GTP WTAC's first session of 2011 ended with pvr77 and myself tightly locked at 3rd place right after the THE RING Challenge in Germany. I say we break that TIE this week! LET's GET IT ON!
In 1933, Adolf Hitler gave the order to Ferdinand Porsche to develop a Volkswagen (literally, "people's car" in German,). The epithet Volks- literally, "people's-" was also applied to other Nazi sponsored consumer goods such as the Volksempfänger ("people's radio"). Hitler required a basic vehicle capable of transporting two adults and three children at 100 km/h (62 mph).
Initially called the Porsche Type 60 by Ferdinand Porsche, the car was officially named the KdF-Wagen by Hitler when the project was launched. The name refers to Kraft durch Freude ('Strength Through Joy'), the official leisure organization in the Third Reich. It was later known as the Volkswagen Type 1, but became more commonly known as the Beetle after World War II.
Hi guys! RED ICE here. This is my 2nd attempt at DUEL time attack. PVR77 has accepted my invitation thus I entitle this:
1. Track : BEGINNER COURSE-reverse
2. Car : VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE 1100 STANDARD (TYPE-11) '49
3. Car specifics :
- Transmission: either
- Tires: N1 / N1
- TCS : off
- ASM : off
- Active Steering : off
- Driving Physics : Professional
All in-game quick-tune options are at your disposal (Press Triangle when selecting your car to add the car to your favorites and tinker with any available settings).
Hybrid cars, the use of CFW tuning or any other way of cheating (such as the Action Replay for PSP) is forbidden...
DURATION OF THE CHALLENGE WILL BE FROM:
MARCH 2, 2011 6:00pm (GMT+3:00)
until
MARCH 9, 2011 6:00pm (GMT+3:00)

Clean or Dirty lap :
- Colliding with or using walls, fences, cones or other obstacle is forbidden. All times submitted must be 100% wall free.
- Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the tarmac which does not include all green/grassed/sanded/graveled areas.
Rumble/ripple strips/inside white line :
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's inside rumble strips/white line and two off track is considered unclean
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's outside rumble strips/white line and two off track is considered clean.

). My time is a little faster than yours but I got a really lucky last corner. I turned in quite sharply and then just left the steering and continued to accelerate and the car seemed to follow the racing line by itself!
