General Information and Regulations

As with last season there will be three types of race event during the season. There will be 4 Standard rounds of 50mi and 5 Enduro rounds of 100mi and 1 Super-Enduro round of 150mi.

Week starts on Monday, with times to be sent via PM by 11.59pm GMT on Sunday

There is NO HP penalty for joining the series part way through the season.

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by GTPCTC sanctioning body, umm...me for now unless the GTMSA wants to pick me up :P. Any and all questions should be directed to GTPCTC officials (namely me..and anyone else who wants to help out) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by me for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

* Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
* No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
* Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
* No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
* All decisions by GTMSA officials are final
* The race track for this season will be defined as the area between the white or yellow lines. This means rumble strips do not count as track.

Qualifying

* Single hot lap in time trial (arcade) mode
* Weight penalty in effect
* SS tyres only
* ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
* Laps MUST be clean, no collisions no matter how small are acceptable
* Points: 3pts - 2pts - 1pt
* 20 second penalty added to race time if you don't submit a qualifying time
* Qualifying will be open for 1 week per round (i.e. Monday to Sunday)

There's an issue which might affect weight penalties in the results thread for race 2, so I won't run until that's been cleared up (as I might have more weight to carry  )

Fantastic. One of my favourite courses in GT4. 👍
Not sure what effect the extra weight will have on the Z going up those hills though, and I expect I'll get rumbled by Famine's Audi, Parnelli Bone's Mustang (now that it's shedding a few pounds again) and raz_10's Goat if he's able to get the PS2 to behave.

Actually this is one of MY favorite courses, too! :D I'm glad it's a 100-miler, too! See y'all at the Sears Point!

Hey so what happened to viperin? Was thinkng he'd show at Twin Ring.

Oh, and as Famine was saying, I *gulp* should have more of a weight penalty in both classes. I think that's what he was referring to.

Doin a good job, SuperShoulden. Let's all give him thanks!

Whaaaaa? But you have 5% extra weight in ST and 3% extra in GS. That Mustang's going to SUFFER from that 3% too. I mean, before it actually had LESS weight than stock. Now, it has more.

And that GTO should benefit from decreased weight, since it was VERY fast stock.

Welcome nostuner, hope you join us. I'm glad these races are on sport tires...racing tires have a tendency to erase too much of a car's natural handling in my opinion.

Sorry I was confused. I thought the weight gains & losses would be cumulative race after race until we couldn't add or subtract any more. That being said, I'm not sure what Famine was implying or meaning to say.

G'Day all,
Greetings from Oz.

I was pretty happy with my qualifying effort and had every intention of running the Race as well.
Ran out of time and motivation after clearing the decks on my other commitments.
I will enter the qualifying for Infineon, as I like the track, hopefully finding enough time to do justice to the full Race distance as well.

Cheers and good luck all.

There was a laptime/racetime discrepancy for your ST class race. If it was the racetime that was incorrect, I could have ended up with a 5% weight penalty - and I didn't want to run with 3% when I ought to run 5%.

What's going on world! :) See you guys have been busy! 👍 great times in the last round
Well I got my PS2 back in working conditions!
Will post some times soon.

Did you know there's supposed to be an apostrophe in "don't" & "didn't"?
Please use them in future, they're not just for decoration. ;)

Yeah I do know. I'll try to remember.

Can we post are split times?

Well, the Challenger and Camaro have been confirmed for GT5. That means they'll be in Season 2 of the GTPCTC. :P (If I can get my hands on a PS3 and the game in time. :))

Got it. Nope, you've got the 3%. I'll take 5.

Ah I see. I dont use arcade mode much so I didnt know that.

Only place in GT4 that you can race against real human intelligence outside of a lan setup or your buddy sitting beside you. :)

If I'm correct. T's can be discussed during the qualifying week. But not final times.

Time submitted. 23.297 - 1'10.064

Well, I've managed to get an early run in with each car. Not massively happy with the Civic here, but the Audi is ridiculous - it's either planted or oversteering

Did a few runs yesterday and...
T1 - 22.674
T2 - 1'08.767

Hurr.

T1 - 22.641
T2 - 1'08.588

That's not going to be close then  I think I'm pushing the edges of what I can do with GS class here. I've left something like 0.2-0.4s according to the data logger - didn't quite get the slow corner atop the hill right and could've been faster through the following downhill left - but otherwise I'm pleased enough. Wish I could say the same for ST class though.

G'Day all,

Times submitted.
Happy with my efforts, but had to stop trying as was getting too cold in my "game zone".
Decided a nice warm fire and some red wine was more attractive.

GS Class -
T1: 22.417
T2: 1 ' 08 . 732
Not quite as cautious this session. Found a few corners did not have to brake at all, as I normally would.
Nice Car is the Zed 👍

ST Class -
T1 : 24 . 321
T2 : 1 ' 14 . 245
Have no idea how this one will pan out, could not get anywhere near my best ghost on subsequent tries, so may be okay.
Felt like I had loosened a few fillings with all the juddering and shaking going on.
My old Passat never used to behave like that, very disconcerting :ouch:

^Cold? You should come up here viperin...it's gonna be 91 degrees F up here today. :yuck: I plan on spending much of today indoors.

Heavy Civic doesn't like uphills :(

T1: 24.488

(though my best was a 24.1, the rest of the lap wasn't quite so good). Heavy Civic is quite fond of downhills though...

T2: 1'13.651

Managed to go 1.7s quicker in 10 laps today than yesterday's effort, which I suppose shows that I was correct

I ran both the GTO and SRT4 yesterday. Pretty happy with the GTO's time, but the SRT4's fastest time contained two offroad excursions which I couldn't beat. So, today, I'll run some laps and submit the fastest clean lap of those.

But if you want some pointers, you could always watch the NASCAR race that takes place at Infenion today.
