I hope Poly gives us some info soon on GT6 now that ps4 will be out Holiday 2013. What's y'all's thoughts?
The absence of evidence is not the evident of absence. Just because GT6 wasn't shown now, doesn't mean it's not a launch title.
I disagree...for now. If they don't showcase GT6 at E3, then there's no way it will be a launch title. Why keep the greatest series on the PS4 out in the dark, unless they've finally learned that PD takes their sweet time.

GTP FamousGuess GT6 will not be a PS4 release day game.
Well, just keep playing GT5 until. Now for the next news, will we see heavy DLC before GT5 bows out?
ehem, GT3?I never expected that it would be. It isn't as though PD have the ability to get the game here so soon (by their standards) and GT games are never launch titles.
There will not be anymore Dlc for Gt5.

You are going to be very wrong so honestly, I wouldnt say it anymore.I keep saying it, within one year of PS4 release.
I dunno... I think, the way Im understanding it, is that the PS4 system is easier to work on. We know that PD have been in the works for GT6 for a while, if the PS4 is easier to work on, the work will be done quicker which means I cant honestly see why GT6 couldnt be revealed at E3 and go on to be a release title... Would only make sense if its easier to work on.

Sorry, but anyone who was expecting it to be a PlayStation 4 release title, was being extremely unrealistic. If PD couldn't develop Gran Turismo 5 in three years, what on earth made people think they could do it with GT6?

Except for the simple fact that the game has to be developed first?Because it's not GT5. There is no reason to think it can't be a launch title.
ehem, GT3?
So what? Things change with time. Polyphony thought they could do exactly this with Gran Turismo 3, but instead they ended up having start from scratch with many aspects.Because of this:
"From our perspective, it doesn't seem like that long a time," he [Kaz] said. "To make Gran Turismo 5, we threw away the legacy code from GT4 and started from scratch. It's been five years from [the release of] GT4, and that's the same amount of time it took to develop the first GT4. To create a game from scratch, that's the amount of time it takes to get it right."
(Purely in terms of initial retail release dates in Japan, there was slightly less than four years between the release of Gran Turismo 3 and Gran Turismo 4.)
But the next game won't take as long, Kazunori acknowledged, as it can largely build on the team's existing work. "GT5 represents a whole new operating system," he noted, while "GT6 is just new apps that run on the GT5 system."

And getting around that could be as simple as outsourcing and having the modeling done or partially done before hand (indicated by Kaz's desire to use premiums in future GT games).Due to the fact these modern consoles are more powerful than their predecessors, they are capable of rendering graphics that are much more detailed. And more time is needed to create these graphics, than was needed for the previous generation. It was the same with the PS3 and Gran Turismo 5; due to the fact the system is more powerful than the PlayStation 2, they could create graphics that were much higher in detail. Of course the downside to this was that they needed more time to produce these graphics. This doesn't just go for the graphics, but for the sound engine, the physics engine; a lot of things if I'm honest.
Now of course they could just carry all these things across from the previous generation, but then game reviewers and anyone who isn't a die hard fan will most likely be slagging the game off for being low in quality. And PD (understandably) don't want that.
Gran Turismo 3 wasn't really an upgraded version of GT2. That's what PD wanted to do at first, and indeed they got as far as an early demo of such a game...And getting around that could be as simple as outsourcing and having the modeling done or partially done before hand (indicated by Kaz's desire to use premiums in future GT games).
And it will only go for things like sound/physics if they change those things significantly, which is anyone's guess.
Of course they don't want that, but it doesn't mean they will avoid issues, see GT5. Also GT3 did pretty well for being GT2 with less cars and more graphics.
We cant seriously be having this discussion again after everything that happened with GT5. People truly dont remember PDs track record after 5 games? Especially after what happened with GT4 and GT5?Yeah but the main bulk of dev time for PD is modelling cars and that has absolutely nothing to do with the system, cars are modelled in generic PC programs, the system they're being used in isn't really relevent to how fast they're done.
Is he? He says within a year of the console, that means by Holiday 2014. That's four years after GT5, plenty of time to have made the game. GT5 was an exception for how long it took. Four years is even pretty long but should be enough for PD.
Oh wait, it's Gran Turismo 4 that they completely changed the driving physics engine for! My bad. Haven't played it in a while, so I forgot. However having to remodel everything to PS2 standards definitely took them quite a bit of time. I know for a fact they didn't meet the release date they originally planned. Kaz wanted to release the game in 2000 and the name GT2000 was going to be used for the final game also, but they couldn't get it ready in time.Even the final version of GT3 was still very much based on GT2. They just did much more to it content wise than they originally planned, since GT2000 was originally supposed to be just a tech demo.
