Hi Harbinja, welcome to the forums here.
Nice to see another budding d.i.y man on a mission.

Just wanted to say your list of "to do's" and work so far look to be excellent.
I like that silver gear knob as well. If you end up not using it keep me in mind, hehe.

Speaking of bits, wondering if your totally set on having only an RX7 dash. Ive got a Saxo one with full white dials that wont be used in my own build. Funny I also have an M3 handbrake which I might not use neither as I may just hold off to Fanatec get one done. If these parts appeal to you give me a PM.

Oh and Momo used to do black and yellow pedals, "NERO" that would compliment your wheel better, check them out.

Latte I am interested in that m3 handbrake. That is if you are not going to use it. Get at me!

Thanks for the replys guys!
May be interested in the dash Latte...
Are you in the UK? PM me how much you're looking at.
I may take a look at those pedals too.
Stega, I would imagine the buttons should be pretty much plug n play... Just two wires per button just the same as the original g25 items.

Thanks, Paul ;)

Mmmmmm those look yummy, have you tried licking them yet, lol.
Looks to be a very comfy wheel, even better than the GT3RS.

Do you know anyone that has ever tried those Momo (copied) wheels on ebay? They seem to look identical almost but are only about £40, jut that I had looked at those as a possibility for my G25

That wheel is extremely comfy!!! I'm just a tad worried about wearing down the suede?!

Anyways I haven't tried one myself but Ild have to have a look first i suppose.

The paddles are awesome and do make a difference.

OMP Gear knob arrived today...
Really like it at the moment, So it's staying on the G25, And the
Richbrook will be going on the h-shifter when I get it.
Not sure which one yet but I'm all ears for a half decent budget one!

Paul ;)

Handbrake has arrived...
Had to repair teh shroud but all is good, I'll get pics up of the new goodies when I get a chance ;)

None yet, But I'll see about getting some up tonight!
I'm definately interested in the dash! I'm just waiting
to get my finances sorted, I'll let you know as soon as it looks like I can get the go ahead!

Paul ;)

Latte, Sorry dude but Im going to have to pass up on the dash dude!
Not Wife or parent compatible :(

So pics...

Still looking for a seat and some other bits n bobs, May make a start on wiring the BMW handbreak over the weekend.

Paul ;)

I have one of those Rev-Burners and a GI-Max. Great stuff! You should have picked up a 10k to 11k rpm tach though. You never know when you'll need up to 11000 for a 4 cyl. race car.

I have to cycle through 4, 6 and 8 cyl motors often and having the 8k to 11k range is nice.

Well the problem it will pose is it will not be accurate compared to the tach on screen for some cars.

If you are driving a car with a 11k rpm range and it red lines at 9k then that 8k tach will red line 1000 rpm sooner.

I drive plenty of cars that redline above 9 grand.

Many cars don't though so maybe you can just turn a blind eye on some cars. Most v6 and v8 cars only use the 8k range as far as I have seen. I found mostly 4 bangers to creep up past 8k

I should add that I actually have a 10k tach and I have not found any cars that require more than that.

What size is that? 3 3/8"?

If you have not picked these up yet they are so worth it. use them to connect your tach to the rev-burner posts:

here is a small video of my tach when I was just testing it out. Keep in mind that I am holding a cam in one hand while driving the car (including shifting (h-shifter) I'm not even redlining and I'm hitting 8k or just over that.

you will need the program SIM-DASH as well. Instructions are on his site.

Did you think he would send the usb cable and power cord? Maybe thats what you meant. He sells them separately.

Thanks chaps ;)

Just ordered a Cooler Master V8 cpu cooler and 2gb's of OCZ Special Ops ddr2 ram.
Why?
I've been thinking it over and I'm going to build a new gaming rig.
Wether that one or my am2 setup will be used for the 'Sim Rig' I'm not sure yet,
But it's definately going ahead.
Pricing up an Asus P5Q delux and a few Crossfire cards. Along with a Q6600.
I'm guessing eventually this new rig will be my Sim Rig as it'll allow a three screen setup.
Then I'll use my Driving Force GT in a more discreet setup for GT5 etc on the ps3.
All my other ps3 based racing sims/games ie... Shift, Dirt, Ferrari Challenge. I'm going to re-purchase for the pc.
