Well I never knew about this little rivalry kicking off again.. :rscared:

I think you get petty little fights in all sports?

But in F1 well I reckon it's serious to say the least, mouthing :argue: or fighting oke: in the Pits isn't much more than a show for fans and media, but if their rivalry carries on side by side at 200mph on the track :curvyrd:... It's all that more hairaising

Though I think we'd all admit it's 🤬 Fantastic to watch, as long as nobody get injured?

So now we see that :mclaren:'s DC and :jaguar:'s Irvine aren't exactly best mates? Check out this report.....:fire:

David Coulthard's slanging match with Eddie Irvine has continued in Monza.

Coulthard has gone on the attack after Irvine blasted claims by McLaren MD Martin Whitmarsh that the Scot was getting better by the year.

Irvine said: " I don't want to have a go at DC, but how bad does that make him in 1996, when McLaren hired him, if he's been - as Whitmarsh says - 'one of those rare drivers who year-on-year becomes a better driver than the year before'?"

Coulthard says when Irvine was confronted in Spa he denied making the comments. Coulthard reckons Irvine says one thing to his face and another to the press.

Speaking to the Sun newspaper, Coulthard said: "I want to know which is the real Eddie Irvine. "Is it the one we see or the one we read about?

"I tackled him in the paddock over his outburst but he denied saying anything. He made out he hadn't a clue what I was on about. It's nice to see that he is unique to Formula 1 because it is difficult to understand someone who has got two faces."

Coulthard is regarded as a cool customer in the paddock and rarely rises to the bait in public arguments. But Irvine's latest tirade has got him fuming.

Coulthard added: "At the last race in Spa, I praised Eddie for his qualifying performance and he accepted it gladly.

"But he appears reluctant to acknowledge what he has said about me or what I have achieved. The fact is that Eddie is doing nothing on the track with Jaguar and he is running out of time on the public stage. Maybe his future is night-club hopping with his hangers-on who tell him how wonderful he is."

Irvine has never missed an opportunity to have a pop at Coulthard ever since he was turned down by McLaren three years ago after Ron Dennis said he was no better than DC.

One 'has-been' and one 'about-to-be-has-been'. You should have been watching in the days of Piquet, Mansell and Senna.

In one rather infamous interview, Piquet called Mansell a 'blockhead', described Mansell's wife as 'ugly', and suggested Senna 'didn't like girls'.

Oh yea and to add to this further did you see DC and Eddie fighting with Grid Positions today? :clock: Never thought I'd see the day when :jaguar: would be battling it out with arguably the third best team in F1 :mclaren:?

I think it's to funny that after all of the **** talking Irvine qualifed 5th and David 7th. I couldn't belive reading that a Jag was 2 tenths faster than a Mercedes.

The Jag is a much improved car now, with the aerodynamics and front suspension revisions. I hope Webber's there next year.

Yea who would have thought :jaguar: could step up the game this much? As long as they continue to progress in this way they could be looking at top 3 positions...

Mind all other manufacturers will be working for next season too..

How funny would it have been to see DC face when he saw Irvine ahead of him on the Time Sheets? :clock:

Eddy did a great job to bring the Jag home in third. David also did a great job of rear ending his teamate in the first turn of the race to put himself at the end of the field.
