Time and tires correct a clean lap.

Well I did pretty well personally this week but the handicap results say you did even better for you personally.👍

Watch Fobias youtube video to see how to drive this track quick in this car but dont think the line he drove works in every car its not the way it works usually or for a DS3 for that matter either.

Get you in the ball park here. Ill explain why the weird lines do work its about the banking in the track mostly.

You might find other tracks with ohter corners that arent flat they slope to one side or the other and that slope changes how you want to corner some.

I dont know of another corner in the game you want to drive all the way around the very outside however.

Dont really try to look for driving laws at this track its special.

Other more normal tracks do out in out. use up all the room you dare the more the better as long as you stay clean is usually the rule for line.

Then to go quicker the trick seems to be late apex the corners cant really late apex corners if you dont hit the apex know where it is realise whether your early apexing, apexing or late apexing but generally speaking I would say keep trying to apex just a little later.

I find when new to tracks Im more likely to be early apexing. Why? well im not using all the room on the entry so its hard not to early apex when you do that. thats how you early apex corners if you really want to but ive yet to see a reason for wanting to.

There are some good references I found about driving like a real race car driver on the web you should look at some see the arc of how late apexing looks its not a perfect circle. just knowing that then figuring out how to make your car actually want to do it and fast will make you a quicker driver.

Here's my lap:

Quality's bad but I don't have a recorder.

So that's how you drive the track quickly! That just goes against anything I have ever learnt on a racing game. :odd:

It will be interesting to see the podium video, I take every single corner differently to you (apart from maybe turn 2)!

Solid lap though mate. 👍

Hehe, as I've said you weren't smooth, you were smoking the front tires (and rears for that matter) too much, hence you lost time. Wheelspin = loss of traction = slower times (I have a feeling I shouldn't preach you so I'll shut up now). =p
You'll get much better on wheel, considering how great you already were on DS3 so just keep practicing. 👍

Sorry for the slight delay. Here's my replay.

Sorry for late props but don´t like typing on my cell and just now i´m next to my computer.

First of all, congratulations to division and podium winners and in general to so many
that tried to race with all this strange lines track

Just  to twitchy, insane time, already saw your lap and if i´d braked so late on turn 2 and on T3 i would surely crash, great control 👍
Hope you stay with us and not just on HSR.

Also to Jack, great time mate, you sure like this track 👍 and with those times you will be on D1 no time :sly:

Happy with my time because Chris and Pekka were not far away and that must tell something :dopey:
(really strange not to have to submit my replay, was used to that )

Thanks to WRS crew for another great week 👍

First I want to say thanks and secondly, (reffering to the bold part) I'm honestly touched.
I'll try, I haven't tried the current combo though... not all combos are fun, and I'd rather spend my time racing/beeing on GTP than spending my time with a combo I don't like.
Of course, I'll hope admins will make another combo which will attract me but I can tell you this (which might sound silly of me), I won't take part in an event if I'm not 100% sure I'll nail it, and I mean nail it (call it OCD).
I hope that I'll see a combo which suits me, competing here is a great pleasure that's for sure.! 👍

I am probably not one to talk as I have skipped events I am not good at, but there are a fair few I have taken part in where I knew I wouldn't do well (Week 7 being one I was terrible at). There was also an event on Nurb GP D a while back in the Calsonic GTR Super GT, I decided I would give it a shot to spend time on a track I have always been terrible at to try and learn it.

I may have placed lower in these events than I would of liked but it helped me learn where I was going wrong. There's also other people giving out help and advice all the time, believe it or not there are people in lower divisions that give their tips and advice that proves to be very helpful, they may not be as fast but I bet a lot of them can talk a good lap. I am always looking out for tips no matter who it comes from.

Question to you is,

How do you expect to improve if you are only going to do things you are good at?

It's not all about winning, in my opinion it's about learning as well. There is a fair few guys to learn from in the WRS community as well :)

Good points, I see what you're saying.
But now hear my part of the story, I don't find it enjoyable, hell - it's a torture, when I spend time on an event I'm having troubles on. For example, I hate Nurburgring GP, I'd spend a few hours, get into groove and then I'll get my nerves torn apart by not beeing able to string sectors I'd be happy with together. Then I'd be frustrated for not beeing able to play on my standard and in the end I'd just drop it, mind you I'm speaking in theory, since I hadn't actually tried the combo yet.
When stringing a lap together stops beeing an enjoyment and starts beeing a frustration it's time for me to back off, and I don't want to be seen as a guy who doesn't submit so I'd rather not try it. Don't know if you get me... I can promise you this, I will come back - just let me see an event I feel like fun.

Sorry this took a couple days, very busy. I don't think it will be a problem to check. Hope I can find time for week 60.

Talk to you all later. Have a good day.

Time and tires correct. Clean lap.

I can only say I hope some day to be able to drive as well as you can in the amount of time you spend doing it.

Nice lap. Watched you from the cool premium interior mode as well. Makes you look ultra pro behind the wheel to me.👍

@Sam thanks for verifying my replay.:)

Lap is clean however it is ran by UB3R-BR3NDAGE.

Ah crap. Forgot about that rule. My bad. First time entering in ages. :dunce:

Congratulations to everyone, especially the winners and podium placers. The control needed to ride the edge of the track is way above my abilities but great to see how it is done properly 👍
A tough combo with the DS3 but happy with my placing and handicap :)

That´s everybody story in here :dopey:

But if you try harder and you hit that "magical lap" there´s no words to describe the feeling, and you will be "god" on another track :dunce::cheers:

(saying this but i hate city tracks :sly:)

Hope I do this right, my region...NTSC..? USA

You uploaded the wrong replay. It contains a replay of this weeks event.

Code:

I'm nervous this isn't going to work. My lap top died and that is what I use to upload everything and the reason it took me so long to upload this. I installed 7Zip on this computer but it didn't show it as an option when I went to zip this file, where my other old computer said Zip using 7Zip, at least I think it did. Sorry if it doesn't work but I'll try to sort it out right away if it doesn't.

Nice lap, never thought about that line on last corner.Dumb question,
Where do I get the green flags?
Figured out the region thing, I cant view PAL.

Airsick, if you click "Edit" on your post above, you'll see how mcfizzle has a "[img*]http://...[/img]" after your name (without the *). Copy and paste that text after mcfizzle's name. Like this:

6---1'06.936---GTP_mcfizzle [img*]http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5458/user118395pic1573412914.gif[/img]

Remove the * in [img*], I just added the * so it wouldn't actually show the flag, since I want you to be the one adding the flag. The results leaderboard at http://wrs.gtplanet.net/GT5/results/59/ will notice the green flag by mcfizzle's name and mark his run green.

Another way to get the url for the flag is to right-click on the flag and choose "Copy image url/location".

Thank you. I watched your replay..

Thanks Airsick.👍 HSR seems like it's is a track of unique lines that can't be applied to any other tracks really. The progressive banking of turns 1, 2, and 6 allow you to hold a lot of speed up high plus the benefits of the high camber curbs keeping you on the track, leading to some head scratching techniques. When approaching the last corner I knew that, plus we're able to work with more of the track surface here than most other places, allowing me to get up on the run off area and get a better approach for entry to the turn. I didn't do it perfect but it certainly helped. But finding those lines was totally experimentation over the course of this week and previous WRS events at HSR.
