Has anyone mounted a shift plate to their office chair?

So I'm thinking of putting my good ol' office chair to use by modifying it in the same fashion as the playseat shift plate attachment. Has anyone tried using the shift plate modification in conjunction with their office seat or made their own?

Hmmm... I actually hadn't thought of this. Right now I'm trying to improve my cockpit, and one of the problems is that the right side of my car seat has collapsed. I was thinking I could use my office chair, but I couldn't really figure a good way to not have the arms obstruct the shifter. The arms are what holds the back and bottom of the chair together as well, so removing them isn't an option.

I'm gunna brainstorm a few ideas today, might make a thread for my build if I decide to do anything big.
