I Think the Italy Police should, drive TVR`s Ferraris and the 1000BHP Bughatti. Also i bet soon the UK Police will drive Lotus Jagaurs TVR`S and Aston Matin`s also, a Ford Costworth or Focus RS would be great for them.
Bughatti was French.(Now VW owns them) Why would they use them in Italy?

As for non-American cop cars in the USA, I've seen a Jetta cop car. But it wasthe only one I've seen to this day.

"Ettore Bugatti was Italian (born in Brescia), but opened his factory in Alsace, France. The company was always considered French."

bugatti himself wasn't french. how could he with a name like that?

i would have thought that the italians thought of bugatti as their own. thats why they would use them in italy i guess

ive seen a jimny cop car in aus n a mini, and now they have normal vans and my mate raced a under cover commo! but wasnt fined cuz it was entrapment!.. N jus later the other nite there was a copper in a skyline revving the **** out of the turbo n looking at us to g us up to race.

Cops in Aus don't use skylines. There is no skyline currently sold new in OZ. The police only buy cars that are sold new in Oz.
I seriously doubt that the cop didn't fine you due to entrapment - I've never heard of it happening, usually if it goes to court the cop tells the court he was just accelerating to the legal speed limit in character for the undercover vehicle and was then overtaken by the defendant, etc. etc.

i was in the car when the copper was G'ing him up and then, we took off in his Type R 2003, and he pulled us over explaining it. They do it same with the skyline it wasnt new it was fully modded possibly a confiscated car, and this was near the city on the way to the rocks and I dont pull **** when I say this cause it did happen but it was very odd why and officer was doing so... Apparently in the US coppers fake that there fixing power lines, or having a undercover MPV parked with its hood up n gunning for cars.. (laser) Is this true? Never thought they would go to such extent.

in britain i've seen police use:-
Smart cars, Ford galaxies, peugot 307, 106, volvo estates, Ford Focus', Vauxhall Astra's, Ford Mondeo's. Thats all i can think of. Now in the UK there are big fights over how many cops are on foot patrols and how little work they do. So all their extra funding goes towards gettin more cops in. I think it would be just a tad diffucult for them to get Lotus'(which are a bit too light i would have thought), jaguars, TVR's and the expensive aston martins. I know some countries with their big cities and great funding might afford them, but britain aint like that, and if they did it in London i think they would have the tyres slashed on every jag they got.
Also britain has some of the worst goverment services around, for example, the NHS (N ear Hell So what, the striking fire fighters, the never there wen u need them police, and the wheres the tracks gone rail system

i see them use e39 5 series bmw's all the time. and on occasion i've seen jaguar xj6's and a lotus esprit (though that could have been a magazine i can't remember)

oh yeah and dont forget range rovers!

It still boggles my mind as to why the American police limit themselves so greatly on the cars they choose to use.

isn't it largely up to the taxpayer limiting them? if u saw the police cruising in an F50, wouldn't u rather see that money better spent on something worthwhile? The amount of damage that police cars have to take i think they have the best vehicles at the moment. If someone is able to control a truly fast car and outrun the cops, chances are high that he wont be an insane criminal. i dunno why but u rarely see world rally champions or F1 drivers massacaring people... :odd:

i dont believe that... i live in london and go to school in a part where i see modenas almost every day. ive never seen a police car thats better than a 5 series...

show me a picture and i will be convinced ;)

EDIT: the uk press would instantly clamp down on police spending like that and vaporize the government. they wouldn't be allowed to get away with something like that i dont think :S. and i hope so too :S
