Well the photographer finds the car more of a Beauty than it does as a "beast". Does the photographer's opinion not count now? I mean he/she WAS the one who taken the picture afterall... Or Did he/she?

of course his opinion counts. why the hell not? i just stated my opinion.i hope you're not flaming me for my post coz you're totally out of line if you were. i was just answering a simple question. the motorsport elise was derived from Lotus' racing effort, homologating the normal elise and turning it into a race car, and then taking the technology learned from that program and putting it into the road version, which basically makes it a 'tuned' model from the factory, sort of like toyota's TRD models and stuff like that. so where would you categorize that ? that was all i was trying to say. i didn't even say he CAN NOT enter whatever. if you read again, i dont remember saying his opinion did not count like u said. for me i think it's safe to say that it can be entered from both sides, but if you look at technicality and specs, i think it's still a tuner car because of the version of the car and the performance specs compared to the normal model, but then again it can also go on the beauty side because it is road legal in some countries, and came straight out of the factory. i actually have the same questions about the Prodrive Impreza and which category it would belong to, knowing that it is road legal, same with the amuse and the mugen s2000's and the TRD cars etc..., but is fitted with prodrive components. is it a beauty side car or a beast ?

Many shots can be in both sides, so the user is free to choose what theme fits best with his/her idea.
All depends what do you want to do with the car I guess.

jgda9rs - I'd like to think the Prodrive Rex can go under Beauty, as while it did have Prodrive pieces, it was so close to a normal production STi that I never considered it in the same league as TRD's, Mugen's, etc. Besides, as far as I can tell, the only thing unique about it is the wing ;). It was still branded as a Subaru first and foremost, while the others mentioned are always branded as their tuner's names first. I would definitely consider the MS Elise more of a track/tuner car than the Prodrive, for example, but the final decision lies with Alex...

thank you :)👍 i always wondered what was so special about that subie. and i agree with you on the elise...but like you said, it's all down to alex.

Hmmm, while it isn't in the rules, I remember mentioning it in the discussion about Top 10's a while back. As far as I am concerned, theme choosers may enter this or the 2.0 comp, but if there are over 10 entries, you're out. People can strategize as they see fit.

Short answer: Alex, it's all clear :)

FINAL ENTRY

I hope I'm in time for this. I had a Beauty shot I wanted to enter but since there are so few in the Brutal side I think I'll have better luck here.

diffuse glow has been in use for quite sometime ... i think weve been unoffically considering it a burn tool. like liquidify is a smudge tool ;) and etc.

Yeah, I always thought it was allowed, I haven't had any problems with it not being allowed before.

As per the 2.0 comp, this will be left open for a few days to bring some more entries into the mix. Get on it!

Awesome stuff LdS- the distorted view of the vehicle and the level of saturation works perfectly. If I had noticed this competiton earlier I would have entered, but, too late now.

GTP - you still have sometime left. slipz is going to leave the h2h and apmc70 open a bit longer for more entries.

About the diffuse glow, it can also be easily achieved using only basic 2.0 tools (as franz taught me - thanks, dude), so it doesn't really matter, imo.

Now THAT'S classy! Light is gorgeous.

Rims look awesome, looks like they got a clearcoat. 👍

well i can only think of diffuse glow it enhances the picture so much yet 2.0 doesn't allow Distort filters..

by the way, why's it called "2.0"?
