1- 1994 BMW 850CSi (M5POWER)
2-
3- 1987 Porsche 944 S (M5POWER w/ Clue)
4- 1997 Lotus Esprit V8 SE (Punkrock w/Clue)
5- 1987 Buick GN(Grand National) (Punkrock w/Clue)
6- 1993 Ferrari 512TR (PunkRock)
7- 1970's Bricklin SV1 (PunkRock)
8- 1993 Mazda RX-7 TT (Punkrock)
9- 1985 Maserati Biturbo (Pupik)
10- 1992 Toyota MR2 Turbo (PunkRock)

Punkrock is hereby the all knowing Car enthusiast here at GTPlanet. Second only to the omniscient 12sec. Civic!

Punkrock, even though I gave some pretty dead give away clues (The 4.7 second GNX is a one of a kind American car) you deserve respect as a TRUE car enthusiast that truly knows what they are talking about, as opposed to the hordes of wannabes here at GTPlanet.

The GNX is an amazing car. Tuned by ASC Mclaren, it is one of the fastest cars to come out of the USA and was undisputedly the fastest car in the USA during its production. GM quickly ended its production due to their rock solid policy of having the Corvette as the fastest GM product. The GNX beat the Corvette at the drag strip by a full second in the 0-60 but the GNX's handling left something to be desired, although it was like a Porsche compared to the base Buick Regal.

I personally hope that people dont forget about the GNX because it deserves all the respect it receives. So this is my tribute to the GNX and Grand National, and all of the people responsible for its conception and inception.

BTW, for those of you who haven't heard of the Grand National or GNX (80% of the population). Here is what it was all about. 3.8L OHV Turbocharged V6. RWD w/ 4 spd Auto only. 0-60 4.7 1/4 mile 13.1 Top Speed: 161mph

The horsepower is officially unknown. Buick stated it at 245hp because they didnt want to draw any attention from the Corvette guys at GM. However, Car and Driver estimated 355hp; and Road and Track estimated 320hp with 390 ft-lbs of torque!!!

I miss the GN/GNX. The last sporting Buick (that sounds so wierd to say)! You can bet the execs at Chevy hated that car with a passion; it kicked the C4's homely ass into the weeds!

Mind you, I'm just going by 0-60 times...of course the Vette was quicker in top speed, I think C&D stated "if it didn't have a governor, the Regal chassis would have taken flight like a Frisbee."

I'm still of the opinion #2 is an aerodynamic Mack Truck.

Wait a minute, the 928 had square fog lamps?

#2 = Porsche 928 GTS (don't know year, '87-'95?)

there is one of them for sale around here. I thought it was pretty cheap, until i asked the owner, and found out the turbo's blown. It's probably the last musclecar worthy of this name.

is still can't figure out what #2 is, though...

Bull**** I got it with a clue! Check the time on our two posts and then decide if I could've gone back a page, gotten the picture's URL, posted it, and made a guess, within that minute (or less) with my 56K.

With a clue.

Right on! Pupik pulls thru with the second hardest one. So although Pupik doesnt have the most correct guesses, he still got the 2 hardest IMO the 1985 Maserati Biturbo, and the 1993 Porsche 928 GTS.

Ok, since Punkrock guessed the most right, he is obliged to make another one. I want to see how well I do on this one. So make it exceptionally hard.

ok, i'll make one... i will go for a really hard one, since we're all pretty good! :)

OK I didnt notice that. You guessed it outright.

sorry for the downtime, i'm still working on it... it'll be up in less than an hour for sure.

well here it is. some are easy, some are hard.

1- Datsun 510 (Kurtis)
2- Lotus Europa (Kurtis)
3- Suzuki Aerio (M5Power)
4- BMW 2002 tii (M5Power)
5- Mazda RX3 (Kurtis)
6- Pontiac GTO Judge (Kurtis)
7- Honda Beat (Kurtis)
8- Lamborghini Countach (M5Power)
9- Peugeot 406 Coupe (M5Power)
10- Alfa Romeo 156 GTA (M5Power)

I shouted when I saw the Aerio. It's the best Japanese car in ten years. What a leap forward for Suzuki. Standard 141 horsepower (more than the last generation Camry, Accord, and Saturn L-Series, and they were 'family sedans'), standard A/C, standard CD player... and an electronic speedo! How cool (if slightly outdated). Oh, and all-wheel drive. Coolness.

Oh, and #10 - Seat Ibiza.

shame it looks like a shoebox. and that the 141 hp aren't all there.

Ibiza it isn't, unfortunately.

Maybe it looks slightly shoeboxish, its tyres are absolutely puny, and it's slightly underpowered, but come on - it's a Suzuki. I thought they didn't know how to make cars, then they come along with this.

7 - Porsche 959
10 - Alfa 146?

well it's good for what it is, that's for sure. but, because it's a Suzuki, and because most car buyers are anal retentive, buying only what they know, or think is good, you'll still see a lot more Civics and Corollas then Aerios.

#7 is far from a 959, you've got the right make for #10, but not the right model... :P

# 5, 6 and 7 might be pretty hard to figure out, especially 7.

And with good reason - I heard Suzuki's North American operations chief actually say that the company's goal was to get one percent market share in the US. One percent! It was that moment I felt sorry for the man and realise the long road ahead.

It's far from a 959 and a Cayenne!? The two couldn't get much further from each other! Of course, Porsche would have you believe they're the same car from their ads...

it's far from a Porsche, actually... now that i think of it, it's far from a car sold in North America. but it was in GT2... :P

1's an Alfa, most likely, 2's a Porsche, most likely, 5's a Chevy or so, and it looks like 6 is just about, too. Seven is the hardest one.

Hmmm... seems like it means it's Japanese. I just can't think of it (after seeing Silvia, Integra, MR-S, and TommyKaira ZZ-S pics).
