There's a reason for that. It's a mainstream brand that has always been a bit obscure - even in Japan. They've all but disapperead from the passenger car market since the 1990s.

I didn't manipulate the picture, but half the badge seems to be missing or the lighting is obscruing it enough that I didn't need to blur it. It's not a Toyota, though.

Yeah, it's the Gemini Coupé (or Isuzu Impulse, or Geo Storm, or PA Nero for the U.S. models that famous import dealer Yanase Co. sold in Japan).

Since I can't find the original picture in the myriad of Japanese microblogging sites, here's a green Gemini that is much happier than the one I posted.

You aren't half wrong; most 3rd gen Geminis use the classic Isuzu badge, as you said. But I think I found a reason as to why the car you posted has the "i" badge:
