đź‘Ť Too true, many people seem to buy them simply to pose in :irked:

Still I love lambos, not as classy as Ferrari or Porsche but nice and raw :D & of course Lotus,TVR etc... (But atleast they should be in GT4 :))

The mods are a seperate car model, the paint job is the texture, when you put a race mod on a car in GT1 and 2 the caras bodywork was ltered as well to look more like a proper race car, to create that different body means creating a seperate model for the car and twice the work and time.

to be honest i couldnt really care less if ferrari & porsche were in GT4, theyd be a great edition but id still prefer to go buy an NSX strip it down and get me some on the track. Plus the Zonda is a much better replacement as is Ruf. Id love to see venturi back also, that 600lm in GT2 was so quick it was scary and that CTR2 sport, i dont think youd be able to fit that on citti di aria, its soo bloody wide.

did some one say zonda?

*starts to to drool uncontrollably*

would have been nice to have some classic ferraris in, they were fun on pgr2, like the 250 gto, what a car!

There may be no ferrari and porsche, but there are other cars to make up for this, like the SEXY GODLY AMAZING *drool* zonda

http://www.autoweek.com/specials/2002_geneva/wall/pagani_1024.jpg

cars like the zonda make me wish GT4 has exhaust pops :(
I pray PD have a change of heart and find some way to stick reverse lights and pops in

Just to make a "just for fun" comment, why not have some of the cars featured and driven by the crazy daredevil we know and love, Alain de Cadenet? I mean, de Cadenet drove that 250GT, the 575 Maranello, and the car that made me say "oh hell yeah..." the 333SP (on the Ferrari side). Alain de Cadenet also drove the 962 road car (it's pretty awesome. You seen it on "Victory by Design?"), the 911, the 917... I mean, the only one I don't think I've seen him in was the 911 GT1. And of course, I forgot to mention the 956.

I want to thank Alain de Cadenet and Speed Channel (the road racing side of it) for further educating us about the cars of our past and present. I didn't get to see all of Alfa Romeo, but I'm sure Alfa Romeo would be a nice GT4 addition.

Anyhow, back to Ferrari and Porsche. And to get the blood of GT fans pumping, think about these cars and championship race ideas:

Ferrari Challenge: limited to 355 (don't really like those) and the 360 (now you're talking!)

Porsche Cup: Limited to 911s and 996s.

Or for an on-the-side deal, try:

Porsche vs. Ferrari. Potency versus exclusivity.

Well, maybe we're getting Ferrari and Porsche after all with this thread! Hahaha... (coughs) uh... (clears throat) next reply/replies, please...

If PD could get the Ferrari license, then would that mean they would also be able to use Maseratis? There is a fair amount of motoring history in that marque!

Hehe, as I type a bright yellow Lamborghini Diablo SV drives past my balcony! An omen by any chance?

IMO If these maques were included it would be a new dawn for Granturismo. An immensley welsome one that i'm sure would bring tears of joy to my eyes.

There is a hell of alot of histry in Maserati, but Maserati and Ferrari are two seperate marques and require two seperate licences, if you aquire the Ferrari licence your only aquiering the Ferrari shapes, emblems, names and images, not Ferrari AND Maserati's. Ferrari may own them but they are still two seperate marques and there are loads of simialer examples all over the place, GT2 and 3 has Audi AND VW but couldn't get Lamborghini ect.

Have you see This? (requires DivX)

I would love to see Ferrari and Porsche in GT4, and I don't care who knows it. They made some of the greatest racing cars the world has ever seen.

Why can't PD make a racing car version of a Ruf? I have never seen a racing car version, but why not create one for gaming purposes. I understand the whole "Real" thing PD is trying to do with the game series, but why not make just one. Like nobody out there can't make one in real life? So, what do you think?

(CONGRATULATIONS JOHNBM01 FOR 100 POSTS!!!)

Thank you.

Glad you mentioned the racing Rufs. As a project in Gran Turismo 2, I bought every Ruf car they offered in their lineup. If I didn't have the money to purchase one, I'd re-load the game and then purchase that car. Now, I didn't do it because I wanted my own yard sale. I did it to see if I could modify the car to be a racer. As my experiment turned out, I could not make out a race car of any of the Rufs I had. The cars didn't even have names for their colors. Like... no "Alfa Red," "Technoblau," "Milan Red," "Indy Yellow Pearl," "Sebring Silver Metallic," Sonic Orange," or anything like that (By the way, my favorite name for a car color: "Plum Crazy" (GT2)).

Now as I said earlier, I thought France's Venturri and Germany's Ruf were "substitutes" for Ferrari and Porsche. In GT3, Ferrar...Venturri was not there. And Ruf had cars more similar to some of the Porsches in our modern time. Just imagine if Ruf had their own 917... But for the most part, Ruf is like Tommy kaira. Only thing is that Ruf makes their own cars and have their own licensing for their cars. T.K. (Tommy Kaira) made their ZZs.

So, the chances of a racing model of either make are pretty low. But if they bring Porsche, I wouldn't mind being in Sascha Maasen's Porsche, for Kevin Buckner's Daytona24-winning Racer's Group Porsche (even though Daytona kind of serves as a "the Daytona 500 is coming" feeder race IMHO). If Ferrari comes in, I will pay to race the Momo Ferrari 333SP with its sweet sound and elegant body design. Even though Ferrari is committed to F1, I think they'd still be kicking ass if they went factory against Audi's R8.

There are racing Ruf's irl, all Ruf's are made by Ruf. Also Venturi is in no way whatsoever a substitute for Ferrari, making a racing Ruf wouldn't create any licence problems but if anything PD could just make an LM version like they did with some cars in GT3. Tommy Kaira makes the ZZ-S, ZZ-II and ZZ-III, now the ZZ-S is built in the UK by a company called Leading Edge and is called the RT, and the Gariya is built by a company called ASL which is a joint effort between TK and Autobacs. TK still operates as a tuner for Japanese sports cars though.

My suggestions for Ruf, I'd like to see that supercar that was in a certain post I made. There was some Ruf with 500+ hp. Now let's make this a mini wish list for Porsche and Ferrari.

PORSCHE...
911 GT1
917 Race Car
996
Carrera GT
Coca-Cola 962 Race Car
...just to name a few.

FERRARI...
550 Maranello
Prodrive Ferrari
333SP LM Race Car
250GT
360 Modena
F50
Enzo
F40 LM Race Car
...again, to name a few.

Come on guys! I know I'm analysing the issue, but it would be interesting to have you guys in GT4 (Porsche and Ferrari)! Come on, folks!
JMB Giesse 360 Modena

Heres my long list ;)

Porsche :

Mid 70's to late 80's 911's
959
911 Flat nose.

Ferrari :
F40
Maybe that 1960's race car, 250 GTO?
Ferrari that Magnum PI drove

This one? it has over 600Bhp.

Good job fetching that picture, Live4Speed. Thanks.

I would like to see that "super Ruf" take on the Carrera GT, much less in GT.

I think the significance of Porsche and Ferrari are that they have served as some of the dream cars since we were younger. Of course, when you were 8, you wouldn't want to ride in a Testarossa or whatever. I think in a VERY old PC game called "Stunts," there was a such car called the Porsche March Indy. To have this open-wheel Porsche in GT would be a good consideration as is the Scuderia Ferrari that wins race after race. I would like to see Porsches and Ferraris challenge Suzuka. I mean, Suzuka has been considered a track that has a little of everything. My favorite part of the track was the long straight before heading into 130R, I think it's called. Porsche and Ferrari. A challenging Japanese track. Millions watching...

Long ago, I created this topic based on if Ferrari and Porsche made it into GT4. As an update to this topic Kazunori Yamauchi said at E3 this year that (interpreted) "...Ferrari and Porsche are not impossible for GT4..." If anything, we can probably expect to see more of the same from Ruf and maybe the return of Venturri (not to say they were an impressive car company in GT4, even though I think that was in GT2 to make up for not having Ferrari. Surprising, too in GT4, is that Ferrari is MENTIONED in the game, but not IN it. Anyhow, GT5 may include both car makes. But it is still nice to mention them in the light of a game that looks back into the history of the automobile, with machines dating way back to 1886! Can you imagine taking H.G. Wells' time machine and looking at when this car was new?

GT4 will miss Ferrari and Porsche, but I wouldn't be surprised if either or both companies are in GT4 as easter eggs.

GT4 is not missing Ferrai and Porshe. Ferrari and Porsche are missing GT4. To me it is no big deal because Ferrari is in so many race games. Buying a gamebecause Fearrari and Porsche are in, it is in my vision a not to bright one My all time favourite is Lamborghini especially the Countach. People should learn to look wat what they have instead of looking what they don't have.

But not every game can be compared to the GT series, by other games you must be refering to NFS or something which is Arcadisch and in GT it would be a lot better to drive.

And I agree with John that Ferrari and Porsche are dreams from when we were younger and everyone always wanted to know what a ferrari or porsche would drive like....

And since LMPs will debut (check out my "The Debut of LMP cars" thread for more on these types of race cars), one of the only Ferraris I care about is the 333SP and its lovely engine sound. If PD play their cards right, they can get the engine of the original car and not come up with a modifed generic. I heard the 333SP race around tracks on television, and my personal favorite is the Momo Ferrari 333SP. I like it for a few reasons.

First off, it's in one of my favorite car colors, red. Then it is an attention-grabber. I heard it had about 700 horsepower, and it looks good taking those horses out on the track. The thing about this car is that it wasn't a serious factory effort from the car company best known for Formula 1. No matter what, that's one hell of a privateer. It never won Le Mans, but it won the hearts of quite a few racing enthusiasts. Last race I can recall seeing them was maybe the 2002 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Now my favorite racing Ferrari is the less powerful 360 Modena GT.

Porsche, I just want to get into ANY of them. Either the 911, or the almighty 917 of the 1970s. Porsche is can't miss, folks.

I can't say I'm bothered by the lack of Porsche (although the GT would be nice to see in GT4) in the game..... whats wrong with RUF?..... they make the cars the way Porsche would make them if they didn't have to pander to fat business men who want crap like Sat Nav and airconn in their cars. As for Ferrari..... yes no question they need to be in GT but I suspect they won't make it into GT4. Even if PD get the license sorted they may just wait for GT5 on PS3 before playing the Ferrari trump card! PS3 and GT5 would sell huge numbers if Ferrari appeared at that time so commercial thinking may come into play more than KYs wish to include them in GT4.

Do not forget that it was "impossible" for the Ring to be in GT4...

We never know and I'm sure Porsche and Ferrari cars are already designed by PD ...

if not in GT4.. we'll wait for GT5 with better sounds, better handling and better design...

Powerfull cars where not so fun to drive in GT3... Maybe PD keeps them as some kind of final touch to GT... when it will be good enough to simulate 250 GTO driving experience...

Give me the ring in november with 500 cars and GT improved gameplay, and I'll leave PD work over GT5 !!!!

Hi!

I don´t believe 100%, that Ferrari is not in GT4!

You are right, when you said, that KY said for a few months that the "Nordschleife" is IMPOSSIBLE for GT4!

Why were the Ferrari F355 seen by the other "Testing-cars"?
I don´t think, that they already sampled the data for GT5!
i mean that

Nordschleife was the 1. surprise and

Ferrari is the 2. surprise!

Hopefully

Ciao Joe

:)

They may have tested them waiting for the Ferrari license, but it didnt work out. I hope your right.

PD has already said they are using data taken from testing for cars in GT5 if they don't make it into GT4, that still doesn't mean every car seen tested that isn't in GT4 will be in GT5 just that the data was taken for the possibility of them being in future GT's. You keep Ferrari as number 2 suprise and you'll be waiting till 2007.

No good publicity for PD, when they shows photos with GT4-test- cars with a Ferrari on it and then they bring it 3 years later in a game!

They should better look out, that there is no Ferrari on a photo, when they can bring a Ferrari in a game!

In my personal opinion, I'd rather see Lamborghini or Porsche first in GT4, then deal with Ferrari on GT5.
