It comes from a long line started by the Toyota 2000GT (The Granddaddy car). The 2000GT was mostly done in collaboration with Yamaha (Music and Bikes ), the LFA had it's engine and beautiful exhaust note tuned by Yamaha as well. The Supra that came before the LFA was also a Flagship sportscar like the 2000GT was and sorta like a successor to the 2000GT.
The Supra had a V6 engine while the LFA has a V10 which was similar in size to a V6 engine. The LFA is offbrand because it's a Lexus, not a Toyota but still technically made by Toyota.
Plus they're all GT sportscars. The LFA is basically a Mk V Supra with a V10, Carbon Fiber and a much bigger price tag. It's also my favorite Sportscar in all time forever
