I think when the race starts no one should move but p1, almost turn 1, then p2 move into position, and so on. Then everyone won't be goin at the same time. Thoughts?

That is how it is explained in the rules. 👍

I just kinda got one complaint. GV27- was in our GT500 room to get everything set and ready and even told us our starting spots and pp checks. 👍 Good stuff. But when the formation lap started, like almost half the field had no idea where their starting spot was. Which I think lead to some of the carnage in the feature race formation lap.

And if you're wrecked, GET OUT OF THE WAY. Harrison, it wasn't very cool when you had your car weaving all slow on the front stretch, endangering other peoples races just because you crashed on the formation lap. I had to weave and squeeze me way between you and the grass then I look back and see you almost took out I think it was TeamRad.

When the race starts, chat should not be used AT ALL unless by a Steward or Admin. I don't like reading your rage comments and how you'll quit the series while I'm in the middle of a race.

I was noticing that too, Hamilton. People should be paying attention and counting the names until theirs comes up, that way they know which position they should be in.

Yeah, that was me behind you almost hitting Harrison.

I completely agree about the chat thing. I really don't like reading about how my partner is going to rage-quit the series. It really irks me.

You were chatting as well during the race. It is prohibited to chat during the race!

I was not "chatting", I informed the stewards in the room that I got a "Disconnected from lobby". If I am not allowed to inform them of that, then I shall not do it again.

That is about as good a reason as you can have, but it's true, there's no need so next time just please wait until after the race. 👍

Chatting during the races is prohibited, and if it becomes a regular thing, we'll do what we have to, but let's also not try to act like we've never had writing appear from a random entering a room when we're entering a sharp left-hand corner either guys. ;)

I was in a series where the formation lap was a challenge too, the solution there was pretty simple.
- Everyone in the Pits
- Steward calls out the grid
- As each position is called out, that driver enters track, does about a mile and stops (or drive one lap and take respective grid position.)
- When start race is pressed, everyone is in their proper positions.

Not sure how this will work right now, because the grid system doesn't always work properly right now, but when Polyphony fixes that issue, it should work.

For now, as advertised in the rules, everyone sits on their grid slot and each driver pulls up to or after turn 1 one at a time in order. (Which is why I sat still when the race started, but everybody started moving, so I slowly started moving in a straight line to avoid getting hit from behind. Little did I know I would get T-Boned, boggles my mind.)

Thanks for the help with the suggestion Tom. The series that you did this with was my old IS-F cup. We've still been using it regularly since then to set our standing start grids. But since this is a multi-make series we can't use standings starts.

We solve the issue with rolling starts by exercising self-discipline, patience, and understanding.

Eddie; it's true we're using rolling starts. But by doing what Tom says, everyone would be in position, right? Then when the "race" starts, all we have to do is maintain our positions since everyone is at their right spot already. We didn't have any problem at PAL GT300, but it can be a good idea especially with a group that's perhaps a bit more unexperienced.
