GTPLMS Round 10 Results and Final Standings

GTP Le Mans Series
Monterey Sports Car Championships​

The last race of the year is in the books, and Champions are to be crowned. First off a quick race-report.
Qualifying had 4 different drivers win poles in the 4 different classes. Prototypes saw RACECAR win pole in P1 and ICallShotgun win P2 in a clerical error by another competitor.
Grand Touring Sport had driver Ballstothewall win pole, while part-timer GTXDriver nabbed the GT pole.

Races were much of the same that has been the last few races. RACECAR wins P1, ICallShotgun wins both P2 and GTS, and Ballstothewall continued the Drewpyballs dominance in GT.

As the last race of the season concludes, the Drivers and Manufacturer's championships ended with some tight points battles, but in the end...

I want to thank everyone who participated in my series, but mostly to those that made the effort to race in all, or most of, the events. The last 3 events were extremely poorly attended, but those that did race found that a HUGE shift in points resulted.
This was also my first GTP series, and was a huge learning experience for me. This will, however, not be my last series, as this is fun! If you liked racing with me, be on the lookout for more GTMSA sponsored events, as there are a few in the works including season 2.
And if you all know someone who'd enjoy the GTMSA atmosphere, and maybe get some of the old guard back into this stuff (could be fun), I'll always have room in the entry list for anyone.

Congrats to all who have stuck with this series!
And especially to our chief steward Chris, Racecar, and all who have done better than they thought they would.

Nearly a clean sweep from me this week Chris! Only the race-time in the MacLaren let me down.
And not to blow my own trumpet, but I did only do each race once, and everything in one day. Including the times for the Mazda Cup, it was a busy day.
Drew sends his apalowgees( ), but is crippled with a prolapsed disk at the mo!

Chris you did a fantastic job and I would be proud to race under your leadership again. So sorry for the last few races, what with work, family visiting, the Holidays and lately my back I was unable to fulfill my obligations the way I wanted. It was all my personal problems that made me miss, I just don't want you thinking it was anything to do with you or the series.
I'm looking forward to the next series you manage. Thanks again....great fun although I never got comfy with the Mac, guess the RX7 is the only car I can drive anymore!!!
