He says he's a Republican but...

Based on the scant information available, I suspect Arnold Schwarzenegger to be a Libertarian. Of course he can't say this because it would guarantee his defeat, especially in a politically incestuous cess-pool like California. This is probably the reason for his tight-lippedness. I hope he is. And I hope he wins.

Arnold is a bit of a liberal Republican - he's a fiscally-conservative, pro-choice candidate who is against special interest groups... what more could I want?

It doesn't sound that funny.

 What's up with the disclaimer? I thinks it's funny! You should generalize it so it apply's to all of your posts and put it in your sig. Speaking of sigs, where did you find that? Kinda cool and disturbing all at once.

Do I need to draw it in crayon? Arnold has always played violent rolls in his movies.

And I dont think he's a Libertarian. With the way the Lib. movement has been going (on the up-and-up), anyone who had his kind of profile would be exploiting it for the benifit of the party. JMO.

Oh you mean Terminator and Conan and all that. I guess so. Everybody keeps referring to Arnold as "the Terminator". I never think of him in the context of this election as a character. Everybody knows the difference between movies and real life, and he's not a violent person. He's a self-made man, someone who knows the American Dream. But I see the irony now, even though I had to be reminded to blur the boundary between real life and science-fiction/action movies.

Don't forget Kindergarden Cop!

ARNOLD PLAYING A VIOLENT ROLL!

Sorry I couldn't resist! :embarrassed:

Everytime I have a different viewpoint on a topic Red Eye's responded to, he takes it personally, so I decided the disclaimer would be the best way to go.

I was considering signaturising it.

Actually the song (called "Every Bomb You Make") was written and recorded by Sting who wrote the original version, "Every Breath You Take." It keeps with my avatar theme for the moment.

He's just acting for a living - he has no violent record or anything. I understand it's ironic, but I don't find it funny. Arnold saying "I don't like violence" and a ten-year-old agreeing doesn't do much for me.

The best of all possible worlds. I'm still amazed at how many people think I'm a Democrat here.

I'm pretty sure he's a Libertarian in disguise too, and hell, you can bet he'd get my vote right away if I were old enough.

One thing that has been really pissing me off lately - All of the Latinos and what not are getting all tight-assed over Arnold's voting for Yes on Prop 187 in '94... the Proposition was to deny funding and education for illegal immigrants.

HELLLOOO?!?

This relates directly to the thread that Eric made some time ago, about how the U.S. is practically begging for illegal immigrants to come here. If someone breaks the law, why on earth are we expected to give handouts to them?!

This is ludicrous. (And some people seem to think now that Arnold is anti-immigrant, yet he's an immigrant himself!) Honestly, I find it difficult to believe how dull some people are.

Just to point out a bit of irony here, It has been requested of local stations to remove any and all Arnold movies from airing while he is running. It seems that someone is afraid a competitor would request equal air time.

I've heard he's for gun control, but I think there was an interview in a play boy where he was not so into restrictions, but that was years ago. I'm not going to be against his gun control stance until I know in what way he is for it. Does he just want to close up loop holes or is he draconian. Actually, that aside, i've decided that i'm going against him if he doesn't give his ideas by september 5th.

I think he's calling for a ban of all phased plasma rifles in the 40-megawatt range.
