Time, GTP tag and tyres all correct and the rain was ll there as well! Got yourself a little out of synch through the esses (turn 6) which cost you a good chunk, mainly through taking curb on the inside which I found just washed the front end out by a couple of metres each time, but also being in too high a gear. Dropping to second would have helped keep the nose in and also helped you accelerate up the hill. Very nice through Degner 1. You also held the brakes too much into 130R (a quick dab would have done it) and gave the curbs too much respect through Casio. Otherwise nice lap Ren and very smooth 👍

I think that's all the PAL replays checked that are available. Just Wes and Pekka to go...

btcanon, I was meaning the WRS GTP Videos, that Speedy is involved with. I review the podium replays, watch lines used, where braking is indicated, and how soon throttle is applied. Lots to learn.

Sorry Tim, missed first page, nice run, clean, tires. weather settings, time, all correct. 👍

Thanks Dale. 👍

We missed you for the online race last night. It was so much fun, one of the best online races to date I think for pure fun factor.

We may try to organize a Saturday repeat if anyone is interested who missed on yesterday or who just wants one more shot in the rain.

HELP
I cannot get GTP_Steevee to import to my PS3, copies, but no new files. Your replay says it is (updated version) is this the problem.

I think replays are up to date, need CarbonFibers to submit.

I already checked steeves replay. His replay is a PAL replay. In order to view a PAL replay you need a PAL game disc.

Excellent advice.....
... Otherwise nice lap Ren and very smooth 👍

I heard "... Nice Lap!..." :P

Thanks for the check and excellent tips, Jon

I was chasing a dirty lap (not even close - full off track between the Degners) that had the otherwise distinguishing feature of being my first reasonable connection of all three sectors, so I saved, exited, and chased it a lot. That, and it was a 2'17.863. I should have been able to beat it, since the Esses weren't tremendous (1'00.7 T1 all up, tho), but it didn't happen in time - I just seemed to keep losing good Sector 1s at Degner or the hairpin. I completely gave up on the left rumble at Casio, since it killed me so many times. I eventually started thinking I might need to avoid some rubbered areas, too (close in in the hairpin, for example), but that may have been superstition.

The Esses, as you saw, I tended to edge off my preferred line at least 1-2 times per lap, which had me around the 1'01.0-.1 mark most of the time, when I should have been up to .4 under that (Degner 2 giving me fits didn't help, either). I found the positioning for the minimal lift for the uphill quite tricky, and lifted too much there fairly often.

I needed a bunch more laps, I think, especially using 2nd in the mix there.

I hope I get time to look at some replays - work's been busy and stressy over the last two weeks. Folks have been very efficient with the PAL checking!

Very smooth run, easy check. Tires, weather conditions. time all correct:tup:

FYI, the time is now final for the extra Saturday online race time slot:

5:00 PM Eastern / 2:00 PM Pacific / 10:00 PM GMT

Looking for a few additional drivers to chase Wes around the track. :sly: Sign up here if you are interested. Wednesday was a ton of fun so if you are on the fence... go for it!

Note: register at the end of the thread with a normal post as the google form isn't set up for the Saturday slot.

It was a bit close at the hairpin exit on the rumble , but nothing like my Degner1 entry and Degner2 exit.

My Degner 1 entry:
degner1entry.jpg

At 50.867

And Degner 2 exit:
degner2exit.jpg
degner2exit1.jpg
degner2exit2.jpg
degner2exit3.jpg
degner2exit4.jpg
degner2exit5.jpg

At 56.817 - 56.934 - 57.034 - 57.134 - 57.284 - 57.417

Both of those are so close calls , that I almost didn't submit.
But fortunatedly I remembered the rules stating:
WRS51 thread
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times

At the Degner 2 exit there is only a small piece of (right rear) tyre rubber above the rumbles. That's enought for me. :sly:

This was one of those laps that I couldn't match , no matter how much I tried.
I just couldn't let it go. Sorry.
And sorry about the photo sizes , I only wanted them to work as a slow motion.

Here's my replay: PAL [001]

I checked your replay and it was a very close call at the Degner 2 exit. It took a lot of time to chek, but I came to the same conclusion as you did. I think it would be best if somone else could check the replay to confirm that.

I'll have a look too.
It certainly looks very close in Pekka's pics, but they are small pics, and it's raining ;)

You made the correct call 👍
Twice in fact. It's a clean lap, and yes Degner 2 was very, very close.

I checked Wes' lap as well and :

Watching you D1 guys is both inspiring and infuriating at the same time.
Wes, you made it look so easy - especially in T1 where you basically stayed off all the rumbles, and only changed gears 3 times. At least Pekka had a slight wobble in the esses to let us know human blood runs in his veins occasionally.
Wes, you were really close as well coming out of the hairpin, but it's good 👍

Great laps guys

Gerchu's replay still needs checking, and GTP_WILDMAN442 still needs to post his replay, otherwise we're done.

Both are NTSC replays.

How long do I have until I cant post it Jon?

Im working right now but can get it in tomorrow?

If not then I apologize for screwing up my first event

Justin

My file is too large by .16....

Kind of like how slow my lap time was.

If i Cant get it uploaded does that mean I am suspended or something?

I didnt already want to mess up this early...

Sorry fellas

Justin

That doesn't sound right Justin. Are you sure that you haven't zipped up your whole game save instead of just the replay?
