Has this happened to you?

YES it has happened to me, but not for awhile. It's a problem with the DS2 controller I believe, but I'm not 100% sure.

I've noticed in some cases when I first fire up my PS2 and get in a car, that it will pull in one direction or another. But as I drive it and start using my steering, this quickly goes away. I'm not sure why it happens in the first place.

Me too. Its one of those "it could be anything" moment, but mine was the controller too. All you have to do is if it happens pull out the controller and put it back in. It should work fine then.

Alternatively, you can make a full circle with the analogue sticks and it should recalibrate itself :)

It happens because one of your sticks (in this case the one that steers) wasn't quite in the centre when you turned on your PS2, so it was calibrated incorrectly... At least, that's what I once read in a magazine a long time ago :sly:

Could someone please tell me why some of my cars in gt4 pull to the right? I can't seem to fix it, and how does that happen in the first place?

As others have said, I think that's a controller issue. I remember when I was playing Black I would creep forward very slowly even when i wasn't touching the sticks.

I've had this problem too, but all I ever did to fix it was take the controller out blow it out and put it back in, crazy me and my primitive methods.

I never would have thought it was the controller since i got both my ps2 and gt4 about a week ago. I was a little freaked-out when my first formula car wouldn't go in a straight line. Can I just make fun of myself for a second?....I thought it was 'cause I smashed in the wall real hard. I was like," Oh no! You can wreck cars in gt4?" Thanks everyone for the obvious unplugging controller tip for the new guy.

Yeah, this is what happened to me. I remember thinking it almost seems as if my steering was out of center...but once I shook it around it felt okay. As I said, it hasn't happened to me in a long time, though. I forgot about it.

Still happens to me often. I just keep driving and hope it recalibrates more annoying is when the right stick moves forward just a bit and the braking goes all wrong 🤬🤬🤬 GAHHHH so frustating when you're trying to break the 1:40 barrier in a heavily modified road car at Capri Rally

You might need a new controller. What kind of controller do you have? How old is it?

Avoid allowing your analogs to be held in one spot (meaning putting it upside down and having the analog being held in one position. another is to avoid abusing the sticks themself (for those who can't keep their hands still).

My cousin has messed up his analogs so bad that it can lock to the left while the other one is mostly stuck in that stiff position if you pop the analog stick out from pulling on it.

Or, a small push will do, if you hold the controller to eye level and examine the sticks.

That happened to me all the time, and I pitted challenging my father's Xanavi Hiroto Skyline GT-R in a Chevrolet Chevelle SS454. I was so close, too... I thought it was a steering linkage, but the controller was messed up, after my aircraft in another game started pitching for the ground!

Both my controller and my PS2 are undamaged, despite both falling 10 feet to the ground. It might help noting that the ground they fell to was made of carpet. the only problem is that a piece of plastic came loose in the controller, and the piece often jams in the L2 button.

Umm, it only happens to me in Twin Ring Motégi Super Speedway, funny isn't it... Well does it happen to you in every race or is it the same has mine,ToddBlankinship?

Maybe it's just because of Super speedway, or because the creator of this game made a mistake or tried to make super speedway has real has possible. In GT3 the kinda glitch (if it's one) doesn't happen. (I tried it a while ago!)

Happens to me all the time, but only on certain games, GT4, black, MOH:vanguard to name a few. Its always at the start of a level/race and is fixed by wiggling the analog sticks in their full range of motion.

It happens with both of my controllers as well, maybe its a problem with the ps2 itself...?

Used to happen to me while using my N64, it's probably a callibration issue when the analogue stick is held in a certain place other than centre when the PS2 is first turned on.

it happend to me on Sarthe 24 hours race with BMW V12-LMR car. When I get 12 or 13 hours in the race; BMW LMR car pulled to the left. And I leaved the game :( . I started again.

burti35, when you'll start again, you'll encounter the same problem. It's not the bug in that case, the chassis is badly worn out and the car just won't go straight. Speaking from experience. I'm afraid you've just thrown 12 hours of racing out of the window.

you mean what can I do for not pulling car? sorry my English is not perfect.

Nothing. When the chassis gets worn out, there is nothing you can do to fix it mid race. You'll have to drive the warped car until the race is over.

ok I understand you. thanx. But it's too bad (driving as warped). :ouch::ill:

What you can do is make sure you hve a fitted rollcage, it might come with it automatically im not sure, but if im wrong, youll just have to put up with it, for the first 12 hours drive as fast as possible and then when the car starts to warp and steer to the left, ease it off a bit and drive casually.

you are exactly right ! first 10-12 hours I must go faster than others and last 12 hours I must drive sensitive and like medium speedy driving.

Yeah, failing that though, you could always put it on B-spec and stick it on medium pace, then just lie back and wait, though if you do keep an eye on your tyres becasue you will have to tell your guy to pit in.

The b-spec driver pits automatically, actually.
