Has “Real Car Paint” been removed from Mileage Exchange?

Pardon my ignorance, I’ve been away from GTS for a while.

I was a big fan of spending my mileage points on real colors. However, I’m not seeing any real colors for sale? IIRC, it used to be that the first 3 colors were real, now I’m seeing none.

Is this the new normal, or is it just random chance that the last two sets of offerings had no real colors?

For a few weeks/months now, they show groups of colours instead of the random and varied bunch there was at the beginning. It even happened that ALL the colours were real colours.

It is useful if you need to fill the blanks, but not if you want to create a various selection if you start the game now.

However, there are not many real colours, so you may already have most of them.

I know that @Famine and @LeGeNd-1 keep track of the colours, maybe they will be more helpful than me.

Yeah, it used to be the case that there were four colours at the start that were a mix of real, chrome and colorshift, with the rest made up of the ROYGBPK9 paints.

Since week 55 (week 54 was literally a repeat of week 53 - nothing changed), the colours have basically been themed selections - all ROYGBPK9, but all reds, or all Dark Candy Metallic, or suchlike. That's not to say it'll stay that way, but that's how it's been for about four months now.

There's 47 real paints, just for reference.

Man, I'm hanging here waiting on some decent colour choices. All these monster metal flakes just don't get me excited...
Though it is probably largely my fault in part, as I didn't start the game till late (Nov last year) so I can't expect to have the same selection as you all did from day 1. But even the driver stance, helmet and other decals have not changed much the last month....

Yep, as Famine has said, for the first year or so since the game's release the paints were mostly random. Post 1 year anniversary they started grouping paints by finishes. I did recall a time when all the paints available were manufacturers, so that probably means you'll have to wait until the 2nd anniversary (sometime October this year) until the cycle resets again.

47 unique paints, but 48 different chips if you count the duplicate Performance Blue we got a while back.

Thanks for this number. Only 7 to go. I was hoping there were more than 47 real colors in the world
