There weren't many 1:18s. There were only a few AUTOarts and some other brands. I was looking at a Norev Peugeot 908 2011 and that cost $69. I didn't look at the price of the others. Like I said it was basically just 1:43 model.

Yeah and Norevs aren't great. That's why their so cheap. The wheels don't even turn on mine. But at Barrett-Jackson, all of the AutoArts and Nirevs and Minichamps an Sparks and etc are fairly cheap there.

From the flea market for $6. Jada Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Police. (Reminded me of NFS: HP 2010) :D

I think Norevs are nice. The 908 looked pretty good and I have a Type 930 Porsche 911 Turbo by them that was $80. I think it's rather nice.

It depends on which ones you pick I guess. But I love to go to the car shows and seeing the model selections, because you never know what will be there. I usually get the lesser-known more rare/unique cars.

Yea I always love checking out the vendors. I love how they have tons of older LMPs, I had to go through the one store about five times to decide which model I wanted to get. Was thinking of a Toyota Minolta 89CV to go with my 88CV but didn't wanna spend so much.

Yeah. I've been looking on the Internet for hours today and I've found some rare candidates I would like for my collection.

A good site I found is Carmodeller.com. It's where I got my Minolta 88CV model from and they have tons of LMPs and older race cars. It doesn't really say what's out of stock though.

I have a 908 by them, looks lovely. Doesn't matter to me that it does not open, still looks good.

I was looking at a 908 by them at a car show and if I had more money on me I would've got it. I thought it was quite nice.

Pretty cool how you got 1:18 scale representations of your cars ibo. :) Any plans of possibly customizing them to look more exact or will you be keeping them stock?

Wish there was a scale model of my 1997 Subaru Outback...

That GTO is so byoootipull :dopey:

Sorry to get off topic and removing Venom's spotlight, but what are some cheap 1/24 model kits? I just got my 1/24 Miata N6BC since it was a fairly cheap price and going expensive on the kits wont be worth it.

lol, thanks :D
Well, given most stores that used to sell model kits no longer do, you pretty much are limited to hobby shops or online retailers. When I lived in NorCal, pretty much all the local hobby shops shut down due to poor sales. What few that didn't shut down moved to different areas.

Anyway I was re-organizing models so I decided to take a pic of all my presentable 1/18 models together.
There are quite a few models missing. I didn't show my damaged/work in progress models, and it is also missing a bunch of models still in Cali (most all budget diecasts). Anyway this pic has 129 1/18 models from various manufactures. Click the thumbnail, since the pic is HUGE:

I spy a 787B, Dauer 962, a V12 LMR, an Audi R8 LMP, A Peugeot 905, a Marlboro Mclaren or Penske, a Yellow looking PenskePC, and a few other open wheelers I can't make out.

Venom800tt : Massive !!! Some really nice models in there 👍

A NISMO BCNR33 Skyline GTR R-Tune?!?! tup:

Me sooooo jelly.

Yes in light grey. Will also post pic of it next time

lol, no V12 LMR in there, though I wish I had one...
And the Marlboro Penske is a PC-23, while the Pennzoil Penske is a March 84C, also known as the Penske Pennzoil Z7.

Thanks! :)

I might have to take some new pics of it soon...

Ack that thing is amazing. Who makes it? Is it a custom job? WANTTT

Well, it started off as a regular Highway 61 '70 Challenger T/A 340. I had it stock for about a year or two after getting it back in 2005. I got bored with the model, so I tried a wheel swap, which looked nice, but not angry enough. Those wheels were 16" Torq Thrust wheels made by GMP. I ended up replacing them with another set of GMP Torq Thrust style wheels that were 18", along doing all sorts of other modes. Here is a list of things I did:
Lowered
GMP 18" wheels with disk brakes (simulated carbon brakes)
GMP MOPAR 426 Hemi crate motor
GMP bucket seats and steering wheel
Fire bottle
Re-did the exhaust due to the engine swap (need to fix it though)
Painted all chrome matte black
Relocated battery to the trunk

I still need to lower it a hair in the back and fix the front axles (too much camber). Also might do a roll cage or roll bar, along with possibly giving it a flat bottom for improved aerodynamics. I have even considered replacing the leaf sprung rear end with double wishbone suspension. Basically, I wanted this to be a 220 mph track ready beast of a car.

Anyway a couple old pics of the car...

Very awesome job on the car. Try some BBS-shod slicks on it to really achieve the hardcore look. The custom chin spoiler is awesome. Pics of interior and engine?

Nah, can't seem to find any interior/engine pics. I'll have to take some in the morning since I got work tonight. Anyway thanks :)

That's why I'm in love with that Challenger, has something unique about it that stands out among your collection.

And who is this GMP company? Do they make parts to mod out model cars of all makes?

Hehe, thanks :)
GMP was a company that specialized in 1/18 muscle/pony cars, hot rods, and some high end race Ferraris. They also made 1/18 accessories such as wheel/tire sets, garage sets, car lifts, trailers, etc. Sadly GMP died a couple years back due to bank issues (bank went bust, among other issues). The main people from GMP ended up starting a new company called ACME (lol), which makes a few of the muscle cars GMP made, along with some of their hot rods. I think some of GMP's accessories are also made by ACME now.

Anyway here are a few more quick pics of some of the details on the Challenger:

Very cool. The quality of the "crate engine" is quite high, I love that you left the original air cleaner on it. Great work on the car overall.
