Aren't hair transplants the way to go these days if you're concerned about hair loss? They pretty much copy+paste hair follicles from the back of your head to the bald areas, and the hair grows back.

I've recently seen a few people with 'donor' scars on the back of their heads.

36 I think most have seen my pics by now. I have a receding hairline but if its anything like my dad, it wont go back much further than it already is. I started shaving my head a few years ago.

I would not do that. It would just feel "fake" and at that point I'd shave my head and wear a nice hat

Going bald is a pretty hairy thought, and must make some of us bristle with fear. The idea that a full head of hair is more positive than a bald pate probably stems from the fact that 'younger' (i.e. taking 'bald' as old) is a more attractive state in attracting a mate for reproduction/survival/tribal status, etc, etc.. . .

But metaphors change . . . who cannot respect Picard for his baldness? Or Telly Savalas, or Yul Brynner - the latter who actually gave his name to the look.

Bald can be beautiful . . . and I've found that it is usually the hottest women that are attracted to the look. They must know something. ;)

In my own case . . . and in my fifties now . . . I have runaway hair. Thick, luxurious, completely out of control and needing to be cut every month or else it turns from Einstein, into Doc Brown and finally into Jim Kelly having a really, really bad hair day.

Ah! Well . . . hair today, gone tomorrow. I'm going to enjoy having my hair tugged while I'm still ahead.

Do it.. shave it off...

I never forget the weekend (it was Croft BTCC weekend 2011) I first cut my hair too short to get away hiding baldness just by keeping it messy, I was sick to my stomach, and didn't take my cap off for a week.. I kind of put up with it thinning on top and receeding at the front for a couple of years, until about 6 weeks ago I just shaved it off... 3mm on top, and I keep my beard at 1.5mm to balance it out,... my mum says I look like a criminal, everyone else says it looks a lot better than the mess it was.

Having badly thinning hair made me WAY more self conscious and embarrased than it did when I shaved it off.

I'm 34, and I wish I'd done it when I was 30... just remember to take a hat with you if it's a sunny day.

I've been receding since I was 18, it's also gradually thinning aswell. My brother had the same thing when he was approaching 30, he is now bald so I expect mine to go the same way.

I don't think I would ever consider implants or anything similar. I'm going to just keep it short (1.5 - 2) until it gets to the point where it's a 0.5 all over. I'll let nature take it's course.

It's funny, when you see a bald guy you don't ever think it looks weird, but to him, at some point, it was probably really weird.

I have rather thick hair so I'm probably good for awhile. I can't remember the last time I got a hair cut and the person didn't mention it.

My cousin on the other hand started loosing his when he was 17, he's 20 now and along with his facial hair can easily pass for late-20's(I'm sure he can(and probably does) go to a liquor store and not get carded). I also have a co-worker who is 26 and has a complete chrome-dome.

My hair is thick and lustrous. But I deserve to be balding, it's had year and years of abuse.

My family's a mix on this; my dad has a full head of hair, while three of my uncles are bald, one shaves his head even though his hair is full, and one who is balding.

My grandpa still has a full head of hair (in his 70s!)

I've got a mop of hair.

Mine has thinned really bad at the front,i even have white in my facial hair lol.I am 30 years old,i just shave it off now, totally bald.
