It could've been the Avantime, but there's more links to the car to be revealed in future hints.

Incorrect :)

Nopey :dopey:

An unofficial hint: We're not looking for a "this car on steroids" version. You might want to take a look back at my previous riddles to find the lines you'll need to think along :)

Nope. Giving the hint now:

"James, this isn't my car!"
"In theory, it might as well be, James"

You're all more or less on the right track. But there's a little more to it than that:

"Alright James, explain to me how that is"
"Well sir, it appears that this car is related to your favorite car from Gran Turismo 2 through said favorite's descendants"

Slightly closer, but not there yet. As we're this close anyway, I'll give a potential giveaway:

"But I don't seem to understand. How are they related?"
"In the same way a man's child would be related to another, even if they come from two different relationships"

Aston Martin Vanquish?

Unless it isn't an aston and I'm wandering down the wrong path well and truly :S

Then let me help you: It's not an Aston I'm looking for.

Not like it was gonna be long before you ran out of Astons anyway

Nope. Allow me to shade some light on the subject:

We have James' favorite car from GT2.

This car has at least one descendant.

One of said descendants are related to the car in question. A bit in the same way as a child would be related to the child the father had in a previous relationship.

The Opel is German, alongside with the Vauxhall, which is british :grumpy:
