I suddenly realized what a blast we are having on the forums this month. It so much fun getting bombarded with news almost daily from various sources. As usual the vagueness of new stuff creates a massive discussion where we constantly argue on what it truly means.

We are having this nice feeling of waiting a new game that we have waited for too long (personally since GT5 end). Very exciting new stuff were announced that we can't wait to try out. But most importantly we have our huge company to share all these new things and have fun and debates.

Even the GT is not a racing game issue has given me tons of entertainment. Magog's endless optimism, Samus infinite negativity, Imari's post about Magog and Kaz having a romantic night are things that give a special flavor in this period.

I just want to thank GTPlanet for giving us the best online community (out of all my endless hobbies) and can't wait to share with all of you the coming days of GT7 and beyond. I'm having a blast and I can't wait for the future!!

Lots of love to everyone!

Can we not celebrate trolls harassing me constantly with no moderation like it's a wonderful thing, please?

I would like to state my thanks to the writers at GT planet for their excellent articles and vast knowledge they share via the boards. Also thanks to the 95% of regular users here that don't feel the need to attack their fellow users and endlessly spew negativity but instead are here to constructively discuss the game.

People disagreeing with your opinions is not harassment. And there is moderation - not taking action on posts that don't break the AUP is a moderation action.

Perhaps, if you just want to say things and not get challenged on them, you should start a blog and not allow any comments on it.
I'm glad to have discussions. The post he is referring to isn't a discussion it's harassment.

Little do you know that Kaz is going to turn up on his doorstep tonight with a bunch of roses and a bottle of champagne.

Kaz stands there stoically as Magog looks up into his eyes. There is silence for a long moment, and then Kaz puts his hand on the small of Magog's back and leads him inside. He puts the roses and champagne on the table and gently closes the front door.

"Thank you," he whispers gently in Magog's ear.

Two hours later the neighbours call in a noise complaint.

It was a humorous post with no ill intentions I presume.

Are we going to fight even on our appreciation thread? 🤣

Implied homosexuality as an insult is immature behavior even on an elementary school playground. Given the usual trolls here constantly attack me at every opportunity it's fair to say there is plenty of ill intent.

Not to de-rail this thread at it's infancy, but since you've raised a point here I'd just like to adress one observation i have about your posts and the rection you tend to get. You're most certainly optomistic, and there's nothing inherrantly wrong with this, a bit of optomism in life isn't a bad thing.

However, I think you have a habit of presenting your optomisitc outlook of what may happen as though it will happen. To illustrate, saying something along the lines of "perhaps the physics will be improved in these ways" is very different to stating "the physics will be improved in these ways". That's one word "perhaps" completley changes the context of a post.

If you get into the habit of framing opinion as opinion better and not implying it is fact you'll probably find you get challenged less, bluntly let's say, and though people will still vary in agreement or disagreement with you, you might find it more productive overall.

I love that this thread is dripping in irony already.

Personally I'm very much looking forward to GT7. As soon as cross platform was confirmed it was obvious this was only going to be GTSport with a proper single player element but I've made my peace with that. The returning classic tracks and specifically the wet weather implementation have grabbed my interest. And music rally of course.

I want to know more about Sport Mode but everything we've heard strongly suggests its exactly the same as what we have now.

Roll on 4th March 😃

And I get called out on it. People give extremely negative opinions and predictions and never get called out on it because a small subset of users have normalized hating on the game so much it has become a given to be negative even when Kaz or PD makes a factual statement about improvements.

I think more players adopt an approach of “actions speak louder than words” so whilst words and images at least seem highly credible (they usually are if it’s from PD themselves), players want to see this in action for themselves before making a final judgement.

Regarding Kaz's statements, unfortuantely he has a history of making statements that are either exagerrated or don't come to pass (iit happens with other games too of course). That's not to say, you would be wrong to point to a statement he makes as evidence of something, but at the same time the proof may be in the pudding and we'll see if that's the case wen we actaully see it.

As for getting called out for being optomistic, perhaps just start my making an effort to frame your optomism as opinion better and see if that changes. People will alwas agree and disagree with you on a forum and I get, if you are an optomistic persona nd 5 people are dissagreeing with you all at once, it can feel a bit of an over reacction, but there are people who push back at those with a more pessamistic view too. But honestly, try framing opinion as opnion better and see how you go. You'll always get disagreements but maybe from your perspective, they could start to feel less hostile.

I was told long ago by a woman who makes a living correcting PhD papers that saying "in my opinion" in a situation where it can easily be implied you are giving an opinion is bad English. It's a forum. We don't have to state IMO at the beginning of every speculative sentence. It's implied.

Firstly, it's not, it's a joke based on another user's post about your white-knighting.

Secondly, you're bitching about this and about the apparent inaction of moderation staff right here in public in this thread (somewhat proving the point made by the first post) but at no point did you bother to report this post to the moderators.

Now, I'm already pretty bored of you stating insane stuff as fact and feelings as reasoning, and citing sources that don't agree with you, but now you're trying to turn public threads into your own personal dirty laundry airing platform - while crapping on the site staff because you seem to think we should all have a sixth sense for people challenging your opinions and jump in to protect you from any criticism.

That boredom will change if this continues.

Edit: OMG, what did I literally just say?

Great thread so far  to get back on track, I agree, it's very fun checking back almost everyday to see if more information has come again! After many hard years in my life now this game is something I feel I can get excited about again. Only 3 weeks away now!

Opinion and fact are often discussed here, you dont have to use IMO before everything you post, but to put your comments into context is most certainly not bad English. It's poor to not provide context and leave that to the reader except in specific cases, for example where expectations are meant to be subverted. The purpose of a discussion here is not to subvert the expectations of the reader.

Starting a post with IMO every time is not necessary, but include something to provide context somewhere.

Look, I'm not trying to argue, I'm trying to give you some friendly advice. If you choose to ignore it that's up to you, but maybe you could listen to it, try to put it into practice and see if it makes a difference.

Off topic:

The joke was funny but who is say it was implying homosexuality? Why couldn't you and Kaz been playing a secret build of GT7 with volume on 11 because Kaz wants you to hear the new sounds they are testing (and we would probably never hear)?

On topic:

The impending launch of a new title is always a good time! We are guessing as to what will be included and how such and such feature will be implemented. I can't wait until March 4!

This thread is amazing 😅

However, I'm gonna stay on topic. I don't mind other people being negative, and having a perhaps overly pessimistic outlook on the game. That does not affect me, it does not affect my excitment for the game, so .. I don't care :) Everyone is entitled to their opinions, that's all fine and dandy.

I'm very hyped for GT7, and these last days before release are exciting, and I'm sure will continue in this way, with a steady stream of new information and footage.

Can't wait to buy a used cheapo box and have some fun.

Happy almost GT7 everyone! :D

Most of my posts will probably sound negative to most, but I believe that the bigger the love is during a relationship, the bigger the hate is when it ends. I loved GT1 till GT5. 6 was a disappointment and Sport is not my kind of game since its so heavily focused on online gaming. I really hope GT7 will give me those GT4 feelings all over again. In fact, I never thought I would do it, but I pre-ordered the 25th anniversary edition for PS4/5 so I'm also on the hype train right now. Just hoping that the first DLC cars will fill in the blanks for me.

And thanks to GTPlanet for this forum!

Most of my posts have been drivel anyway, but GTP has more or less been a clash of two sides since GT4 really.

I’m at a point now where it doesn’t really matter because “it’s only game, why do you have to be mad?”

That being said, my hype for GT7 is perhaps the most hype I’ve been since GT5.

I get barked at for my optimism and emotional quips, hopes, theories and vague memory of things concerning many of my posts. Sometimes I bark back. Sometimes I “L. I. G.” it. It’s okay to block people forever or until you’re ready to interact with what everyone have to say. Some members have/can be idiotic. Some toxic, but gtp handles this very well. It’s a safe place. Have a cookie. I promise, by the time you‘re done eating it, you’ll feel as rain.

I’m not sure how any of this ended up in an appreciation thread. Imari’s “joke” made me wash my eyes in a strong chemical substance. Now I’m blind, but I’ll try to enjoy GT7 anyway.

I'm enjoying myself, that's all that matters to me, be it from the excellent news coverage, interesting infers from such, or... the other aspects of the forums  Thanks to GTP I never have to click on any other ad bombarded site offering half baked information with poor citation, and if I've any doubts, the authors are never hard to find 👍

I've grown up with Gran Turismo since the first game. Every time I spend a phase of my life with it, I find that it really changes me to be a better person, and yes, part of that is making me look deeper into things and becoming more constructively critical of them. GT Sport for example, made me a much faster and safer driver who doesn't simply resort to sliders on a car to make it faster, and opened my eyes to svg files. Of course, part of that "making me a better person" is also in training me to become more constructively critical of a product, be it a car ot a game. There are many, many issues with GTS, as pointed out by the many other more experienced users here eloquent enough to arriculate their experience with other sims or IRL. That to me is simply priceless.

Hard to believe its been more than 4 years since Sport launched. I don't even remember the sort of person I was back then or how I had anticipated the game without my favourite FD RX-7. I look forward to coming back to these posts some 2 years down the line to see just how right or wrong we are about the game.

GTPlanet is a place of enlightenment. Revealed to me is knowledge which transforms my understanding of what a game like Gran Turismo truly is.

I have learned that is it is not a racing game, but a driving game.

I have learned that it is not a game at all, instead, it is a simulator.

I have learned that the physics are definitely going to see a big improvement in Gran Turismo 7.

Lastly, Music Rally is the one, the only, and the way.

I love this place. It’s a ride that never ends, and the lead up to a new GT game is always memorable. There’s always a debate somewhere if I want some entertainment, or if I want to sit back and scroll through the latest posts in threads I’m interested in, I can, and that, I find, is just a cozy thing. GTPlanet is a cozy forum, it feels like a nice little corner with a comfy chair and a lamp and a nice warm beverage sitting on a side table.
