GTP_WRS Week 31 : It Almost Feels Like A Race Car

I may be the one starting the 1/1 nasty rumors. That helped me stop the lift of the brake, spin out of control problems. Maybe now that I've driven this thing a couple of days I have a bit better feel. Will fool around with 4/1 for a bit...

Ran back to back PBs tonight. I'm having a wretched time with druids, so still good room for improvement.

Edit: New PB on 4/1. Think I'll stick with that. Half way to my goal of shaving off half a second from my time yesterday.

1/1 had too much rear in the mix for me. 5/1 or 4/1 makes it much less like a hand brake.

While I'm an average driver and my times suck at the moment, I've clocked some amazing sectors, but never in the same lap! Grrrr....

Don't brake late and use the throttle slightly to stop it sliding, I start braking in the middle of the track and then I have to coast a lot here and try to line up the exit as tight as possible to the left. If you get it right you end up just on the rumble strip that is super shallow, on the right, on the way out. Full brakes on and no throttle here seems to kill the car.

It's probably the hardest turn on the track, closely followed by turn 6 which is a right bastard....

I start braking after the last marker on the right and whilst braking I stay on the throttle to control the car. Begin staying completely to the right, then while releasing the brakes turn to the apex and try to hug the inside curb where the split line is. I hope that helps.

I lost quite a bit in turn 6 and in the last turn, because I couldn't get the power down early enough :yuck:

All these turns are a crap shoot for me. The only turn I can take semi-consistent is the last one.

Thanks for the advice. The lap I have currently submitted, i took turn 4 the way you are describing, but I don't guess I carried enough speed through it.

I find these combo hopelessly addictive. Feels like I'm absolutely flying, but the splits tell me I'm not

Some combos get easier when I'm tired and stop pushing too hard (BRZ at the Ring for example). This one is not one of them :)
Not worth submitting splits for such small gain at T4 but found 3 tenths at the line. It looks like I'm getting killed in sector 4.

BB 4/1. I've double checked the settings to ensure the car is completely stock.

This car is such a blast to drive!

Nice. Now slow down. :D

I usually just send a replay in to fetchy to make sure all the settings are correct. Better to find out right then if things are wrong, that way I'm not scrambling last minute to put together a decent lap.

Well this sucks. I submitted my current lap and Fetchy rejected it. I went to settings and reset to default and nothing changed. I bought a new car and looked at the default settings, all different!

I've run new splits with the new car.

Please delete my splits.
That's a pain :ouch:

Sorry :( better to find out now and start working on a new time as opposed to it being to late.

You're fast so it shouldnt take you very long to get back on the LB

Some quick splits with the new car to fix the leaderboard. Luckily there's still lots of time to try improve.

Log on to youtube to watch a video of Twissy running the grand prix track in a BMW, 3 1/2 hours later I'm watching tutorials on how to talk to giraffes.
I've heard giraffes are able to tell you the best racing lines around Brands... So go on and learn their language :P
Btw, I just ruined a 1'12.0xx T4 :banghead:

Those stupid recommendations get me every time.

I doubt i'll get another .034 at t4, so don't you go getting in there. Just stay where you are.

FINALLY starting to understand this one...don't slam back through the gears, let it coast a little before getting on the gas carefully:

19.683
34.700
49.966
1:13.833

My final sector wasn't anything to write home about...so hopefully I can get some more time on this one đź‘Ť

Put another 45 into it. Found another second overall.

19.617
34.567
49.417
12.950

Random 34567 for the second split. :P

E: Just checked the board, and apparently I've mashed other people's splits into my own lap.

Same S1 as DEPR.
Same S2 and S3 as Animera.
Same S4 as billyjoebobx.

How even?

You left out the 1' in t4 split

I'm wondering whether our ver. 1.11 times will be relevant after tomorrow's server maintenance. There's no time for me to lap today anyway.
Considering there is no 1.12, I'd say the times set before now are still valid.

Should have time to post a time this week at last
Second session and first on the wheel
20.171
35.488
50.421
1.15.055

Time to hunt those tenths down

Hoping to run again later, I find BH addictive & infuriating in equal measure...but always want to go back to it.

To add to BB discussion, I also use 1/0, 2/0 and 3/0 arbitrarily and in between mini-sessions.

Sorry to hear you had an issue with settings, @Animera - will submit one of my replays later too to check mine, as I am using an old car which I reset all the settings on....
