GTPCTC Round 3 Qualifying

Oh cockles.
I need to run a lap for this, and have almost no time to do it given our current furniture fiasco which needs rectifying a.s.a.p.
Maybe I can squeeze a couple in now while my wife is on the phone to her folks in England.
Don't hold out much hope of cracking the 1'09 T2 barrier in the underpowered and overweighted Nissan. :scared:

*Edit* Seems fears are unjustified and I've grossly misunderestimated (to steal a Bush-ism) myself! Even with a total weight penalty of +10% to go with the HP setting of -15%, the Nissan eats this course for not just lunch, but breakfast, dinner, supper and a midnight snack too!
It may have something to do with this being my 2nd favourite course in the game (and my most local real-life course) but here's what I've just cracked out:

T1 22.348
T2 1'08.330

MAX Drive replay (NTSC format) available as ever for anyone that requests it. 👍

GL to all 👍

And Happy Father's day to those that are

Can't touch you guys in ST class...the MINI really is sluggish at this track. GS might be interesting though. :)

But if you want some pointers, you could always watch the NASCAR race that takes place at Infenion today.

Noooooo! That'll lead to some horrific accidents as people try to go straight on through the barrier at Turn 4!!!! :ouch:
Hang a sharp right there instead of following the NASCAR guys further down the hill onto the Stock Car Turn 4a or you'll be in trouble!

:scared: Nice lap Ricardo! 👍 Think your extra torque will see you clear at the line though...:(

Yeah, the SRT4 is fast through the uphill section, but slower through the downhill section. Which is odd to me. But at least I'll be able to keep up with you guys on this one.

[sarcasm]So THAT'S what I'm doing wrong[/sarcasm

Looks like some pretty close racing this round.
I bet Infineon is amongst the favorite tracks of more than one driver here 👍

^Cold? You should come up here viperin...it's gonna be 91 degrees F up here today. :yuck: I plan on spending much of today indoors.

I must admit I am not a big fan of very hot weather :yuck:
I can cope with the cold okay ( must be my viking blood :) ).

Was that a Sprintcup race ? If so, how did Marcus Ambrose go ?

Maybe I can squeeze a couple in now while my wife is on the phone to her folks in England.

Could she also phone the England Coach and ask why he is persisting in playing a striker who does not score goals ? :sly:

more off topic - I see the World Cup referees are performing up to their usual standard :grumpy: spoiling good games with awful decisions.
Also, it seems by the number of players going down like they have been shot, there must be a bunch of snipers in the stands !!!! :ill:

Later.

I don't know how Ambrose did. I didn't watch it. But a lot of the owners who had cars in other racing disciplines had their road-racing drivers come over and fill in for the normal NASCAR drivers. So, there were a lot of road-racers on track this time. I'm curious to see how the NASCARs fair at Road America. And with their new cars, nonetheless.

It's certainly one of my favorites. Always seems like I'm learning some new little tricks at this track.

I love cold weather, too. Just ask Leonidae; I've practically talked his ear off about how much I love snow, rain, overcast weather, hail, sleet...

on the other hand I hate really hot weather, unless I'm at a beach or a river, then it's okay.

Nice lap PB! 👍
I've sneaked by you by exactly 1/10th though! :sly:
Got to see what sort of a finish raz_10 got to his lap, as I think he'll have edged us both out. :scared:

When're the results coming & the next race being posted?

how about the results are up now. :P

Note: the top five positions in GS are made up of five different manufacturers.

Much thanks. Looking forward to the race. 👍

Cool! 👍
I really pushed hard on this one...
Great finish on GS!

I found my max drive if anyone is interested in looking @ my run!
See you @ the race....40 laps :scared:

Ah. So you guys were bluffing with the 1:08.xxx times at the 2nd time marker in GS? :sly: I'm glad I pushed my Stang that much further! Seriously thought I had made Pole matter of fact.

Indeed:

T2 - 1'08.333

Me
T2 - 1'08.330

We were within 3/1000ths of each other at T2, but I knew Ricardo's ride had the power advantage through the fast last sector.

So what was your T2 time then PB, and if it wasn't a sub-1'08, how in the name of 🤬 did you make up 6/10ths on me in the final sector?

:odd: this was my time what did you have?

1:07.740. Will post a pic tomorrow when I get on a real computer...

If you guys were making 1:08.3xx at T2, it means I must have blown a lot of time in those last few curves...which could be. That sweeper before the final corner (where all the sand is) kinda freaks me out.

Sorry it took so long...sometimes when I send something from my cell phone it gets to Lycos mail immediately, other times it'll take days for some reason. Some sort of discrephancy between T-mobile and Lycos I suppose.
