GTP_WRS Week 82 : Fujiception

Thought I'd make a comeback in the WRS after almost 1½ years. After WRS moved to GT6, I took part in most events during the first months (actually did my debut on Fuji in the GT-R), until new job tasks caused me to spend 2½ hours a day commuting. Then I moved abroad and didn't have my steering wheel until I brought it to my new home this summer. So I thought I'd give it a go, for one week at least.

Did quite a lot of attempts tonight. The understeer is real on this track. You people have some good times on the board though.

Managed to get a high 23.1 in the first sector once. With only one turn in that sector there is not much time I can be losing, so anything under 23 is alien. Unless maybe if people are running with a good tune. I can't tune for crap since I never notice the difference when changing a setting. Tried 0 camber which used to be what everyone used back then. I think the grip just got worse though. Also tried increasing the camber to get more cornering grip. Not sure if it made a difference, at least not for the better.

Might have another go later to improve but it's going to be hard.

Just need to get the braking spot on for the first corner, thanks to @mr_lab_rat for this,

I had pretty good luck with very basic MiniStiggy's special tune:

Ride height - start with 80/80 and once you are comfortable with the car and track raise the front a bit and lower the rear (85/75 for example). Keep doing this until the car just becomes too unstable and slides too much for your liking.
Minimum spring rates
1/1
1/1
7/7
0.0/0.0
0.0/0.0

So new splits for me

@Gravitron Thanks for pointing out about the mamual...may try it at some point once I have set a decent time!

Forgot to post my splits from a couple of days ago when I last ran...set-up was just brake bias more rearwards and a couple of minor suspension tweaks (camber and TOE)....pretty ordinary lap times, mainly thanks to messing up the sweeping turn and hairpin in Sector 2 on almost every lap:

S2: 58.198

What's wrong with those? I have the same T2 but seriously weak final sector (and I mean really bad, like 4 tenths worth of stupid mistakes bad)
The reason why I'm mad is on the leaderboard  What does T stand for? I know it's a sector/split but what's the full word? I have a bad final sector too, looks really sluggish on the replay. :irked:

I'm not sure, it's just traditional marking for Timing points where you get your sector split times.
I'll be updating my splits tonight. I had 57.3s and even 57.5s that resulted in similar lap time to the posted lap.
If no aliens show up you'll get your purple splits :D

Well it never works as I expect it to be no matter how sure I am so I'm guessing aliens will come, also known as your skills.

Yeah, me too. Sometimes I use much faster ghost from another car so I'll never get ahead.

This time I knew I nailed that sector and just couldn't resist to look.

Still made one big mistake in the final sector but it's a bit faster than my old lap.

Urgh...I just cannot get a handle on this combo. I can't get into a rhythm and can't get consistent laps together...one lap I'll do a reasonable time and then the next lap I'm a second off. Have managed a .6 split (with the expected slow final sector) but I really have no clue how I managed it as, since that time, I haven't managed to break under the 58 mark! So frustrating, especially as I have got sector 1 down and can frequently get a .9 there (and almost get a .8).

Set-up wise I have tried a variety....tried @mr_lab_rat unorthodox settings and improved my overall time and set the .6 split time but was then nowhere with it and just didn't feel comfortable with it so tried a more orthodox setup and, while it felt more comfortable, the car more settled and corner turn in pretty similar, I just couldn't get the times. Fastest times have been run with a rearwards bb but not sure if it's the right way to go as tried default and it made no difference.

As for trying manual shifting, I am not even going there with this combo...given I am not very comfortable with it, it will just end up making me even worse than I already am (not that I could get much worse lol). I may have another try this afternoon to see if I can find something somewhere but am not hopeful...think I will just have to accept that this combo has beaten me..such a shame as I like Fuji normally and I do like this car
