According to Apex's website this is their first diecast car with opening parts they've produced, i ordered this back in October so really happy that its finally here:lol:

Thanks for that. I don't have any planes in my collection yet but when I get some spare cash Ill have to get some. Do you have a SR-71 Blackbird or know who makes one?

You didn't ask me, but I do have that Matchbox SR-71 that's looking for a new home. I've no use for it anymore. Interested?

I would be but the cost of sending just one plane to Australia from Canada wouldn't make it worth it and I shouldn't really buy big bulk lots anymore as I am going to buy a house and there are a couple of other things Id like more than a bulk lot of planes or cars. But thanks for the offer.

The open model can easily fetch 500 Euros. There's a closed version on evil bay Bid 450 or so in White. Suffice to say I paid less than 2/3s. It's a resin model, these are usually closed. The only thing that lets it down are those awful doglegs on the bonnet.

That is one of the most detailed model cars i've ever seen.
Really? <confused> You should scroll back to posts 7030, 7064 or 8396.

Yes, and yes, why do you ask? <curious>
I have my eye on a white One-77 but I believe he's asking too much.

I heard/read that real rubber tyres on the diecast have a tendency to turn white/grey if not protected from humidity...

Progress is going to be slow. I stopped half way because I felt the nail polish might have been getting too cold to operate on the airbrush.

Will resume when no one's at home. So I can take the work down to the basement washroom.

Progress was indeed hella slow. I didn't bother working during the winter season and waited until now where I can run the airbrush kit in the garage where my toes and fingers aren't freezing now that it's summer.

The paint is still uneven and given how long it takes to do even one coat, I really lost the patience to do a better job. I've topped the rugged surface with numerous coats of clear, and that is it so far. All that's left now is to wetsand, polish, wax and reassemble.

Those Saubers:drool:

Got my latest car delivered on Friday,

Biante 1:18 Dick Johnson/Kevin Bartlett 1983 Bathurst XE Falcon:D

IMAG0531.jpg

Real car had actual sheepskin seat covers fitted in race trim:tup:
IMAG0533.jpg

the car crashed heavily into a tree during qualifying but was fixed by using a donor car for parts. Dick often says that the warm-up lap on raceday was used to dry the paint:lol:

and lastly my 4 DJR cars all lined up together:)

For the sake of keeping loading stuff on this page quicker, you can find more photos in full-resolution in my blog post. :)

I got in touch with the local owner of a slammed red/white '60s VW Bug. Chances are, my next project will be creating something close to it.

Hi guys, not new to the site, but just found this thread, much drooling has been happening.

Some great collections you guys have. Some money around :P

That money around is normally going to the model shop in these parts. Secretly were all broke because we seen an XXXXX that we just couldn't turn down

And another

And another

Just literally got sniped for the Spark 1:43 Alpine A450 (2013 LMP2) on eBay.

Damn that person for ruining my Frenchmau5 dreams...

Nism0_skyline. You oughta get up displays cabinets and shadow boxes if you can. Presentation is half the beauty of any collection. 👍
