It's more important to drive clean on the race than to host well. ;) Besides, you had Litchi as a backup. I am also sitting next to my dad and watching him, so I can just help out on the hosting. 👍

Nice job guys.

Kinda sucks to go from 9 to only 6 at the end..
For anyone falling behind on the track, please stay as you are still a part of the race as a whole.
I hope Plc and Rad can get the connections smoothed out.

Majik and Sail for any tunes you find you may still have to adjust it for you. I would play with the LSD cause you can change the car almost completely with that. Best thing is to ask for help as well cause most everyone here is in competition with you but are always more than welcome to help.

It was a good race overall. I can not wait to get some pics from the replay.

nice TV ;)👍

@Stewards: thanks for all your job guys 👍

Thread for round 3 is already available here ;)

Well i thought I had something for the Lexus boys and was shadowing Dom in P3 until lap 8 when that evil turn 6 stuck me into the tire wall on the left.I tried to run another lap but my LF wheel was damaged and my 2 stop race turned into a 3 stopper on starting on lap 9.A crew chief would have come in handy since I spent the next stint trying to decide how best to get to lap 36 when I was planning to switch to the mediums. All was going to plan until lap 33 when I ended up racing a lapped car that what on fresh tires.I caught him into turn 6 when he went wide and I like an idiot followed him off and hit the other tire wall. This time it was the RR that was bent to hell and I had no choice but to stop 2 laps early and switch to the mediums.

I knew that 16 laps was the max for the mediums and I considered running easy to save the tires but I had a good gap to P5 so i pushed hard until lap 42 and then cruised to the finish.I was almost driving on the rims on the last lap and ended up letting Troy because I was in no position to battle.

Overall it was a good race, but I would have liked to have known if my original strategy would have worked or not.I doubt I had any chance win but it would have been nice to atleast see the leaders.

Honestly will,

I feel that car is not competive for the PP in this series that it's ranked at. It gets left behind like it's standing still. I've tried every LSD combo under the sun. I have tuned and ran most of the competitiors cars, and on Fuji I was 2-2.5 faster on lap times, and most of those cars held corners with relative ease. I think it struggles as its not a 50/50 split balanced car, so therfore it needs ballast to keep it from being tail happy :nervous:

I was warned that its not an easy car to drive without T/C or even using noob SRF. I worked on it last night for 2 hours trying it all, yet I pull out an NSX or Lexus, it was like night and day.

Big thanks to Litchi for helping set up the regs and staying for the whole race.

I accidentally started on the Meds. Bit of brain fade there as I checked before the start of the race. I wanted to use them last. Ham jumped bortech at the start and that may have helped me to open the gap. From then on it was pretty lonely out front. From what I gathered we have got our **** together finally lol as it looked liked a pretty clean race from all. Shame PLC and RAD couldn't join.

On a side note, MAXKING, you really need to read the rules and follow what's going on and make sure your car is set at the right weight and PP before the stewards start the reg checks ;) another big thanks to L Ham and Litchi for correcting the issues.

Anyone happen to save the replay of the GT500 race?

I've tried quite a few setups and played around with them for hours. The car just doesn't go! I tried with/without Stage3, with/without chassis reinforcement, seems the best was Stage3 with chassis reinforcement, but I didn't play with the Stage2 car as much. The only tune that felt good wasn't getting me good times. The latest one is a ballance between half decent times and 'not-as-unstable'. Honestly, it could be my driving, but I studied a few other replays and compared with my lines and average corner speed, there's not much I'm doing wrong. Just feels like a weird car...

Honestly will,

I feel that car (Toyota) is not competive for the PP in this series that it's ranked at ... I worked on it last night for 2 hours trying it all, yet I pull out an NSX or Lexus, it was like night and day.

Funny you should say that, I tried the Toyota and it gave me a teeny bit more joy (not much). The Zed on the other hand, well I was getting 1:22s with it... I only had 2 laps out of a couple hundred this week under 1:24.0 with the Brig.

Anyone happen to save the replay of the GT500 race?

Not only did I save it, I'm video editing right now. Figured you guys are looking for someone and my racing ain't cutting it, so may as well do something to contribute

I'm still not going to give up on this Honda just yet, however I may skip Spa and just concentrate on breaking this horse for R4... PLC, get us some points at Spa dude! Team Raybrig is looking pretty sad...

Hey Tom, share your settings on the YMS and I'll be the judge of that! LOL.

@ MAJIKTOM
Dont skip Spa as it will suit your NSX. Dont miss out on an opportunity for a good result.

The NSx is fast at spa. I won't be as fast. Last spa race nsx's were fast.

The yms supra ran a blistering 2:13 q there by tony in our prerace. Maybe not fair to say cause nobody was close, but the car can be run fast and under control.

The way these cars are set in their pp value, are good and certain cars are better at other tracks, laguna is not a track that is best for twitchy cars, but get on a track where fast corners need that extra turn in your golden. I hope you guys stick with it.

BTW, Monstar and max were looking kind of laggy to me, not much, but my video replay won't look very good with their cars bobbing around the track every now and then. Anyone else notice that? if not, can you send me your replay? I'll splice it in with all my other regions. Gonna take a few days to get all the regions mixed for Online editing. Enough for tonight. Time to take a night drive on the ring with my Leggera to unwind...

OK8
Based on Tony's performance in the PAL race I have to disagree.

Don't judge a car's PP's by how they drive it. Only if you drive it yourself you can make safe conclusions.

I'm sure the PP's are set pretty equally and if there's 1 PP here or there to be given/taken it won't make the difference.

Yes I have noticed he has the YMS dialed in. He does not accept PM's as I tried to contact him. At the very least guy's, if someone has a good LSD setting, that may help. I was never able to step on the gas through a turn until the car was straight coming out. I'll try again today. I normally don't have this much of problem with tuning.

Fastest laps for gt300
GTP_CSL 1:23.881
El_Aliens69 1:24.069
IforceV8 1:24.520

All drivers completed 90% of the race.

Awesome! Can't wait to watch it!

And come on man. like everyone else said, NSX's have their tracks that they are rocket ships on. Spa and Suzuka are some tracks that compliment the oversteery-ness of the NSX. Attack the curbs like a mad man while me in the Lexus SC will under steer into a tree. It's gonna be a fun round and there's a lot more runoff in spa than it was in Laguna.

I think I might not make this next race.

I go out after our races but I end up leaving at like 11 but as I have a special occasion thing this week I want to leave a bit earlier. Plus I don't have Spa

If you can't step on it, you have to loosen it more. For Laguna I went with the bare minimum of lock and it worked well.

were my LSD values. The only problem was when I accidentally dropped one rear wheel onto the sand I immediately lost almost all drive, but atleast I didn't spin.

Thanks OK8,

My numbers were a little higher than that. I'll try it.

I had a revelation, I put some ballast all the way forward, which has really simmered down the tail big time on Spa. The way the YMS was set up yesterday on Laguna, it really was not drivable at all. Way to rear end happy, and the rear tires were spinning even in straight lines out of the corners.

I will see how the testing phase goes at Spa.

Thanks!

I really think you should try to adjust the handling of the car without using ballast, there are much more effective ways of controlling oversteer and understeer. I would first go for adjusting the ride height if you have oversteer; make the rear much higher than the front. That should fix it, but you might then suffer from understeer depending on the car. If that's the case then it might be worth playing with Spring or Anti-Roll Bar settings instead.

If you also have rear tyres spinning up a lot, then you should change the LSD settings big time. What settings are you running for Initial Torque and Acceleration?

PM Tony too, I'm sure he won't mind sharing a setup with you.

To add to this, if you were going to put ballast on the YMS, the rear would be the best place to go.
The only form of over-steer the YMS naturally knows, is through spinning the tires, so I recommend more careful throttle application. You'd have to be running a pretty wild tune to have constant over-steer in it.

ok Monstar sent me his replay, but GT5 wont import it. I think it might be because it's a PAL replay and I'm in NTSC. Does anyone know if that makes a difference? Does anyone in NTSC have a reply to send me?

You think right.
I can't answer the second question, but if you're in a race room and want the save, I highly recommend saving it every week, even if you think you don't want anything from it.
Getting replays posted here is like pulling teeth. :banghead:

BTW - That link in my sig, that says "photo finish racing" is getting updated with an Eneos SC430, Castrol Supra, YMS Supra, and Bandai SC430 tune today.
They're not uber-tunes, or incredibly hard to drive, or track specific, but they work on probably any track and at least give those less knowing a good place to start fine tuning from. :)

I have a reply, but Monstar and max look laggy and it's not the best to use for video editing. But I suppose I'll have to live with it.
