Maybe you post the original photos, so we can compare...otherwise wait what the experts say :)

Need a little help, is it possible to create hdr in gimp2.0? I have only the free version of photomatix, which seems a little restricted (perhaps I'm not using it right?).

Cheers

Hi those images look really cool. What i'm wondering...do i HAVE TO make pics with different Exposure Values....or would it be the same if i take one pic and vary the brightness on the pc thus creating many different fotos of the same image this way?QUOTE]

@robzombie1230 uhh im not sure, i have never tried it that way, but i think if you were to do it that way the exposure and brightness would have to be set correctly. Because GT5's photomode mimics that of a real camera you would have to be so accurate with the settings to get a decent picture
I did that for this picture when I was first learning to use PSE8 photomerge exposure (w/ varying the brightness for this one only)

Also, where can you download photomatrix, is it free?

So these are my 1st attempts. I hope to get better with time so feedback is appreciated.

had you not said that those were your first pics, I wouldn't have guessed, my first is somewhere in this forum and looks nowhwere near as good, see if you can find the camaro rm at laguna seca, that's my first, I used too much saturation

thanks! I just went back and looked at your pic on page 39, it looks good. Saturation is easy to get carried away with when doing HDR. Some people prefer a artsy look and some prefer a realistic look. I like them both.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. This time I did my blue ZO6 by changing the exposer with the camera instead of Photoshop.

I did cropped it, added a border and some MINOR tweaking in PS.

I take that back. Maybe I'm not getting the hang of it, maybe I'm trying to over complicate things. The pic from my previous post was 7 pics total, the below pic was 5. With the below one I didn't do a thing, I put the 5 pics in Photomatix, pressed "tone mapping" and how it came up is how I saved it. I didn't choose OR adjust anything!

So it is possible, just time consuming? I always used 3 photos in total: EV at: 0, -3, 3
On the above pic I used -2,-1,0,+1,+2 and it took no time b/c I just loaded it into the program and saved. Literally less than a minute once I had them on my computer. It's probably not the "best" way but I'm happy for now.

ok i tryed to reinstall photomatrix but it didnt work so ill have to contact them... this is another HDR in CS5 ONLY...

shhiny, I love that pic. I can never seem to get directly over my car, how did you do it?

Thanks! I didn't really like it being really bright so I just let it be a little dark and made it look as best as I could.

To get above the car like that takes a lot of "trial and error." It also seems to only work well on the Mulsane at Le Sarthe. But you just move the free roam camera to around the center of the car. Then when you think you're near the center, move the camera as high up as it will possibly go. Then look down upon the car. Just takes a lot of time to get it pretty close to center like mine.

There's some nice pics in here lately...
90relax, Dorfmeister, eugene2023 all get 👍

Thought I'd share my latest one...
