Here we go...
Manufacturers;
Revell: I have just 1 (69 corvette stingray, see gallery in sig), fairly decent interior, exterior, well proportioned, good for the money, sealed boot, but opening doors and bonnet, some models have wheel problems (glue or something i'll try get a pic tomorrow of some i know of).
Maisto: Good value for money, good proportions, newer models are getting better and better, they mass produce a hell of a lot of models, worth checking out thier range, havent had many problems with maisto
Bburago: Now bankrupt and are owned by maisto, but will continue to create new models under the same name as a seperate division. Slightly less detailed than maisto, but good still pretty good for the money. Older models lacking in detail.
Ricko: Ive seen a few and tempted to buy, but they just dont make the models i want! Not bad in terms of detail about on par with Bburago or inbetween that and Maisto. Havent seen many of these about.
Other manufacturers who make models at about this level include Ertl and Yat ming, with UT being the best of that bunch and at the bottom of the pile welly and motormax. Retailing at between £10 and £30 respectively ( prepare to pay a lot more for certain UT models, thier bankrupcy in 2001 means some go for big £££.)
Stepping up a level there is autoArt, Minichamps, Biante, Highway 61 and ertls Authentics range. Generally coming in at around £30-£60
And if you really wanna go full hog you could always pay an arm and a leg for such models as CMC, Exoto, GMP, Lane and BBR. Lane and GMP being the cheapest of these at around £50-£100, Exoto at about £100-any price you can think of, and CMC and BBR at around £130-£300.
Thats about as much manufacturer info as you'll need
In my opinion the best ones are UT, Highway 61 and GMP in terms of value for money.
Ok stop me now, sorry for the essay...
