GTP Le Mans Series
Chevrolet Presents Running through the Hills

Apricot Hill was kind to some, and brutal to others, and another round of GTPLMS competition is in the books.

Qualifying
Prototype 1 qualifying had driver east blow away the competition with what could be described as one of the best qualifying efforts of the season, while in P2, ICallShotgun took poll in a very small field.
Grand Touring had east edging out DrewpyBalls OAP in both GTS and GT for polls in both classes
Races

The races painted a different picture from qualifying however. In Prototype 1, driver east continued to be the class of the field, winning by 16 seconds. P2 had ICallShotgun win for the 2nd week in a row as Delfino suffered difficulties throughout the race.
GTS was thrown for a loop as newcomer east took the top spot, shocking DrewpyBalls OAP with a stunning upset in an extremely close race. Top three finishers were within 2.5 seconds of each other. Grand Touring saw more of the same, with Drew22 and Ballstothewall going 1-2, and series veteran oldphart with a surprising 3rd in his Ford GT LM.

Congratulations to all finishers in this halfway point in the season. Points battles are shaping up to be extremely close down the stretch. On to Grand Valley

Wow!

Congrat's to all, damn close racing guys!

@ East!

Nice time in the Mac there buddy!

Neil

Very tight racing !
Once again ...  to my friends Andy and Neil 👍

Missing Le Mans really put a pinch in my attempt to catch you guys :(

Feeling much better 👍

And what Andy and I have is "old man" disease

@ East!

Nice time in the Mac there buddy!
Thanks, I ran a two stop race on Mediums. You were right about why my tyre wear was even from front to rear, its just my driving style, im always pushing the front tyres to the limit at every possible moment.

Yeah! Thought so!

You may well be the main contender for the DrewpyBalls team.
However, you may find that on more abrasive tracks, your driving style will have to change. I did!
Some tracks you can push the fronts and get away with it, others, you can't.
It's all a balancing act between tyre-wear, lap-times and track-knowledge.
Some corners/tracks are tyre friendly, others are not!
And the real skill is knowing where to push and where to ease off.
The skill, is knowing which is which, what is what, and driving accordingly!

Aaahh!

Decrepiditus!
The inability to string together cogent sentences, thoughts, and actions!

I forgot the point of my post!

Bugger!

Sorry it took so long to get descriptions up, but other things have pulled me away from LMS this week...this week ONLY. I'm back and better than ever.
Shotgun Racing Press Release

Apricot Hill was not too kind to Shotgun racing this week. Struggling all week with scheduling conflicts, driver ICallShotgun has very limited track-time in all classes and it showed in times.

When asked about his performance this week, Gun had this to say: "I don't know what we were doing all week long. The scheduling was horrible. No practice, no testing, just get in the seat and go. I'm very surprised about the win in P2, it seems [fellow P2 driver]Delfino had problems in the race, which gives us the win, but this week we'll take what we can get."

The Driver's points chase was particularly kind to Shotgun Racing this week. In P1, Shotgun Racing climbed to the #2 spot behind Delfino. "A couple more good races, and I think we've got him. Grand Valley is good to us, and Trial Mtn. could go either way.
For P2, Shotgun extended it's lead over Delfino to 5 points. "We just can't let up for a second, or Del will be all over us...it's exhausting"
GTS had Ballstothewall take a couple points from Shotgun's 2nd place standing. "Neils a great racer, and if it wasn't for his bad luck at Infineon (finished 5th), we'd be in 3rd right now"
GT has been a struggle all season to get the BMW up to speed of the other guys. "On a short, twisty track, the M3 is king, but the straightaway speed is killing us on these long tracks. First LeMans, now Hill? Never thought I'd say this, but bring on AutumnRing."
