Steward's Comments:

Nice job everyone!

Cheers,

OLR Team.

Important notices:
To streamline the WRS administration process, all required replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Provisional" and will become "Official" once all posted replays have been verified. After 7 days, all drivers who fail to provide a requested replay will have their lap disqualified. (Beware: disqualification isn't taken lightly within the WRS.)
Drivers who do not have a submitted lap posted in the results are not to post any information related to a laptime they might have achieved in the results thread. Any such posts will have the times removed.

Replay Verification Requests:
This week we would like to see replays for all indicated results. All replays are to be posted here.

Instructions on how to upload your replay can be found here - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3180607&postcount=2

Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

What a fun week, and an honor to be Vaxen for a day.

Congrats to everyone brave enough to submit, and to the winners and podium getters. 👍

Amazing work, Jonas, crazy domination there.

D2 podium's got 2 last-minute runners and one guy who blew past 1000 miles easy, go figure. :D

Nice work Blair, punching way above a D3 time. 👍

(Sincerely sorry for this double-post:sly:)

I knew my "Bonzai" run through the chicane was fast, but didn't know it was D1 fast. :dopey: Too bad the rest of my lap didn't follow suit.

Congratz to all the podium finishers and especially to Yanaran... quite the return!!!

Blair, you are a speeding bullet. Great run and dominant win in D3. 👍

Awesome! Held on to 2nd :D

Had fun this week, but wasted 5/600 miles using my own (rubbish) setup only to change it to a good one I found on the net (10/11/10 & -0.17 / +0.24 being the only major differences) along with my own gears for the track, which started paying dividends! In the end I did 1198 miles and about 7 oil changes!?!?

I had a best T4 of .37x which I thought would be up there with the best in the division, but for the 2nd week running it seems my pace-ometer for the last sector is a little bit out!

Great run Biffy - the only way I'd have beaten you would have been to put ALL my best sectors together, which still only gives me 1'06.446 - but that is only a fraction quicker and it would have never happened on this track, so I salute you for that time and splits, especially given you didn't run anywhere near as many miles as I :D

Best splits for the week were 33.033, 24.131 and 24.910 (24.372)

---

Elsewhere, congrats on a mighty win Jonas & great effort Hydro and Tim. Blair too, great result and time!

Replay attached. It's a solid lap, without being spectacular - the only bad part is that I panicked at the last turn, turned slightly too early, had to wait a fraction too long and then hesitated, costing me 141mph instead of 143mph at the line.

Really!?! Like a miniature tree? I'll have to see that replay!

Seriously, well done everyone. I didn't have a chance to run this one but i don't think I'd have excelled anyway, it looks tricky.

Congrats to all Div. winners and podium finishers. 👍

A tough combo this was, very technical track and tricky car made for a great challenge.

This car was difficult to drive to say the least. Suspension changes didn't seem to have a great affect on handling. For me it was all in the gearing, LSD and BB setting. And trying to put 4 good sectors together was very difficult. Never really accomplished that.

Attached is my replay.

T1 wasn't my best, braked too late into turn 1 and went a bit wide. Managed to have my personal best on the remaining sectors. A close call at the chicane, but after reviewing many times it looks clean. Although that's not up to me to decide. I have a feeling there's going to be a lot close calls their. It seemed the only way to get a good T4 was to cut the entry into the chicane as close as possible to get a good drive to the last corner.

Nice work Blair, punching way above a D3 time.

Thanks Lucas.

Blair, you are a speeding bullet. Great run and dominant win in D3.

Thank you Tim.

Elsewhere, congrats on a mighty win Jonas & great effort Hydro and Tim. Blair too, great result and time!

+1 and thanks again Matt.

Nice job Matt I know you tried so hard, so did I. Had I just tried to do a good T4 not my best T4 and really blew it, I could have done well it looks like. O well. I pulled a 1 thru T4 on my best clean run thru it.

If I only could put near to my PBs in a lap.

PBs of 0 0 7 and 1 the only one I remeber excatly is my T3 PB of 707 because I wanted to beat Jonas thru it. I wanted this weeks red time in sector 3. I could see how but doing it wasnt easy.

Thats my new kick trying to beat everyone thru one sector. The reason i do it is to figure out the rules to doing it and "seeing" like a D1G if you know what I mean?

I really am happy with how this week turned out. Did do a D2 time.
I did do a decent time thru T1 once that also makes me happy.
Last time we were here Jon kicked my ass by 2 seconds and hes a D2 also. So yeah I did way better this time. lol

Nice win Jonas. Nice job to my friend Joao I know he wont get a medal this week and no glory but he can drive like a D1 and thats something to be very proud of already I think.

Nice D2 win Biffy, all the more impressive to me because I just couldnt drive DS3 this week. Sorry Matt you just missed your first win in D2 but your dang good never forget it. Marc nice job getting the bronze, getting on the podium this week I think means alot.

Maybe other guys found this one easy I sure didnt. :)

Nice job Matt I know you tried so hard

.....

Sorry Matt you just missed your first win in D2 but your dang good never forget it.

Cheers Jack - any week where I'm higher than you is a massive success, considering the tear you've been on recently :)

I already have a D2 win btw - trying to get my 2nd has been insanely difficult though you're right, 4 silver trophies in the past few months but can't quite make the top spot :scared:

Just about to review GTP_Jammy's replay.

EDIT:
user118395pic1573412914.gif
GTP_Jammy

You take a very good line around almost all of the track - the only thing I can say is that it all looks quite cautious, braking a little too early and cautious on the exits, this is where a lot of time was there to be gained. With a very powerful car and the risk of spinning, I understand the desire to be smooth though and you certainly know how to hit the apexes - the more WRS'ing you do the more the speed will increase :)

Thanks bt for reviewing.👍

I really did blow the entry into turn 1 on that lap, cost me a couple tenths from my PB T1. I beat that split many times, but could never improve the lap OA.

I'm very happy to take the D3 win on a tough combo. Really wasn't expecting that. :)

Great work everyone! Well done to all the podium finishers, especially Yanaran for a dominating performance in D1, and also to all those in D2 who got very close to a D2 winning time.. Only 2 tenths split the top 6 runners in D2  I'm pretty chuffed to come away with a D2 win here, but I can't help feeling really lucky and a bit disappointed that I didn't do as well as I could. I feel damn lucky as I came into this quite late and also because my time wasn't the strongest and could easily have been beaten in the last sector :scared: And I feel a tad disappointed because I had the potential to beat the D2 par and go 5 tenths quicker, as in the final two hours of my session I managed to improve all of my lines and go much quicker. But I guess I overdid it or something because I just couldn't string a lap together despite how comfortable I felt with the car. I learned fairly quickly how to predict what the car would do and surprisingly managed to find control of it's high power through the tight corners (take the Esses for example, I still don't know how I got the 2nd best time in that sector, had lots of trouble with that corner), but I must have been exhausted without realising because I just couldn't do it. Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy to win as it was quite tough trying to beat Matt's splits, and coming up against late surges by Marc and Jack, but I don't feel like I deserved it as came in late and didn't do as well as I could! Anyway, enough blabbing about that..

Thanks, I'm so sorry to take the win away from you here (would've have been a great victory as well with Hydro just 2 thousandths behind ), but the F1 is one of my favourites and I just can not resist it. I'm hoping we get the roadcar version of it on Monaco soon :D

And I didn't drive as much as you, that's for sure, but I had a 3-hour session on Saturday and a 4-hour session last night, and they sure felt like a lot of work! Not sure on the miles as for some reason the odometer totally ignored the first session, but I'm guessing it was around 500-mark )

In terms of tune, I used Vagabond's and then modified it to suit me and it almost worked perfectly. It was still a bit unstable, but I was able to coax the most speed out of it when I got accustomed to it.

Thanks man, all I can say is that it's down to 10 years of racing game experience with the Playstation Controller! But this week it took a lot of work because my thumbs and arms were very sore by the end of each session :scared:

Okay, here's my replay, checked it a lot for cleanliness and I'm certain I've got it right this time 👍

Wow, thanks everyone! I'm super happy about this, never thought I would actually get an overall win and to get it on such a difficult combo really means a lot to me. I hadn't driven the F1 that much before but I always seem to do well on the Nurb GP track for some reason (maybe I'm a closet Tilke-fan). I guess I can go back into retirement now! :D

Great battle in D2 just as I expected with such a tricky T4, and nice work Biffy to come in at the last minute and swing past everyone. Sorry Chris that I had to beat you, but if it makes you feel better I can run a few laps in the rally event and PM you my times so you can laugh at them. :sly: Good job everyone else also, too many to mention. Looking forward to watching some replays and see what people did different...

I've attached my replay below(PAL). I was pretty close to my best sector times, but also honestly surprised that I pulled away in T4. I'm usually slower than those around me in the final sector. I'm not complaining though! :dopey: Shouldn't be any close calls for whoever checks it, I hope.

Congratulations Yanaran, and all others....proven a hard battle, and to be honest a bit 'out of my league', but fun...
here is my replay.

Thanks in advance for anyone who is checking my PAL replay. 👍

Cheers Jack - any week where I'm higher than you is a massive success, considering the tear you've been on recently :)

I already have a D2 win btw - trying to get my 2nd has been insanely difficult though you're right, 4 silver trophies in the past few months but can't quite make the top spot :scared:

Well what the heck? I dont feel bad for you at all then.(im joking)

No, I know how it is when you got the eye of the tiger and your real hungry for a win. Sometimes second feels about as good as 4th.

I cant help but cheer for you and other scrappy D2 drivers every week. I want to win dont get me wrong but I really dont like hogging wins either.

I was on a lucky streak there for a bit so its nice to have a butt kicker combo come along, keeps you humble. haha

I feel what you really win each week is a little more skill and a little more knowledge no matter how you place.

As for hidden sectors I do the hidden sector minus 1 tenth system no matter how good you do keep thinking its 1 tenth to slow.

I also learned a weird thing about MPH at checkpoints long ago they lie about how quick you took the corner before time wise.

That one being so close to the corners exit seemed like a big liar to me.

I was using km/h but i got a whatever 31 once at the line but I know I took a weird and real slow time wise route to get it. Besides i never got a PB thru T1 because i had a wicked fast start myself. Seems to me like any time you gained down the straight was lost during braking.

Put a turbo on that baby try beating you PB ghost to the apex of corner one you will see what I mean. Logic says you go so much faster down the straight you will definitly get to much quicker but dont seem thats how it really works at all to me anyhow.

Something that must be seen to be believed.

If Im wrong tell me Ive done this experiment recently but in another car and thats what I saw.

Had a great time trying to run my own setup this for this combo, the podium video will be a great comparison on 4 speed vs 6 speed. I thought I was good to go last Wed. only to find out that my fast OT run was "OB" and had to throw something together at the last minuite for submission. It must have taken me 3 hrs to get into the grove again to almost beat my dirty fast OT. I only missed it by .01 so I was able to finally submit. Great job there "Mill" for your D3 victory 👍

Thanks bt for reviewing.👍

I really did blow the entry into turn 1 on that lap, cost me a couple tenths from my PB. I beat that split many times, but could never improve the lap OA.

I'm very happy to take the D3 win on a tough combo. Really wasn't expecting that. :)

Just nice to see that I was not the only one doing big smoky but outs, I did not get to put as much time in on this one as I have others, so most of the time I spent facing the wrong way or into a wall.

Finally figured out that if it seemed like I was going very slowly I always put in my best time. I could never match my T1 again, came close, bu couldn't get there, and when I did I always screwed the rest of the lap up. Seems to always be the way with WRS though!

Nice one Viper!

Congratulations to all division and podium winners

Props to Jonas, just insane time  and that T4 is absolutely ridiculous :scared:. Now don´t go away for another 20 weeks

Lester, great time with just a session, don´t know how you guys do that kind of sectors with so little effort 👍

My mate Chris for is tune, i stick it till the end, pity that i didn´t have the hands to get the most of it :sly:

Great battle on D2 👍, and what a finish from Biffy, just nailed it on the last moment 👍
But respect to Matt, you really tried hard this week. Saw your lap and it´s great, and aside the little "choke" on the last turn my only advice is on turn 3, don´t brake so hard, just let the car coast and carry more speed around the turn and hit the gas sooner 👍

MilleRSVR, you don´t belong on D3 :sly:

Had a blast this week so great choice Tim 👍, even if i hadn´t to much to go against this week (the rest of D1 were just to fast) i still tried till the end because was so fun - best sectors together would give me around Lester time.
Last time were i was 1.6s behind Jonas so i improved almost a second :dopey:

Thank you for the kind words Jack 👍, now i´m the last of my division and no one remembers me :indiff::nervous: ... just kidding :dopey: wouldn´t trade it for nothing :dunce:

This was a track that I always had trouble. So, it was a good chance for me to learn. Active steering helped a lot as a small mistake doesn't mean a ruined lap. Once I added a bit of TC, things went well. Really happy that I got third in D3. I guess having only 6 D3 contenders helped :) A fun but very draining race. Here's the replay.

Oops. Sorry about uploading the wrong one.

Here's the correct one
Removed the incorrect replay.

I seem to be making too many mistakes on uploading the replay. My apologies. Will upload a new copy this evening when I get home.

Uploaded the correct (hopefully) file for sake of completeness.

Nice lap. A tire width to spare on the chicane :)
