After the last update I feel that the mitsubishi lancer evo gr4 has gotten a lot slower and worse for handling. I don't think it's to do with me.

I think Gr4 is almost perfectly balanced now . I haven't seen any car dominate the feild. People forget in the closed beta it was 90% GTRs . The recent hero cars have only been at most 50% of the grid . Gr3 is pretty close , the only cars I see dominating now are the GR 3 vette and the Porsche RSR . The lancer is a dream to drive but is kind of slow on the straights.

think all the 4wd Gr 4 need a slight power boost. The WRX and Evo specifically
No , the 4wd cars are impossible to spin out . All you have to do is pick a fast line , there's no such thing as throttle management in the 4wd cars . Once you get past the apex you can hammer the throttle without fear of spinning out .

The gr3 is fine. My fave car. It's just the gr4 has turned into an awful car to put up with and I have 1 more manufacturers race to do with it

Gr4 Lancer has never really been that good for me since release, it feels like it's the slowest AWD of the bunch. According to BoP notes, the Lancer hadn't been touched.

To be fair, even the RWD cars are so easy to manage.
I think the 4WD need something minor, as only the Atenza is competitive with the best GR.4 cars.

Thats definitely true, but lines arent everything. The WRX get destroyed on any track with a long straight. I was racing Bathurst the other day, and after coming out of the downhill technical section I had a great line and was able to pull up on the rear of a lone cayman to draft the straight. The Cayman then proceeds to just pull away from me disappearing into the distance. I wasnt expecting to overtake the Porsche but i was expecting to be able to keep up a little in the draft.

The Cayman is one of the worst GR.4 cars too, if that was a Vantage, Viper or Genesis it'd be laughable.
I'm not saying all cars should be the same on the straights/corners etc, but with how easy it is to drive the RWD cars without TCS, there is little reason to choose the Atenza (which is actually somewhat competitive) let alone the other 4WD's.

As @KingFrog said, GR4 is pretty balanced now, way better than it was before.

Yeah the cayman part was the kicker for me too  I would have expected it if it was another car with more straight line speed.

I chose the wrx because i like the feel of the car and the stability it brings in that technical section. I agree that not all cars should be equal in the straights, but in a BOP race my superior line/greater exit speed/ draft/ clean shifting should be enough to at least keep up on the straight IMO

I agree mostly. The updates have done wonders for the GR4 class, and i am very happy with the progress

Doesn't mean it can't be improved.
True. I don't drive GR3 any more since it's unbalance. if we want to see changes we should all use the underpowered cars so PD gets The metrics for them. If the sample size is too small they can't mess around with the numbers .

I've found the Cayman has crazy gearing for Bathurst and kills it down Conrod Straight. It's pretty woeful most of the time, long straights however it's got the gearing to haul fast speeds.

Vette???

I don't think I have seen a single one in 136 sport mode races (EU)

Its all RSR & M6 here

Believe it or not, the Gr4 Evo is currently the most competitive it's ever been. Since launch, it's had a few small buffs which have helped but the latest patch didn't touch it. It's pretty good in the corners now but you'll still loose out in straight line speed against most other Gr4's.

"Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.4 [Power Ratio : 98% > 99%] [Weight Reduction Ratio: 102% > 101%]"

^ that was the last BoP buff back in Dec,

Lancer Gr.4 is currently the best car on fuel with the Peugeot RCZ (which is the worst FWD car ever designed and BoP never came to help it become useful.)

Lancer Gr.4 is fine for me especially on track with lot sharp angle, Lancer is only lose in long straight. What I fear is if Lan Evo got buff is they get big difference character just like RCF GT3 (somewhat after get buffed I can't handle the car quite well)

Here's my video use Lan Evo on Interlagos last week to proof this can catch up Ferrari but only lose in early accel and main straight (sorry bout out of track I quite impatience)

Correct my friend. Gr4 Evo BoP history:

V1.05 (03/11/17) Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.4 [Power ratio: 97% > 98%]
V1.09 (22/12/17) Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.4 [Power Ratio : 98% > 99%] [Weight Reduction Ratio: 102% > 101%]

Since then PD have left the Gr4 Evo alone but have generally nerfed it's fellow Gr4 counterparts in subsequent patches/BoP updates. As such, currently it's at the most competitive it's ever been in GT Sport.

Yes it's not used much at all here (EU) but it's been on the leaderboards elsewhere so must be quick. Here we get those two you mentioned for most of the field, then me and a few others in the AMG, which is good too but underused.

I find different regions use different cars at times, it's all about who's using what on the top 10.
We have a very quick driver here in Americas who tends not to use the meta car - and sometimes he's a trend setter, other times nobody can drive the car but him, so nobody else drives it (he set some inhuman times on Bathurst with a Gr.3 Ferrari a month or so ago, yet nobody else drove the Ferrari...)

I see the Corvette pretty often here in Americas, the Gr3 and Gr4 C7 are my most driven car in GTS too. The first day Monza came up, the C7 was all over the leaderboards,

I like the changes on the RC F, I get rather good times with it, it handles better than the M4 and M6 for me though, I dislike the handling of the BMW's.

Yes, M6 is trully tail happy compare with all other car

can someone tell me where these leaderboards are? Been playing for over a month and not found any leaderboards yet lol.

I've been doing tests on the fastest cars at Interlagos. I've basically lapped until I do a lap with no major mistakes - so a good lap I can do without loads of practice. My findings are that gp3 is closer than gp4 (3 tenths vs 8 tenths between fastest and slowest). Porsche fastest gp3 and M4 fastest gp4. But I find the cayman slow and the M6 difficult and slow. AMG is only 0.04 slower than porsche and SLS gp4 middle of the road so I went with Mercedes. Not tested all cars though.

Interlagos is one of the circuits I've had moderate success with the Gr4 Evo in Sport Mode. Holding its own and being very competitive in the corner/hairpin sections but then losing out on the long home straight. This is when I generally wave to the M4, TT and Vantage as they fly by!
Out of interest, where did the Evo rank in your tests?
