Having seen the final F1 race, I can only pray Yas Marina will be in GT5...

That circuit looked absolutely unbelievable. With 21 corners in the entire track, and over 5 different potential layouts, it seems like a great way to squeeze more circuits into GT5.

The Yas Hotel which stretche out over the course lights up beautifully at night, and with the potential for day/night time racing... This just seems like a must-have, I can only hope that its completion wasn't just too late for the Gran Turismo boat.

Also, I desperately want the Aston Martin One-77 on there too :D I hope it makes it...

one of the worst f1 circuit. it's good looking but it sucks, the f1 race was one of the most boring i've ever seen.

Yep, where there are several people who like something, there is always one who has to state differently... Macho, no? I personally think most F1 races are boring, because with the odd bit of excitement, it's just a precession. Give me a bit of ToCA any day.

The track may not hit GT5 at launch, but could well be a potential piece of DLC.

It got boring after hamilton bowed out. Kobyashi was interesting to see though, and the final 10 laps watching button and webber was good stuff *tup*

I think this track won't make GT5, but they are making a new F1 game to be released next year (march i believe) made by codemasters (think grid, dirt2) that will have this track.

I must say that I thought the same. Especially the environent could be really brilliant. Also the day-night switch :)

Terrible track, looked pretty but that was it. We need flowing tracks not a series of 90 degree bends.

I would like to see this track to...of course!

@jamboGT: why do we (only) need flowing tracks? I guess escpecially hard-cutting-corners (ist this a valid and correct english expression?) are good for exciting races, overtaking action etc...

just remember "seattle"... lovely course...

You mean like New York? :P But New York has grown on me a lot. I quiet like it now. I also hope I can floor it in a nice super car at Yas Marina. But I don't think it will be in GT5 though.

I hope GT5 will include Yas Marina with those hotel's light effect! Looks amazing

Put Heathrow airport in instead and no one will know the difference.

There are about a billion other F1 tracks past and present needing to be added before this. Spa, Monza (all variations) and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve are top priority.

Rather them than a rich man's car park, cheers.

Since when do 90 degree bends not flow? The entire circuit can be driven from sart to finish without the car leaving the track, so by definition, it flows. Just because it doesn't allow for flat-out racing all of the time doesn't mean it's crap.

I agree with that one. But it sure would give PD the chance to show show pretty hot graphics.

100% agree. Tilke needs to be replaced as a track designer. Very little chance to overtake. Long straight with the Tilke trademark L-R-L hairpin followed my a lap of "follow the leader" corners. The only interesting track he has designed is the track in Hungary.

It sure looks beautiful at night, from that perspective with the proper GT graphics I think it could be a really cool graphical showcase then again for the track layout you love it or hate it's up to the players :)

But yeah, SPA FIRST!!11

Ok, it was a cool track, but there are better tracks. I think the locale was more impressive than the track itself, because the only interesting feature of the track are the off-camber turns. I'd prefer to get Spa, Monza, Silverstone, and Interlagos before, and then some of the 80's tracks like Brands Hatch, Olsteirrich (don't know the spelling), and even the old Hockeinheim.

You've got to be kidding. Hungary is, apart from Monaco, the track with the least overtaking possibilities. What you're saying about the Tilke circuits is simply not true. They are built especially to help overtaking. Also the Abu Dhabi track was designed to make this possible, using a layout with one long straight to catch up, followed by a tight corner and another long straight.

Actually, it was pretty easy to overtake, if there was some difference in car speeds. Kobayashi had no trouble overtaking Button aftet he got out from his pitstop with the heavy car, and also Button would have gotten the better of Webber eventually, if he could have tried one more lap to line up on the inside instead of the outside.

So, no, the track is actually very good, just the cars are very evenly matched and were lined up pretty much in their "natural" order of speed, so there was few overtaking to take place anyway.

Also other Tilke tracks have a lot more overtaking possibilities than most older tracks. E.g. Istanbul and Shanghai.

I'd rather much like to see the new Portimão track instead, with its elevation changes and blind uphill corners. But i'm suspect...

So true.

Turkey/Istanbul is an awesome drivertrack, also Sepang is very neat.
For the rest Tilke is just average.
Take Hugenholtz, the designer of Suzuka. He design the circuit with odd corners in a way that there is room for overtaking and other driving lines that is embedded in the area.

Besides, the desert tracks all lack atmosphere and are dull to look at.

You can download the Yas Marina track and play it in rFactor. Here's the link: http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Abu%20Dhabi%20F1GP09

It's a pretty nice version. Maybe that will tide you over, cause I doubt we'll see this track in GT5. Maybe as DLC a year or two after release, but I doubt it. Great track. Tilke tracks are awesome. Not a bad one in the bunch. Shanghai, Istanbul, Sepang, Yas Marina are all excellent.

+1. Amazing how blind and biased some people are  Then go around spreading their misinformation around like gospel
