Track: Opera Paris Forward

Hi there ! I'll try to run some laps this afternoon ! Are you going to compete too lbsf1 ??? Please ?

EDIT :

I ran a 2-lap test with each car :

- Audi S4 '03 : 1'34.269
- Jaguar S-TYPE R '02 : 1'35.967
- BMW M3 '04 : 1'36.204
- Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG '00 : 1'39.257 :yuck:

I'll focus on the Audi, and I definitely won't use the Mercedes (again... is that me or this car isn't as good as the others ???)

I will compete but please be aware I'm useless on a psp. I struggled to get past the qualifier you originally put on.

Hey guys, just got GT and a psp last week... pretty excited to find such a forum. Havent done any true racing physics games but Im hoping with a little more experiance Ill be putting up respectable times. First run with the Audi was 1'38.204, after like 10-15 laps. I havent messed with the tuning much but will that make much difference?? Oh yea and I read through the rules but I dont remeber seeing anything about the driving line... ON?OFF?
Thanks and see ya in the rear view... eventually

Welcome SkiggitySk@ !!!

Glad to see you in this competition ! And as long as your laps are clean, no matter how fast are your times they will be respectable ;) !!! We do have some experience around here and the laptimes you can see us doing might give you a hard time at first, but they will be yours if you keep on coming racing with us ! This is how you can improve : pushing your limits to catch up with faster guys !

About the tuning, yes it does help at one point but you can do amazing laps without tuning ! And about the driving line, don't depend on it : my advice is that you first run 10 laps without to find your braking points and above all to make mistakes (you learn how to handle the car better that way cause you focus on staying on the track and being clean, not following the line !) use it for 5 laps max to check if your braking point are better than the one it suggests and then without it. I usually watch the blinking red lights and wait for the third one to brake and shift down the gear. If you run too much with the driving line, you'll be addicted to it and you'll run on a line not on a track : you'll lose your feeling-the-car's skill ;) ! Very bad when you have to run with other cars...

Well, I saw improvement thanks to quick tune !

- Audi S4 '03 : 1'33.386

I think I'll be in the 1'32.xxx (don't know about a 1'31.xxx ...) but I'll take a break to go to Tokyo !

Still just working on my driving, was using auto tranny at first, now trying to get the hang of manual. I'm starting to think it wont help much at my skill level. I switched the shifters to the triggers. I guess I'm asking if I should stick with AT for now or just tough it out for the MT payoff? I'm assuming you guys are MT. Where's your guys shifters?

Audi 1'37.160
As impossible as shaving 4-5 seconds off seems....
I'm determined lol
Too bad its finals next week and mechanical engineering takes entirely too much of ones free time...
Hey easy you seem like a really cool dude, you think if I pm you a replay you could give me a little constructive criticism?

Thanks for the compliment but I really don't think I would be a good adviser : I'm not the fastest drivers nor the best tuner and every drivers has its own driving style ! Your driving style depends on your driving skills, the tuning you gave to your car according to your own personal driving preferences and so on... There are too many things that have consequences on your driving style/performances to be able to give the advice YOU actually need... Sorry man... But I can give you my tuning and my splits so that you can compare and see where you lose precious time ! And you can still post your replay here, who knows ?

Splits :

0'17.378
0'52.178
1'32.867

Tuning :

[-- --] [-25 -20]
[6 8] [7 9]
[-0.10 0] [1.6 0.8]

But, again, I'm not the best driver/tuner and tuning is very personal, it might not suit your driving style !

Good luck !

EDIT : added replay + photo

Well even just that information goes a long way. Also nice to see some sort of reference on tuning ( I realize this is to fit YOUR style ). But that being said I'll be paying more attention to what my style IS, and how to tune accordingly... planning on some second shaving to go down this afternoon.

EDIT:
I like your style! hahaha jk but with your tuning im in the 36's.
I'll be trying to find my own groove for the remainder of the morning.

Nice 👍 ! When you think you're are maxed out with this tuning, try the default settings... Because there are two factors of you being faster : tuning and experience ! Sometimes you're faster just because you've got experience with the car/track combo (you had a 1'37.160 lap so the logical thing that would happen is that you run a 1'36.xxx lap even without tuning), use tuning default setting and you might have a surprise (Detroitbb and I did have the surprise to find out that it looked like our tuning made the car worse than it was without tuning ;)... and then had to rethink all the tuning !)

Good luck !

Hello everyone!!!
I never took part in any gt tac so that one will be my first. I have to say that I am amazed that some of you are able to clock anything below 1.34. So far my best is 1.36.033 with Audi. BTW I have quick question. Rules says that you can't bump the walls (that's obvious) so are we allowed to go onto those red white markings at the road's egde? Thanks!

Thanks for the screenshot ;) !

Welcome !!! About the rules, I'm very surprised that lbsf1 hasn't ansewered your question yet ! I'm not the host but according to what we usually do with urban tracks, I would say as long as your lap is 100% wall free, it's clean ! So don't worry about anything else... I guess...

Good luck !

Well, my PSP was lost for months, but I found it!!! So now, I hope I can join in soon.

Will be done soon. :)

My mum seems for some reason that you need to revise 5 hours a day on a school holiday.

She can't be wrong about that ;) ! Really, I had the same : 9 am to 12 am and 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm, afternoon free !

Good luck ;) !
