my best lap was 1.50.840, that was only in 50s once. Mostly 1.51.0s-3s. I possibly will have a shot at pole if I don't screw up qualifying again which seems to be an occurring thing for me, but don't see myself having an easy time for a podium with the added 70kgs. Unless the guys that are all close all screw up pretty bad.

Well you can for sure count me out of podium places. Never really liked this track. This is gonna be my first competitive online race at the track.

Lol anyone here fancy mentoring me? I suck at this

Practice Practice Practice, if you catch up with us just let us know how the car is going and we may be able to help ya, or just watch some of us run laps and see what you could be missing.

Thought I'd mention that the 1.5 Hr Team Endurance Race at Daytona Road will be 50 Laps with team pts earned at the end of lap 25 and the end of the race.

Wait, so if your leading your class in lap 25 and 50 then you get first place points?

He is referring to team points. Here is a review on how the team championship works:

EDIT: On a not so happy note, Ron Meier has reviewed the race at Monza and has ruled on some incidents that occurred on the race track. The following incidents have been deemed 'avoidable' and have therefore drawn the following penalties.

Early in the race while racing side by side, drivers Mike Best and Pablo Czyrt made contact that resulted in Mike Best wrecking. After looking at his replay, Ron has determined that Pablo took the corner wide and resulted in pushing Best off course. By not waiting for him as the rules say, He will be docked 1 championship point. Both drivers are also on watch to be sure no paybacks occur.

On lap 8, Nadiur R bumped into Len Parker and resulted in Parker spinning. By not waiting for the spinning driver he also will receive 1 championship point deduction.

On lap 18, Phil N was attempting to lap the 300 driver of Parker and he knocked him off track. This also will result in a 1 championship point deduction. From this point forward though, contact between 500 and 300 class drivers will be scrutinized harsher and could result in harsher penalties. Please be careful guys

On lap 28, Jonathan Bolling got into Nadiur R resulting in Nadiur spinning. Failing to wait for him will result in a 1 point penalty.

It's early in the season so Ron was lenient on the penalties. Just try your hardest to be careful guys 👍 :)

Wow I didn't know SSR run a Garaiya till now.
What top speed are you 500 guys hitting around here? Im at 168mph.
As for lap times, 46 is difficult for me so Im not expecting a good result here.

Yup, I've admitted it's careless driving on my part and will try to avoid this stuff next time. Also sent Parker a PM to apologize on race day. 👍

What are the rules about breaking the slipstream? At Nurburgring there were cars weaving all over the road to try break it. At one point someone made 3 moves in the home straight. Daytona will be ridiculous if we don't limit the number of moves...

Truthfully i dont see a problem with it. If someone wants to do it let them, and doing that also slows you down so if someone wants to do it let them. I know personally i might do it some if i know i am faster than someone and the only way they keeping up with me is through draft i will do all i can to get them away from me so i can get away. Plus if i can get them out of my draft i dont have to worry about someone braking late and slamming me into a corner accidnetaly. So anytime i can get away from someone behind me i will try and break the draft myself.

Alrighty thanks for clearing it up

Not agree with the penalty, at that moment I thought he just lost it with the old tires. That what I seen on my screen, but it might have looked diffenent on theirs. Just a single point lost but in somewhat a grey area with the event.

That was my bad. We barely touched each other and in the replay no contact was made. I guess it was the same with my incident with panoz. I wasnt sure if i tapped him or if it was oversteer. My bad there and I accept the penalty.

On a lighter note currently practicing if anyone wants to join.

I personally disagree with what you've just said.
In the OP it states that we are racing under OLR rules. And im assuming that we are doing so? And in the OLR it states one change of direction. Weaving to break draft is cheating IMHO.

On my way

Well from personal experience we do it all the time. Its been done to me and ive done it to other people. I dont think that we should take away the weaving.

And also, the draft on the game is pretty strong even for it being on light so i think it makes it a little bit more fair

Thank u for pointing this out. I had a guy weaving in a race I was in lastnight. Left, right & left, right again just to keep me from drafting. It did slow him down doing it, because 2 laps later I passed him. Sinladar was behind me watching him do it for 2 laps. Moving once is isn't a problem, but when u do it 3 to 4 times down the straight, that is an issue. It's just cheap moves and hurts your time.

What are rules in place for if they aren't going to be followed. :)

Im happy just did my qualifying and ran my personal best finally broke into the 43's barely but was still a 43. :)

I don't think weaving to get rid of draft is covered in OLR.

I assume you guys are talking about this:

10: Defensive Driving:
A:
Leading cars have the right to choose their own line down a straight. They can change their racing line once while driving down a straight (Move from the outside line to the inside, or vice versa). As they approach the next corner, they can return to the racing line of their choice However, they're not allowed to change their line when the behind driver is directly behind and changes his line to try and make a pass. If your movement causes an accident, you're responsible.

From what I understand, this is related to blocking a car and not draft evasion. Although I can certainly see the argument that because it's strictly limiting the number of changes on a straightaway, it indirectly applies to draft evasion.

It's a fine line to navigate between blocking and draft evading :P

Personally I don't really have a preference either way, but GTRRL should probably make it explicit.

Ya I try to break the draft only once down a straightaway. Like Nurb you'll see me switching lanes once trying to break the draft of the guy behind me, once I moved down and went back up I usually stayed there or stayed near the bottom.

In my replay it shows you touching him pretty well and enough to make him spin. I know there has been times that I've noticed certain drivers moving weird when close to me. Like king I swear I never touched him and he would say I did and I could notice it but with a bubble between us. So idk maybe there is some kind of bubble issue in GT5? who knows.
