Well, staying with water, but my right now my CPU under a few hours of gaming will hit max at 62-65C, while my GPU's all hit about 50-55C. I want to improve these numbers while upgrading my Mobo and Processor to go with it.

Looks like you mean business Pako.

Dry Ice in the tank :dopey:.

Looking froward to seeing the build progress.

Cheers Shaun.

Are you going to upgrade your graphics cards while you're at it?

Nope, just CPU, Ram, and Motherboard. I'm hoping I can get a few more years out of my graphic cards.

Isn't that aquarium a little big as expansion tank ?? ;)
Looking forward to the build.
For my part, I'm happy that I'm finished for now, so I can concentrate on my gaming rig again.

Why not sell the two GTX 590s while they have got decent resale value and get one GTX 690 for a little bit extra which should perform better but also take less power than one 590 which should result in lower temperature and a huge reduction of total system power consumption. Might reduce by like 400 Watts or something ;). Will also make things neater having only one graphics card and gives you an option of adding another in future if you want that extra performance.

Well, to be honest, I was looking for a new reservoir anyways. They are all in the $40+ dollar range. I came across this tank on sale for $10. Add the submersible pump to it, you have got one extreme tank/pump combo. The whole thing might be a bust, but time will tell.

That is an idea. Honestly, if I could get enough out of these two cards to get a couple 680 Hydro's I would do it. I normally don't resale electronics since resale is so bad. I guess it wouldn't hurt to put them out and see if I have any bites. Do you need a couple 590's? :D

[Edit] Upon further investigation, I think I will hold onto the 590's. These two cards together make for some pretty extreme gaming performance (given Quad-SLI support). The only advantage I see would be to go 3-way SLI 680's for comparable performance but with better game support as SLI and 3-way SLI seem more compatible more consistently than quad-SLI in my experience.

I have ~$1,800 into those two cards. I am really hoping to ride out the depreciation curve. If I pay $1 per day, I feel pretty good about it. That means 5 years for these two cards for being on the bleeding edge for roughly 6 months.

Maybe when the 700 or 800 series cards come out, I will be ready to jump ship as I doubt I will find a trade for these two 590's for three 680's. For what it's worth, my 3 GTX280's lasted until I upgraded to the 570's. I was able to skip two full generations of cards. I would like to do the same here.

New build log will resume here.
