on so many laps. I know exactly how to go fast around this circuit but my execution has been pitiful to the point where I considered submitting on Friday.

Just like you Thomas, my best lap was done in the first 5 minutes of my first proper session out of the total 4 hours. Having done the T2 of 1'50.9 that early I though "Right, I have a real chance this week" at what used to be my best circuit. How wrong I was, how very wrong.

Last night's "session" was one of the most frustrating GT experiences I can ever remember, topping even Eiger in the F430 2 weeks back. At leats that ended with a laptime I was really proud of.

One last try today and then I'm throwing in the hat.

My best T1 so far is 1'00.601, but nothing came of that lap. Maybe it's because my first proper session was on Friday for this combo or what, I don't know, but it's driven me nuts.

All the best
Maz

Last two days i've been trying with manual transmission. It makes the car a little more easy to drive, but still I couldn't better my time.

i've had enough of this combo, so I'm submitting my crap-lap and going for last place :sly:

I guess I picked a good week to be out of town and not run. From all the comments I've saved myself some frustration! :scared:

hope to be back at it come Tuesday! Good luck all. 👍

I haven't been back to this since combo since my last update early in the week .. the usual predicament were work is taking up more time than normal due to everybody being off work :( another silly 9 hour shift starting from 5pm tonight

I know I had a bit left to get but will submit my lap tomorrow no matter what 👍
GL to all in the results

Hi ppl,

My splits after +40 laps run :scared: (whit Logitech Driving Force GT):

T1 - 1'01,256
T2 - 1'51,892

Good Laps 👍

Hi All,

Well after another 20 lap stint at this I have some new splits:

T1 1:01.538
T2 1:52.514

I set that on the 4th lap and every lap after that, the more I tried to go faster the more I made mistakes, so I think this is it for me.

Will have a few more goes tomorrow, but I think this is the time I'll be submitting

Submitted with my current splits, good luck to all other competitors 👍

Man am I slow compared to some of the splits around here :)
T1: 1'02'896
T2: 1'54'136

Submitted my time 👍
Good luck !

Had a final go at this one tonight:

T1: 1'00.718
T2: 1'50.975

Time submitted.

Not my best T1 by about .150, but I am finally figuring out Spoon (I think).
Had a poor run out of the hairpin, probably lost .2 to .3 there. All told, if I could string my best sector times together, I would probably have a better lap by about .4 to .5, but I don't think I want to spend any more time on this one  I wanted to get what I hope is a fairly representative D2 time, and I think I did. Great times by Paulie, Fuzzy, MJH and others 👍

Only had two go's and only 15 laps in total because I haven't had any time this week. Too much school homework.:( I think i'll just be submitting with my current poor lap.

Still better than mine!:dopey:

Messaged you on your profile visitor's page mate 👍

In other news, the DB9 can go to hell. I'm going to sell this car and never use it in any online event again.

Submitted.

Submitted. Really didn't like this combo, even though I only got in 15 laps. To tell you the truth I was very happy with my T1 and T2 but I made a hash of T3. So lost most of the advantage I had. Oh well.:indiff:

Good luck in the results everyone.

No way, this car is awesome with TLD underneath it.:sly:

Hi Poentang

Welcome to GTP and to the WRS.
A lot of good advice has been given already, so I'll just add my little bit.

You said you were struggling to update your PS3. If you are not on Spec III, you probably wont match the times being posted here, as Spec III contains a physics update.

As for the DFGT, I also have one and the only advice I can give is to practice, practice, practice. You will get faster as you get more comfortable with it.

As for this week's car and track, I found that you have to be very gentle with the throttle. Brake early for turns and try accelerating as you pass the apex. Also, if you use manual gears, dont rev the car into the red, as it will make you slower. For this car, the saying 'Slow in, fast out' really applies when it comes to cornering.

I hope this helps you. Keep at it. The WRS is a great place to learn to become faster if you stick with it.

EDIT: I gave this combo another go this morning and could'nt improve, so I've submitted with my current splits. Looks like Paulie has the Div 2 win in the bag this week. Those are truly amazing splits Paulie. 👍

Thanx for the advice. I will get my update done and then we will see. Already are getting the hand of the DVGT. But need alot more practice.

:dopey:

Please don't, the car is a great looker and properly setup it will give you much fun in another combo 👍

Nice to have someone from Iceland around, a country I was happy enough to visit once for a week or two. And check my splits, you're not that slow :D

Board updated for the final time this week. I included my own splits of

1'03.668
1'55.493

which I achieved after only a few laps because there wasn't much time this week.

Done my final run this morning and this is a good as I'm gonna get in the Db9...

T1 1:01.395
T2 1:52.297

And a reasonable third sector 👍

Going to submit this one

Thank you very much, nice to see someone down there with me :D always fun to have someone around you that you can benchmark yourself against 👍

Don't worry mate, you'll find me near to you too :D

So, finally got my act together to partake in a bit of WRS fun, at least that was what I was hoping.

'...no Mr Bond, I expect your car to diet.'

Brother is that thing overweight. Resulting sector times:

T1 1:02.428
T2 1:53.542

Am going to submit before I gouge my eyes out with a toothpick in frustration. :ill:

I ran for 30 mins today and had lots of 1'00.3 T1's, only to bin it somewhere later in the lap. Not going to spend hour upon hour chasing those last two tenths.

Submitted.

Not had much time this week im afraid - so overall time is perhaps slightly slower than it would have been had I put in the time and effort. Hay-Ho - Time Submitted

Crikey, cockney rhyming slang has changed since I last visited the East End.
