Is it just me or does this car have horrible handling?! I've been playing the game with a E92 M3, Evo IX, and Tii and all 3 of those car handles like a dream but i tried using the GTR and this thing is all over the place. Understeers like crazy then oversteers like no other. I'm playing with everything turned off, standard realism setting on a G25 wheel.
Yeah I've noticed the GT-R handles horrible too. I've been playing with everything turned off, pro realism with a dual shock controller.

I've been practicing a lot on Suzuka at the moment though so I'm starting to get the hang of it. 👍

The Mine's GT-R is easier to control in all aspects...
The R35's tendency to snap oversteer, notably at Suzuka's first corner, is rather unrealistic. Braking in the R35 actually requires more delicate input than say in the Mine's GT-R, perhaps its weight has a lot to do with it.

Of course, to say that the R35's tendency to snap oversteer in to the first corner of Suzuka is unrealistic, you'll have to show proof that you've actually driven the GT-R R35 on Suzuka at full chat.

i think it has absolutely great handling... possibly the best in the game. the handling is loose for a reason, because its meant for it to be that way. you have to master the loose handling, or you will lose stability every time. i think the GT-R is the supercar that can take the turn at the super speedway the fastest if timed perfectly, the only one i think that may be able to do it faster is the Audi R8... but the car that has the best turning and control is my babe the Aston Martin DB9, it just isn't fast enough.

Most of the things mentioned here with the GTR can be toned down or tuned out with proper tuning... "hint" "hint" :D and if you keep it stock, like most cars, you will have to LEARN to drive it :) Theyre not all the same of course.....

Okay, bumping an older thread, but I just got Prologue and wanted to ask a question. The liftoff oversteer is a bitch, and more pronounced that I would have expected. Is there a reason that a MR car (any of them in the game) is easier to brake than an AWD, front engined car? I appreciate that some testers have show that you can get liftoff oversteer, and that some writers have commented on this, but for it to be the default handling characteristic seems a bit off. In almost every car I have driven you can get liftoff oversteer if you try. But for a car with a slightly front heavy weight distribution, it just seems odd for it to be the dominating characteristic of the car. I have not driven one of course, so maybe that is the way it handles. I have read comparisons between it and the Porsche GT2 though, and they described the car as easier to drive than the GT2 and beautifully balanced.

I guess I just don't see the likelyhood that a car as lauded as the GTR has snap oversteer that is as bad as some 70's 911's.

/rant :)

Tanner Foust test drove a GT-R on a small race track, he said it was really fast in straight lines, stopped as well as a race car, but... felt heavy in the turns. Thats how a race car driver describes it, and the non-racecar drivers would probably say its too loose under braking. It weighs as much as my old Lincoln Continental did, must handle with caution.

GTR seem ok in the game but R8 feels too understeery for me. I would be nice if you could adjust 4wd dynamics in the such as balance between F:R and differential settings.

I've seen some reviews that have described the GT-R as squirrely... see... the GT-R is quite willing to oversteer... and the easiest way to initiate oversteer on an AWD car is through lift-off.

Compared to some of the insanely snappy rear-drivers in the game, the GT-R is easy to drive...

Hmm... I've played around with it for a bit now, and tuned it to be an absolute weapon. I've tried all the MR cars in the game, and didn't find any of them to have liftoff oversteer as bad as the GTR. I have read reviews too, and some say it is heavy feeling, but I can't find one that says it is as snappy as it seems in the game. Not really a big deal, I have it tuned now anyway, but it just seems off to me. I'll never be able to afford one IRL, so I guess it doesn't really matter ;)

I think the car handles nicely, and it's not the best handling car in the world because its still heavy and very powerful for those over steers, especially when transmission is located at the back of the car, sure it's made to be for more handling, which it does, but if you push it too much, it will over spin the car because of that.

I guess everyone has their own opinions with cars! Thats why I love the amount of realism in this game. For me worst car to be fast in is the F40. I just cant drive it.. I am so slow on the Time Trail, I dont know how people manage to be so damn fast.

There are some cars I maybe be 5 seconds behind #1 spot, there are cars I can get as close as 3 seconds on the Suzuka. Heck some I get imberasing 7 seconds, but that is reason because I drive a car few times, I spin out too many times, and never practice with it and never get use to it.
It's like in real life racing and cars.

The best way to fix the car is to turn down the brake bias of the rear to about 3-4 and turn it up in the front to about 7-8. This totally eliminates the stupid twitchy braking.
