He did, the answer was the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo 2 Seater '89. Richard Hammond drove a 300ZX in the 2nd hand RWD challenge during season 13 of Top Gear and the 300ZX Twin Turbo was pinned against the 350Z in another episode of Top Gear where they did 1/5th mile drag races to see if the older or newer cars would be faster.

I guess noone here is as big of a Top Gear fan as me.

Well, I had to look that up, but as I saw that

1) Hammond used it in a challenge, as you hinted at
2) They did an old vs. new with it

It was an obvious guess to make. Plus, nobody said Nissan yet

- Bugatti Veyron 16.4 '13? (there was no 16.4 Veyron in 2013)
- Dodge Challenger Touring Car '10?
