Steward's Comments:

Nice job everyone!

Cheers,

OLR Team.

Important notices:
To streamline the WRS administration process, all required replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Provisional" and will become "Official" once all posted replays have been verified. After 7 days, all drivers who fail to provide a requested replay will have their lap disqualified. (Beware: disqualification isn't taken lightly within the WRS.)
Drivers who do not have a submitted lap posted in the results are not to post any information related to a laptime they might have achieved in the results thread. Any such posts will have the times removed.

Replay Verification Requests:
This week we would like to see replays for all indicated results. All replays are to be posted here.

Instructions on how to upload your replay can be found here - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3180607&postcount=2

Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Great combo this week Kevin (again), and thanks to Vaxen for getting the results up so quickly.

Very tricky to stitch a lap together given the nature of the car, the endless series of corners and the rain. A great challenge though and one that's kept me nervously watching the leaderboard since the middle of last week. As it was, Tim has deservedly taken the D2 win with a great lap - very well done mate 👍

James and Wes  you boys are in another league, as is Pekka.

Another D3 trophy for Lou8ball - see you in D2 soon ;)

And look at Al - you've completely demolished your handicap - AGAIN! Outstanding work

Happy with my T3 (26.796) but just gave away too much to Tim in T2 - exiting the hairpin drove me nuts all week  The spreadsheet said I was capable of a 2'16.65, but that was with a freak sub-minute T1 that I managed to pull off just once all week. Suspect that everyone will have tales of magic sectors that just disappeared through the esses/Degner/Hairpin/Spoon/Casio (delete non-applicable for you) As it was, my submission had my PB for T2 and T3 in it, so in reality I think I only left a maximum of 0.2 on the track. Had we all run our best sectors, I'm certain Tim still would have beaten me.

Replay to follow...

Off to Trail Mountain

Suprised to see that I held on for a podium. Missed the entrance to the chicane and lost about .1. Luckily I had one good sector to prop up my time.

Replay's attached.

My lap also had a PB for T1 and T2 and a T3 that was about a tenth off my PB so it was a lucky lap. I just saved it a couple times on the rumbles and was glad it was clean on review. I'm pretty sure if we run 100 laps you'd beat me on 95 of them. Everyone gets lucky sometime with an outlier lap and this was my week.

I have to say though, my exits from the hairpin felt great. It was Degner and Casio that gave me fits and ruined quite a few good laps. Casio in particular as it was easy to overdrive and ruin an entire lap or get too cautious and ruin an entire lap. :dopey: Degner I just never really figured out... it was like walking on ice... gotta get better there for the online race or my race will be over quickly.

I'll post up my replay in a bit.

The D1 guys really blew us out of the water this week. Over a 1 second gap from D1 to D2... No D2 drivers with D1 handicaps this week!!!

Congratz to all the drivers that hit their goals and toughed it out in the rain. Fun week and a different twist that I really liked. Looking very much forward to the online race and random weather. Next rain event should be Spa!!!

Must have been a storm out there, 'cause Vaxen was lightning-fast too!

Thanks for the great joerb as always, admin team!

Congrats to all the brave participants, podiums and target-reachers!

James for a come-from behind, Tim just pipping a charging Jon (hope that'll take the edge off the footy :sly:), Lou, teecro and TV Jon driving like (D2) madmen again, Al and Dale on the way up....

I wondered whether the handicapped-by-rain Elise would beat out the GSX, and it certainly got there. Great times at the top, and Pekka got his mojo back - guess the G27's OK? :dopey:

Pleasantly surprised my T3 held up to the point that I still needed a replay on handicap, since the chicane was ugly. Will post tomorrow.

My lap also had a PB for T1 and T2 and a T3 that was about a tenth off my PB so it was a lucky lap...

That's not luck Tim, that's fuilfilling your potential! To get within a tenth of your theoretical best around this place in the wet in an MR car is great, and notice that you are the only D2 driver with a decent handicap improvement to show for it...

Thanks for the T3's Ren - nice to see I 'went Brown' in T1 and T3

For the record, my lap was 0.676 faster than my wk20 submission in the GSX/R

EDIT: forgot to add, thanks to Kevin for his set-ups as I wouldn't have been where I am without them 👍

I posted my last splits at 6:53pm EST yet they didn't update? Is it just a matter of fixing it after the fact?

Thanks in advance!

Congrats to winners and podium positions.

Will get my replay up later.

A ton of my time was spent restarting because I would spin on the first lap without getting to T1. Or because I needed to get my pedals working properly.

:cheers:Contrats Twissy, WRP001, Lou8ball, Allibubba, and btcanon on GOLD finish in your divisions! Al, next time I'm gonna....! It was close!:

I can manually fix my table after the fact, but I have a Perl script that simply calculates the last sector from the difference between the splits on the board and the results - both just as Fetchy sees and displays them, so if Fetchy didn't get the splits and update, I don't either (no magic powers here).

I can't recall, but I doubt that Fetchy checks again after the splits thread is archived, so manual update is the best we can do, I think. (Fixed, but the delta might be off - not sure whether I should recalculate!)

For the record I was 3 seconds faster here than the GSX/R...

Also retribution for my DQ... On the GSX/R combo I was a noob and submitted the lap time displayed on the top right of the replay which was 0.6 slower than my actual fastest lap (and replay) and got a black flag for my error. :dunce:

Replay attached. It's close on a couple rumbles in T3, but definitely clean... not razor thin margins, but will take a pause or two to verify it.

Thanks in advance.

Congratulations to all division winners and podium finishers! Way to go, Al!!!

The D1 guys really blew us out of the water this week. Over a 1 second gap from D1 to D2... No D2 drivers with D1 handicaps this week!!!

I guess Chuk's foam got too soggy... ;)

But seriously, I take my hat off to the whole bunch of you who submitted, myself having given up very early. 👍

Clean lap. Tires and specs and surface water levels match.

You were as close as I was in "Last Curve" on the inside rumbles, but kept it over the rumbles thanks to the same "slide" to the right that saved my lap. 👍 You did a nice job of not losing the car also coming out of there and drifting onto the right rumbles... most of my laps that ended up on those rumbles ended up in disaster.

Clean lap. Tires and specs and surface water levels match.

No close calls at all Dale. 👍 My favorite part of your lap was your exit on Degner... very nice.

A few tips: You can carry more speed into turn 1. Brake late, turn in with a lot of speed, downshift to 4th hold speed and then finally brake and downshift to 3rd (or even 2nd depending on gear box). Basically you want to divide the turn into two parts and take the first half as fast as possible before slowing for the 2nd half. S-curves were pretty nice. Always tricky and a bit of luck for me as sometimes it just fell into place for me and sometimes it was sloppy. I noticed that if I could stay in the gas for the initial entry to each S and then back off the gas it worked much better than backing off before turn in. On the exit of the S-curve section at Dunlop I was able to get away with just a momentary pause form full throttle and that was key for the long straight following. Degner you did nicely. Good job at the hairpin, but could get on the gas partially and progressively as the car straightened out and run out to the right rumbles... doing this wrong and there was a spin in store though so a bit risky, but the exit speed benefit was worth it. On the 2nd half of spoon you broke a little late and missed the apex so you couldn't get back in gas early enough for the long straight to follow. This corner as much as any other you want slow in and fast out. final curve you could have stayed in 5th and carried more speed. Casio was very nice.

Overall a really clean lap... those were great racing lines also... too bad your going to miss next week because I think a consistent approach like that is going to win the online race.

PAL Replay attached

Pretty sweet lap all in all, just one tiny error missed the apex into the final chicane, went in to hot!

Well done, Tim, on the D2 gold, and the great replay checks! 👍
Jon, that's quite a small margin between you two. Great run!

Man, I'll stop naming names there, as I think I'm astonished with just about everyone's times. I had to give up on submitting, after 3hrs I could tell I just wasn't cutting it. Congrats to all you on your bravery in this challenging combo.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I am wondering where D4 went this week? Nine_Hundred submitted splits but no final time? Thanks Dale for pushing me again, I wasn't sure my T3 would hold up it was .500 off my PB.

I want to thank Kevin and the others that provided setups, I had fun tweeking them together!

Congrats to all podium winners and wow D1 was truly in a class of their own this week! I would like to watch their replays but have never tried to download and watch them before. I will have to give it a try.

Al

If only you could... they are all PAL replays. Fastest NSTC replay is mine... I *never* thought I would say those words. :dopey:

Of course Speedy will put them on video for all of us to admire.

Thanks so much Tim, for the check and advice! I was wishing your T3 was terrible Al!:sly:

The Canadian Air Show Snowbirds are the best, impressive formations, do a lot of the things the Blue Angels, and the Thunderbird do, but with a lot more planes!!

I bought a new Elise, painted with a nice Verde Abetone Ferrari chip, changed rims, grinded with a GV300 .... runned for about 10 laps and then.... hadn't time to play through all the week :D

Congratulations to all podium drivers. Nice job for top D3 people in D2 times, nice Lou8ball 2nd win, Allibubba 3rd and .... btcanon 1st win at 1st try too :D

Congrats to all podiums and division winners! :)👍
Also, congrats to all who ran times in a division above. 👍

I bet we're all glad to be drying off and onto the dry pavement for week 52.

I wanna give a special nod to my fellow D3-er Lou8.
I don't know where you found all that extra time, but amazing job for finding .6+ after I snaked the lead from you earlier on.
Do you mind sharing some tenths with me when you find them in the mountain for week 52? :sly:

Thank you Kev for your tune. 👍
If it wasn't for your tune, I wouldn't have found my extra time and snagged a 2nd place.

I will have my replay up after I get home from work.

Good luck to all at Trial Mountain! :)

Congratulation to all the podium placers. Great times from the D1 guys this week definitely a class above the rest this week. Very close at the top of D2 this week, I would love to be able to put the top 5 ghosts on the track at the same time.
Lou8ball and Teecro great job in chasing me down and relegating me to 3rd after I had a full second lead early in the week, and credit to the rest of the D3'ers that almost pushed me off the podium :D.

Replay to come later on.

Congrats on all Podium finishers!!! 👍
Seems like a wet TT needed some real commitment here, looking at the number of submissions...

I was determent to go and try for a podium. I was in love with this challenge. Unfortunately with only three sessions (the last one lasting for four hours :ill:) I couldn't get there. Still glad to see my T3 was good enough to keep up.
Using Chris' tune with some praiano tweaks.

Some crazy  times in D1! Unbelievable.

Lou, see you in D2 someday soon. ;)

Also, very good to see the determination of Al and Dale every week. 👍

Don't forget to check out the Online Race guys. There are still open spots. ;)

EDIT: As for the PAL replays of D1. As soon as all replays are available, I'll get that Podium video up ASAP.

Every week im amazed by the times in d1 - crazy fast. Well done to twissy for the overall win, and all of the podium placers and division winners.

Im very pleased to win at suzuka, I found it quite tough at the beginning of the week, but managed to pull out a decent lap.

Well done to teecro and jtv, was a very good battle. And to viper for the fastest ds3 lap. Thanks for the kind words guys. Spent alot of time this week, see you in mount maserati!

Cheers

Will post replay when I get in from work.

Here's my replay. Just reviewed again and it's as clean as a whistle, although the big slide in turn 2 still makes me wince :ouch:

Many thanks to the reviewer 👍

I guess Chuk's foam got too soggy... ;)

 No amount of foam was going to help me this week!! I would have needed many hours to catch Tim and Jon, and that may be wishful thinking!

So congratulations to Tim and Jon!!!:cheers: Very impressive driving in conditions that depended on skill and consistency!

And a shout to Lou8ball for his D2 time! 👍

Al gets a victory, too!

I'm glad to see btcanon running! 👍 You finished quite nicely on the handicap board in a very diffcult race. Keep it up! 👍

Cheers to Twissy for his overall!
I am probably not alone when I say that the willingness of you D1 drivers to share your knowledge is greatly appreciated. 👍 Then to see it in action is truly remarkable! Wes and Pekka, too! 👍👍

One last thing. I'm know Kevin is disappointed at not getting the time to run this more. I'm sure he would have given the D2 podium a run for the money, as I've raced him here and know how fast he is. But I hope he takes some comfort in the fact he did stomp the bejesus out of me! :ouch: No matter what the combo, I don't remember ever beating him on this track! :ill:

Fantastic job everyone - awe inspiring from the 3 surviving D1ers 👍 I didn't put enough time into this one during the week, intending to have some sessions on Sunday.... but then Lucas put up Maserati Mountain and that was that - hooked instantly. A shame - this was fun combo but I don't think I'd have caught Pekka anyway.

Nice job Tim and Lou for their division wins 👍

Here's my replay, I think I will enjoy this, I think I just have to get a lot faster.
