It's just too depressing to talk about it.

Anyway, I might have fixed the diff on my problem child of a Nissan, but I can't be bothered to get back to driving it now.

Done. 👍

Sweet~!

What do you have planned for us all, DB?!

300hp FF sounds terrifying enough though.

You know how sometimes you just start playing with something and you start to like it? Yeah, that. It drives better with about 50 less HP (obviously) but it's in the ball park...I think. If nothing else it should be different from everything else.

@Mat - Join up with the WRS! Even if you're "slow" I guarantee you'll learn something new about going fast. :D There's no commitment/obligation but what you make for yourself.

Well, the MR-2 had a chance; I didn't.

I'm always at my best in time attacks, weirdly.

But seriously, I don't want to discuss my driving anymore. I'm just preparing to start the next Touge classes.

Mat, look at it this way you're still a better driver than me.

I can see improvement for you; unlike for me, I just can't seem to get better than I already was. In fact, I get worse overtime.

But anyways, please, just ignore my rant. I just really need to let things out.

Maybe it's not your driving in particular. but rather you've peaked your skills on this certain type pf track. You said you race primarily on The Nurb and Akina maybe a change in local would do you good and give you fresh Ideas. Try other tracks that have sections you find yourself either super slow or just not able to hang on to and practice there and run 4-5 laps at Akina or the Nurb to keep in practice. It's not a scientific fact it works but I don't doubt it will bring a few fresh challenges to light.

^ well, hopefully a depressed Mat can work out of his funk. we're all here for him and we've all had our moments.

We were at Akina.

Best we can do for him is to…uh…leave him to sulk in the corner of the room while we run the show here so that he can come back refreshed. Or something.

Thinking of posting up my FEED/Fujita Engineering FD3S for Class 500.

Just need to get a regular RX-7 FD3S Spirit-R as the one I've been driving is my hybrided one with Amemiya Chassis (for Tire Width Increase and Body Downforce), 18k Spring Rates and 4.100 Final Drive. Still on 2.11 by the way, haha.

Well, after my consecutive losses at LotS (Legend of the Streets), my will to drive has been taken away from me.

You win some; you lose some... Well, I never actually experienced a win! My expectations are probably too high... I just really suck at driving.

Anyways, enough of my self expression on my driving. Testers, if you're in need of any car from the list, don't hesitate to ask me. 👍

Look at it this way, Mat.

I have been in L.O.T.S. since its inception and I haven't had winning ways in all two years of its running. I lose far more often than I win but I never let that get me down. Maybe because I'm not overzealous for the win and I don't always use the easiest and most obvious cars to drive. Or maybe because I switch cars every season and never take the time to settle in or master any specific car. That's also due to the fact that LOTS is my testing rig for all my touge tunes. As I collect all the data gained from battles into honing the cars' setups.

We all start out in a slump, even a losing steak. Believe me, I've made it fashionable in my time there  but that's the only way you'll ever get better. Only by realizing where you're failing and by practicing on various courses will you hone your technique and win battles.

Keep ya head up, good times are coming.

Why don't you actually post a tune that isn't a replica of a tuned car? 💡

Hei
We were at Akina.

I'm saying practice elsewhere to bring fresh challenges to the plate. I learned alot running laps in my FGT at Spa and Monza. My learning was in Throttle and Brake control which I'm still learning. But, sometimes you get in to a rut. I don't know if any of you guys play any instruments but the same principal applies. If you get to a point where your stuck musically try looking at other Genre's and try to see what you can learn because it can bring something to the table that other players didn't think would be an issue.

Like how driving in dirty rooms taught me how to drive a car to it's limits, without fear of being kicked for accidental contact because you know, everyone's trying to kill each other.

Anyways, seeing some of these Akina times posted, I think I've actually created a semi-decent car with a time of 3:07.

^Kinda sorta.

Btw, jealous of your time. I'm having troubles getting Sub 3:10's again. But I love the feel of my T300/400 cars right now.

Is someone lost?

We are still in T200 and the final battles are still being held.

Mat needs to break his rut/funk

I am jealous of Cybertron's times and am way out of practice.

Anything you missed just ask.

He was asking whether your sub 3:10 laps were for T200.

Yeah, I just started driving with out the driving line and I'm in a car I have never tuned for grip before and it's showing a bit. Although, I can slap CH on either of T300-400 cars and I have one heck of a drift car. Oooh so much control.

Hei
We were at Akina.

I'm not so great at Akina these days. I feel like I'm driving against my will there. I'm quite good at Aokigahara, however.

Anyways, I'm just gonna leave it behind now.

Keep in mind that last season's T300 champion ran a 2:55 around Akina in my hands. That's barely 3 seconds slower than a 500PP CSL.

Off-Topic: GT5 is so old and stale. I really can't wait for GT6. Even a physics improvement will really bring life to the game for me, as long as the suspension modelling works as it should. Otherwise, tuning is going to be a pain for me.

"Barely". That's a huge chunk of time, rob.

Yea, but it's still 2 months off from the release of the demo. The "Race through a village in the mountains using any course you want from the streets" sounds quite interesting though.

My T400 CSL (about 500PP) runs about the same time, just a bit quicker though... Of course, with me behind the wheel. Someone else would do better.

Definitely with you on this. 👍

Can't wait to bring back my FD in this. I'd definitely give it a more aggressive look too... Probably a track-based look...

Something like this. :D http://ra64freddy.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/img_3256.jpg

Considering the STI was about 80 horses down on the CSL and 15PP away, it's not that much time.

I just now realized that I can't enter my NSX-R for T300 because it's got a 3.2l. I might go for an older NSX for the better powerband or just find a new car.

Even though Kaz said in the presentation that greater levels of "personalisation" will be offered in GT6, turning the FD into something that resembles the picture in the link is unlikely to happen. It will most likely be down to more rear wings, wheels and other aero upgrades such as front splitters, side skirts etc. I seriously doubt that full bodykit conversions from companies like GReddy and Rocketbunny will be offered in the next game.

True. One can dream, though. Still, it would be epic for conversion kits to make an appearance in GT6.

Closest I could get to that in GT5 is with the RE-Amemiya FD...

Which makes me wonder why the bodykit was never offered in GT5, even though the car with the bodykit was.
