Glad you joined gtplanet.

Run qualifier.

Bye mate.

BANG! Now let's see where he places hehe... Will he beat everyone by over 1 second because of his anti-skid?

All good. There are two spots where I think you lost a little time. You ran quite wide in that tight corner before the Schumacher section and coming out of the final chicane where you had a little wobble. :)

Thanks for checking and I know about the mistakes, take a look at my post earlier in this thread.;)

I don't know who this guy is, and he only has a couple of posts in the WRS section. Is there something I'm missing here? Or are you guys just having a bit of fun?

Thanks for checking mate. 👍

I sent my other replay to Vagabond to make a T1 clip, I didn't want to cause any confusion by posting multiple replays in the results thread. I'll post it in the video thread when he's done (unless he posts it himself :sly:)...

I was wondering the same thing, if you're missing something then I am too.

Congrats to the podium-grabbers and comedians!

Also to EDK for a fiendishly fun combo.

Going to bed, but I thought this might help: (sorry, not as purty yet as Graviton's - my perl-fu has become weak. Yes, I did just have to know how awful my T4 was. First time with HTML::TableExtract,head-scratch FAIL how to handle the divisions and accidental reference passing took too long to work out how to auto-format the output. Righteous Report, Racer!)

Welcome to the WRS Remo.

Clean lap, time and tires are correct.

:) - Quite the opposite in fact. I assumed that the Opel was the best on paper as it had the best power to weight ratio and was the lightest. Less weight should in theory mean better braking, cornering and acceleration. The torque was good as well. I put in 333km on the Opel, before switching to the BMW for a further 298km - I beat my best Opel time in the first 15 minutes in the BMW. Why did I go to the BMW and not the Audi? I think because it was a favourite of mine in GT4...

I did go back to the Opel once, but after the BMW it felt clumsy and I didn't have the inclination to try and make it any better. I tried the Audi and it was somewhere between the two for me so I went back to the BMW (again). I have a lot of confidence in that car/set-up which I think paid dividends in being able commit to full power early through any given bend.

Its interesting I drove the Audi first thinking maybe it had an aerodynamic advantadge just from its spoiler and body design then I tried the Opel for its power to weight ratio. The last car I drove was the BMW. It didnt appear to be anything special but it drove like it was definitly a different class of car I felt.

For everyone's info, granfer is indeed a fast driver but on his YouTube channel, he takes pleasure to claim unreal times. He ran some WRS at the same time as us/you and posted videos that were always winning times but he doesn't respect all the restrictions... Now, it's easy to see that he's fast, I have no problem with that, but if a was a mod, I would double-check everything coming from him.

Thanks for the insight, I thought it must be something like that. It's interesting that the time he posted would have put him in the back of D3. ;)

Sorry for the delay, but replay attached.

I really should plan ahead and just export the replay and have it ready on a USB stick as soon as I know I'm not going to beat it anymore...

For the record: I used the Opel, which was already the fastest of the three for me in the DTM Seasonal, and while I was secretly hoping that I would be right I knew that most of you spoke of a different car when they said that one car is clearly faster than the other two. Figures... ;-)

OK chaps, ever so slightly off topic and for this I apologise, but two weeks running I have been unable to check other guys replays, I have done a quick search and nothing jumps out at me so I thought I'd ask on here,
Last week I downloaded Madbeater and Madmax's file, and both apparantley contained no or invalid data according to my lap top and was unable to un-zip the files.
This week is the same for Madbeater but for Usual Suspect it appeared to work succesfully, so onto my USB stick the un-zipped file went but I don't seem to be able to get it onto my PS3.
It will show the file if I view all files in the music menu but how I get it onto the game save data type menu is beyond me.
Sorry again for the slight veer off topic but I feel I should be checking other guys replays and not just waiting for mine to be checked.
I'm sure its only PAL replay files I have tried so I don't think its that simple.
Thanks in advance guys.
Jim.

Exactly ! You should allow anti-skid for a week, with racing soft tires so he can't cheat in any way hehe.

The Replay Folder with the Long name that starts with BC needs to be in 2 other subfolders on the USB stick. The easiest way to create these folders is to copy your own replay or gamesave to the stick.

The Main folder should be "PS3". The next Subfolder should be "SAVEDATA". Then the replay should be inside of that subfolder.

You can create those folders on the Flash Drive on the PC, and then just copy the unzipped replay folder into it. But you need to make sure you name them exactly as shown above, or the PS3 will not recognize them for what they are.

Hope that helps. Also check this thread for useful tips -

@Ealirendur: thanks for posting the splits. Here's the visual version using your data:

WRSWeek28.jpg

The delta last column is interesting as a few drivers with outstanding relative T4's jumped 3 spots... turns out my 2nd squirrel encounter of the lap in T4 didn't cost me a place.

Edit: Wasn't until I worked on this that I realized how many drivers submitted splits but not final laps... guess it was a tough combo in that regard.

@ Ealirendur & WRP001 - Great stuff guys 👍

@ Lynx - Great T4 - Seriously great. Obviously you had a fast sector, as you leaped right over the rest of the division. Amazing run to pick up 1/2 a second in 2 turns

Good lap with a really nice curve after T1 👍

Just a little advice that goes for all the lap and could save you a entire second - break a little sooner to get on the gas earlier
- see the hairpin before T2 and the chicane after T3 - you´re breaking point was to late and you got on the gas way after the apex of some the curves.

Which in fact it is - The BMW M3 GTR is an ALMS car and has never competed in the DTM. The Opel and Audi are true DTM cars from that championship and have never completed in the ALMS.

God, I'm such a nerd

Of course...

Max DF
Ride height 2/-15
Springs 19/9.5
ext. 10/1
comp. 10/1
ARB 7/1
camber 2.3/0.9
zero toe
LSD 6/12/7
gears - set to 290 using default final drive of 3.353 then...
1 - 4.501
2 - 3.069
3 - 2.258
4 - 1.74
5 - 1.45
6 - 1.22
BB 7/7

I didn't have a good set-up for the other cars so didn't feel I could post this one without saying what the car was. Note that this extreme/backwards tuning thing doesn't sit well with me and my engineering sensibilities, but it is effective...

I'd be interested to see how close it is to the set-up Wes and Jonas were running

Finally thanks to EDK I've managed to sort the replay viewing issue, well kind of, still having problems with a couple of weird un zip-able files but we'll see how it goes.

Clean as a whistle.👍

Congrats to all Div winners and podiums!
Hope I got all the vids correct...was in a hurry!

EDIT: Forgot to thank Speedy for the Lynx_Can PAL replay upload.

Carlos I ran a bit stiffer and not so extreme on the springs/dampers but more so on the ride height.

10/-15
14.8/14.8
5/6
5/6
4/3
2.0/1.0
-0.05/-0.05

5/11/7
4.223 (not used)
2.622
2.105
1.728
1.434
1.196
3.126 FD
(gives max speed 315, don't remember if I fiddled with FD/max speed to achieve ratios)

BB 7/6

Thanks for posting that Jonas - I'd suggest that my extreme spring/damper settings were probably delivering a similar effect to your ride height. I found the car very sensitive to ride height and more so than some of the other cars that we've driven recently. I imagine your car may have been more progressive than mine - mine was great until it let go, and then it felt like it would go all the way to Luxembourg!

Interesting how close we were on diff settings...

Thanks - I kind of knew that (although it took me a long time to figure it out, so thanks again for the confirmation), but none of my laps after this one (about 200 something...) ever got the turn 3/4 combo as good as this, so I was about .7 to 1.0 behind my ghost and managed to close it to a .5 to .1 difference at the end of the lap. Kind of frustrating... ;-)

There are only three replays left to be posted and verified now, SuperSic, w-g-e and lbsf1, all PAL.:)

Yes, I'm waiting for those to complete the podium vid ;)
