Guess GT6 will not be a PS4 release day game.

My two cents...:sly:

On one side I think they could definitely have GT6 as a PS4 launch title. Just take GT5 and using the additional power of the PS4, up the number of cars on track, increase the track side details, fix the smoke/rain/tire/etc details and add some social networking features the PS4 is advertising. They could then release additional features, such as new tracks, premium cars and social networking updates via patches or DLC (like they did for GT5).

I'm not sure what would make good business sense though. They could develop new tracks and DLC for both GT5 and GT6, then use the sales of the GT5 DLC to fund the development of GT6. They could also make a GT6 Prologue a launch title to fund the development of GT6.

Either way, not sure it would actually be profitable for them to release GT6 as a launch title as they already know they'll be competing with DriveClub at launch. Might make more sense to learn from DriveClub's mistakes, take more time to perfect GT6 and release in 2014.

Any thoughts?

Theres actually reason to rejoice that it wasnt a launch title

All launch title games were developed with the early, 4GBs of GDDR5 memory spec. Since then, Sony has upgrade PS4 hardware to 8GBs of GDDR5. If Gran Turismo 6 was a launch title PD would have little to no time to take full advantage of the extra power now available.

I'm thinking GT6 may get to be a launch a title for all we know, especially since its being build on GT5's engine, why wouldn't it guys? There are some games that even use the same game engine, and some of those games came out fast too, so I'm not sure why PD wouldn't do the same.

Because GT3, which was originally supposed to be a launch title and was built directly off of GT2 for hardware that was much closer to the PSX than the PS4 will be for the PS3, ended up missing the PS2 launch by over a year.

*Sigh* :indiff: I'm hoping PD doesn't attempt that again though, I mean, they haven't shown anything yet now have they?

We don't even know for 100% certain that GT6 is being built off GT5. It most likely is but the quote from Kaz that people keep bringing up was from a long time ago and could easily have been when GT6 was considered for a PS3 title. Now it's obviously not and things may have changed.

Simple fact of the matter is until Kaz breaks his silence we don't know, we can only guess.

GT wasn't a launch title for the PSX, GT3 wasn't a launch title for the PS2, and GT5 wasn't a launch title for the PS3. Never mind the span between GT3-GT4 was 3.5 years and GT5 was over five years away from GT4.

I'm not sure why this surprises anyone.

I have to agree on that one. PD works slow. I expect GT6 to make a late 2014 arrival... just my 2 cents on it...

Well my opinion is that GT6 will appear sometime next year theres so much content they need to put in so it will take time but I am hoping for GT6 prologue/demo that's online that will come with the PS4 like 1 or 2 cars and 3 or 4 tracks would be nice though. But who knows we got till December and information from PD about GT6 will surface later on.
Actually I am hoping for a 2014 mid year release so they can perfect the game and iron out bugs and what not and not rush the game for this year.

True. I'm guessing PD are going to keep the premium cars but will make a new engine? Since DriveClub may take over this year, guess GT6 will come out next year.

It sucks yes, but reasonable for Evolution Studios to sell their game.
