(outside of track)

You didnt make it thru the first chicane clean. You know the hill you jump off of? Well if you keep trying you will get a pause at 4.192 seconds into the lap and you will see your outside front tires approximatly 1/4 a wheels width inside of the rumble.

I say without a doubt dirty but perhaps you would like to check and see for sure yourself whether you agree before I red flag you or get another opinion from someone. I dont know what the official way of handling this should be alls I know is Ive only reviewed 3 replays now and 2 were dirty.

I hope everyone just assumes guys didnt make it thru the first chicane clean and tries extremly hard to find it when verifying laps and the difficulty of finding it is such that a 2 person review of these laps may be a good idea this TT. Two reviews means no doubt clean where as one leaves a big question in my mind on the authenticity of the results this TT.

Hi Jack, I just reviewed my replay, you're correct. My right front is inside the rubble strip. I missed that one when I reviewed it. Good catch, the rules are the rules, Red Flag for me on this one.

Good job for you this week.👍

Thank you very much and I am sorry to have to be their bearer of bad news yet again to the D4 podium leader.

Dont let this stop you from trying to utilise as much of the tracks width as you can when you corner especially on entries. You dont always use all the track out in out but most times its a racing rule thats good to try and follow because it will let you carry more speed thru a corner if done properly.

You did it alot on your replay perfectly but sometimes you entered in the middle of the road more. I noticed that to on your Denso replay. Sometimes you leave about 2 or 3 feet of space between your outside tires and the edge of the road try to utilise it as much as possible.

Then hyper scrutinise your replay.:)

Thank you very much and I am sorry to have to be their bearer of bad news

No worries, I should have looked closer at turn 1. I was more concerned with the last left on the downhill before the main straight, I checked that closely because I thought it was a close call.

On to the Nurburgring.

Unfortunate MilleRSVR, you were still a lot faster than me. Hopefully this weeks combo we'll be closer 👍

Cheers mate.

Bad karma or something for me this TT.

I'll try to keep it on the track at the Nurburgring, and check my replays more closely. The Ring gives me fits sometimes, I've already had enough of it today.:scared:

Sorry for the noob question but [...] what is the equation at the bottom (weight, squeeze and scoot.)?

Only Vaxen knows

:mischievous:

Weight: How much this race counts relative to other races when calculating handicap. This number is almost always 1, but has been reduced to 0.5 twice (week 1, where a patch mid-week changed physics slightly, and week 10 where we had a dirt rally), and the qualifier has a weight of 2.

Squeeze: Adjusts the gap is between the divisional handicap times. A low squeeze (near 1) means there's a large gap (usually a technical course), while a high squeeze (2 or higher) means there's a small gap (usually a relatively easy course).

Scoot: Another adjustment to the handicap time, but this moves the zero par time up or down by the amount listed. This is also done to help fit the data to the base handicaps. A negative value means that the whole field outperformed the course, so the par was moved down. A positive value means that the whole field underperformed, so the handicap was moved up.

These adjustments are put in place to help ensure that we don't get wonky handicap results, and that your handicap for a given race is relative to your own performance and those of the others on the course during that week.

Congratz to Hydro, for doing the honorable thing and throwing out a "borderline" lap and still coming back to win the gold. 👍

Thanks, I really didn't want to abandon that lap, as it was my best, but only by a very, very small margin. It did however inspire me to keep trying.

That being said, how's this for odd :odd: ?

My best lap was a .461.
But I'm sure I clipped the wall going into the tunnel after the back stretch, so I didn't post splits, and carried on. 👎
The photo I posted of the lap I abandoned for the really, really close call was a .461 - exactly the same. Splits were never posted. 👎
My Second best lap was a .524, and it became my best lap by default.
I tied that lap also.
The splits I posted yesterday afternoon that jumped me up the leaderboard were from a lap that ended in.... .524! - The third time I had run that time exactly,
and as it turns out, .001 slower than T13R's lap, which would have been 2nd overall (div3).

Gave it one last shot with about 1 hour to go, hoping for a .4xx
With exactly 21 minutes to go to the deadline, I got a .489, saved, checked, double checked, and submitted at :53. Fetchy replied at :59 that my time was accepted. That's close! :D :dopey:

I didn't update splits, as there really was no point.
Final splits are:
23.585
29.092 =.3 slower than posted T1/T2 splits
31.109
20.703

Disappointing start, but a better finish :sly:

So 2 x .461, 3 x .524, and on Wednesday, I ran the "Star in a reasonably priced car" WRS event against some friends and ran 2 laps of 103.606 (with n2 tires). Creepy week...

Here's my replay: NTSC
Close call on the second to last turn, but it's clean by 1/2 a wheel, as opposed to 1/2 a centimetre

Congratulations to all the podiums, and for D3 doing a great D2 impression!
And to Dan - wow. 👍

Thanks to Vax and Carlos for the attempts to explain, it probably does make sense but my tiy brain doesn't work so well in the evenings so I'll just take your word for it, I like to judge myself on the non-handicapped results more anyway, to get a representaion of true pace.
Thanks again guys.

Madbeater and Madmax I have downloaded your replays and am off to check them now, not sure if I have done it correctly so may be some time.....

Here's my PAL replay.

Cheers

Stephen

Great lap! And Congrats on your Division win 👍
I wish I'd seen your 2nd turn last week :sly:

I think this is my replay...though for some reason it's number 002, where I thought it was 25....I do hope it's the right file. The date is today and it's obviously the only one I have exported today, so it ought to be....

Anyway...enjoy. There's a close call in T3 that you'll want to look at, but otherwise not much drama - try not to laugh too hard at my T1 now.

Replay;)

Complete splits:

T1 23.179
T2 28.775
T3 30.647
T4 20.580

Great lap Dan 👍

This is the first time I have downloaded your replay to watch, like an idiot automatically assumed you were not PAL region. After watching it though I can see how I lost .2 to you in T1, I just didn't use enough track on exit of the chicane. Your T3 is amazing, great lap:tup:

Thank you for reviewing my lap Hydro. Have you watched DHollands replay he posted in this thread? He took it alot differently so maybe I was wrong...Idk when it worked it worked awesome. That replay is only ok how I took it not the best I ever did. Only my T3 was the best I could do in any sector. The rest of the corners in the other sectors werent my best but I will be darned if I could ever beat that lap! lol

Congratulations everyone, great times. Nice D2 win jack 👍

I had fun the first two sessions but just lost interest and starting testing a bunch of cars in the tuner forum shootouts and also had a go at some online tuning, so I apologize that I didn't submit a time. Let's just say I would've been last in D1 with what I had, could never figure out a good line through T2. :dunce:

Good points Jack 👍...

There is a lot of discussion about the first mound/chicane and also grass/curbing at the end of the lap in T4, but did anyone else have any "subtle" wall encounters after turn 3? (up hill left hander, right after T1 line). I notice DHolland is real close there too (as you have to be to use every inch on exit) and I threw out at least one real good lap due to believing I "kissed" the wall there and not wanting to take a chance. It's strange as those walls are basically silent, maybe because they are dirt. I remember doing a few tests and ramming them head on hard and they were still silent, but had affect on the car regardless. I have a new monitor/speaker and not sure if it's just bad range in my speakers or just not coded into the track (or PD believes dirt is silent).... When you review you might want to keep a close eye on that section too.

Anyway, my replay is attached to my post on page 1 of the thread and probably hidden because that post is so long and rambling

Note: I would be willing to double check any/all NTSC replays on Thursday when I return home to provide that 2nd person confirmation review. I'll see where the thread goes and if people think that's warranted or not. I also don't want to step on any feet!

(How did this short note end up long and rambling again :banghead:)

Replay (PAL) attached - I hope it's ok, I've watched it a few times and wasn't able to find any problems... but maybe I've misunderstood the rules and my slightly wild approach for turn 1 is not ok.

Vaxen, any chance you could have a look at the results and fix the problems with us four newbies (last four positions in the handicapped results)? Something seems to be wrong.

Thanks.

Well, first and foremost, the "official" way of handling it is to be courteous, and assume that someone may have made a genuine and honest mistake, not that they intentionally turned in a dirty lap and are trying to pull one over on you. I don't like the tone of your post. I've come across the same way to someone who has had multiple DQ's for the same reasons, and clearly knows better. But since you've been with us here for all of 5 weeks, that can't be the case for you.

Finally, photo evidence is always much better than a bitter tone and sarcastic commentary.

What I would prefer is that if you are reviewing a replay and are simply unsure of whether or not it's clean, you send a PM to me or one of the other race admins to request that we review it. And you definitely do not need to be questioning the authenticity of a TT series that has been running here for more than 7 years. On a week like this one, I will likely grab a cross section of replays to have a look for myself, and I think you'll find on a lot of weeks that replays are getting multiple checks. I'm also not sure how you think you're someone god's gift to replay reviewers, so your one check is OK, but we need to get 2 if other people are checking them.

Big congrats to Hydro for a nice D3 win, well deserved and to WRP001 to complete the podium. The podium is split by less than a tenth! Congrats to all other division podiums and once again a stunning time by Dan!

I, like yourself Hydro, had to rely on a last ditch effort before the deadline to get a clean run in. I previously had to scrap a 1'44.361 due to a very slight off in the first chicane and with about 25 minutes to go til the deadline, I hit my current time. I stopped immediately to go check the replay and submitted with a few minutes to spare. So all in all, an exciting photo finish

These are my full splits:

23.615 (saw a 23.2 but stuffed it immediately)
28.929 (I think my best T2, even though I lost too much speed in the first left corner)
31.219 (close to my best T3)
20.760 (close to my best T4)

And here is the replay:

Sorry to Madmax and Madbeater but I don't seem to be able to de-compress the zip files, think its a problem with my laptop rather than me.

Almost everybody has a kamikazi entry in that first chicane.
Yours is clean too. Nice lap 👍

Didn't get to put nearly as much time in to this as i had hoped, anyway here is my replay for this week.
