GTSport Lost All Cars

Hey GTFayMcAdemy, have you heard anything back yet?

@Gt_Sci apologies for the delay I've been chasing my tail trying to sort this.

If anyone experiences this problem, I'm afraid you're in for a long battle.

What I've been told by PlayStation Support via three emails is that my data file appears to be "corrupted" (hearing the C word is always a bad sign), and that as far as they're concerned there's nothing they can do, either to get my cars back or give me any form of compensation because they're just technical support.

I replied on the second email when no remorse or any form of apology was offered after they confirmed the issue, which enraged me. Basically I was screwed the moment I logged in and it automatically saved it. It's already been escalated up from PlayStation Support to the game publishers, and I've spoken to three separate people on phone calls, and three separate people via email. By Monday this will have dragged on for 2 weeks.

However, given the fact that it's a problem their end and there's nothing wrong with my PlayStation, plus there appears to be zero effort to put me in touch with someone who is prepared to offer me a compromise and is capable of doing so, there's no way they're getting away with this. I've already told them their response is unacceptable, and the person I've just spoken to has passed it back up the chain again, being well aware I won't go away until it's resolved. If they know my game is corrupted, they will know I earned my cars fair and square and I won't accept grinding it out to get them back. Whether they're being all apologetic about it now (where they weren't before) is a good omen, remains to be seen.

In addition to that, when I told Ask Playstation UK on twitter that their suggestion of restoring licences didn't work and asked for advice, I haven't had anything since then.

To be fair I got similar response when this happened in GT5, kept getting told it was getting escalated until I finally gave up after a few months and just started over from scratch. Had the same problem also when I started up the game automatically saved, so it basically saved my garage with no cars in it. It just sucks cuz you can't win back all the cars you won in driving school or misson challenges, that alone is roughly about 10 million credits and not to mention the mileage points used to buy cars as well

Sometimes it just happens to get a corrupt data, and there is nothing you can do to fix it. That is why you should back up your GTS save daily.

Yeah I know it just happens and there isn't really much you can do about it, or stop it from happening, still sucks for those of us it's happened too. Gonna have to do some serious grinding to get back to where i was before this happened, But I'm enjoying the game so it's not so bad. As for the backing up my data everyday, i never thought that i would either need or have to do this, i didnt even know this was a big until it happened to me and by then it was to late cuz it auto saved when i booted up. Anyway, you live and you learn, I'm now backing it up to the cloud and a pen drive before i switch off the ps4, just too be safe.

How do we manually backup the save data guys? I have checked in the settings menu and my account is set-up for the auto save thing I think. I would like to do it manually though for assurance in case my data corrupts.

For a console based game this game has more errors, crashes, different functions not working right just out of the blue than any console game I personally have ever owned.

I had 3 error blue screen crashes and then the replay function of the Sport races would not record and the races I had recorded before the crash was not of the complete race just this evening.

I do not have any of these problems with any other PS4 game I own other than GTS.

I quit computer gaming years ago as it seemed on some games I spent more time downloading drivers, installing patches and just some games did not play well with some hardware.

I wanted plug and play without the frustrations so I went back to console gaming but with GTS it is about as bad as some of the worst computer games I owned with all of the multiple problems that have randomly surfaced since launch.

A what is supposed to be a AAA game made for one console platform only by a company that shares its ownership with the console maker should not be experiencing the amount of problem that have been exhibited from this title.

Really pitiful performance for a main title for Sony!

I keep losing the thumbnail pics of my cars.
From the General Discussion thread.

I had exactly the same issue for a few days.

I'm not sure exactly how many cars I have, maybe 240ish.
But they simply weren't loading.

In the end I went to my Garage and then walked away for quite some time.
I took a peek after about 5 mins and it was still a mess.
But after a while all car thumbnails had loaded.
I deleted temp. data and manual saved (probably don't need to do that).
Checked Garage again and instant load of cars.
Closed game and restarted, instant load of cars.
No problems since.

So my advice is just be patient once, get them all loaded, and hopefully it will behave as it should from that point on.

Give that a try.
It seems to have solved it for me.

Deleting temp data / cache is the 1st step in fixing weirdness in most cases in anything computer related.

Go to PS4 main menu, select GT sport but don't start the game then press the Options button and the menu will pop up, then select Upload/Download Saved Data.

I've been doing this every day, but a question has come to my attention... How does this work? We cannot save the game when PD servers are offline because of online saving. Doesn't that imply that our GTS data is stored on their servers, and not our PS? I know it says game save data, but I just think that's weird that it works like that.

Maybe the save is just validated through the servers or something?

So I got this issue today as well. I'm in the process of testing all cars so already had nearly all of them so this annoys me at the highest point, especially for the Gr.3 and Gr.B road cars because that means I won't get all of them back before 2 months... (fortunately I had them tested yesterday but still, I liked them).

People, backup your saves, and exploit all the money glitches you can find to the bone.

The save is stored on the online server, but the online storage is in another small storage if you have PS plus, it is like you have a USB plug into your you PS4.

I understand that. But I'm curious how we can access a save not on their server?

There is no other way the at the moment, the only way is to backup your save to a online storage or to a USB, if you notice there is something wrong with the in game save, go to the online storage or to your USB to download and to overwrite the save that is bad and that is all you can do.

Reading about all these cases of losing garages full of cars has literally kept me up for hours. Without hesitatation I frantically ordered a USB stick just for the purpose of having a back up save for GT Sport. :scared:

A quick update for you,

I've been in touch with PS Network Support and I should have a resolution next week, although nothing else has changed yet from their position.

In the meantime, over the past 24 hours, given the 1.11 patch got me motivated to play again for the first time in nearly 3 weeks, I've discovered what a godsend the KTM X Bow is. You can win the Premium Sports Lounge Oval race easily in N400 spec with RSS tyres, and you'll therefore get back on your feet buying cars pretty quickly if it does happen to you. Even if you fancy a change of scenery, you can earn 225,000Cr in a custom race as it can beat all Gr.3 cars too! No glitches, no cheating! Therefore somewhat happier this week! Oh, and I'm backing up my data now...

I can also confirm all liveries are kept, even if you didn't share them!

@GTFayMcAdemy thanks for keeping us informed, be good to finally get an answer as to why this has happened. Was talking to a few other people that this has happened to and we all seem to have had the same problem. When booting up the game and coming to the main menu, the background picture would stay black but the menu bars at the top, bottom and side would load up ok, there is also a round spinning wheel settled over arcade mode at the top, you literally cant do anything apart from back out and quit the game and reload, I personally left it for nearly 25 minutes before I quit out. Sadly at this point all hope seems lost as the game saves as you load back in with an empty garage, I'm nearly positive if you get this black screen when you load up then thats what causing the empty garage bug. This is exactly what happened to me and there's another guy on here has described the exact same thing happened to him before all his cars disappeared too. So im assuming somehow our local saves have corrupted hence why we get the black screen. Out of curiosity, can you remember did this or something similar happen to you?

Ment to add to that, yes your liveries are still there even if you didnt share them, only downside is you are unable to edit them any further, tried to edit one of my porsche liveries last night and you are unable to select ones that you have previously started.

I had something weird happen to me like this also. So, now i save on MY backup HDD. usb 1tb that I use for music mainly, but now plugged into my ps4 I got lucky though as the livery I saw someone created was pretty cool. I applied it to my vw bus. I liked it, used it, and then found a different one I liked more. So, I grabbed that one and went and deleted the other one. Well, it deleted the bus entirely. Glad it was just a bus so I just bought another one, but if I lost all my cars I would be super pissed. Hopefully you get them back or some type of consilation from PD. Good luck!

I'm bit confused. Sorry.
The game saves automatically.
So from now on every day when I close the game I should do that and manually upload my progress?
Just to be sure?
And if I do, then when I want to play again do I have to download again or just start the game?

All he is suggesting to do is to copy your console save file to the PSN Cloud as a backup.
You can do it every day, every 3rd day, or whenever you feel you have progressed enough that you would be disappointed to go back to your last backup save should something go wrong with your console save.

Yea got it but I just asked if you need to download it whwh you want to play again.

Nope.
Your console save and PD's servers continue to do as they always have automatically, so no need for you to do anything in that respect.

All you're doing is sending a copy of your console save file somewhere else safe, just in case.

Cool. Thanks

An update for you all.

After much arm twisting this issue has been resolved. They agreed to give me 2.5million credits in compensation, which were added instantly to my profile. As you all know, you can't buy tonnes of cars with that, but it all helps, and I'm buying a couple of cars a day now. I'm therefore satisfied the issue has now been dealt with.

@Gt_Sci now you mention it, I believe this may have happened to me - the black screen you mention with no loading progress may have caused this, but as you say, what else do you do in this scenario other than quit the game? Never mind...
