I guess I'll start off by answering the base questions..

How did you find GTPlanet?
I originally linked to it through a thread on the official Playstation forums. That was a while back, and I lurked as a non-member for a while before joining.

Where are you from?
New York... The Mid-Hudson Valley. Which is a short ride to the north of Manhattan.

When did you start playing the Gran Turismo games?
The original game on the original Playstation. My favorite at this point is GT4.

Do you play with a steering wheel?
No. I could never get comfortable playing any games with a wheel. It has always felt awkward to me.

What other games do you enjoy?
Genre-wise, I am really into RPGs. My all-time favorite game is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, but right now I also play a lot of Lost Odyssey, Dragon Age Origins and always seem to have a game of Final Fantasy VII going (my 2nd favorite game of all-time). As for racing games, I currently play Test Drive Unlimited, Forza Motorsport 4 and occasionally pull out Project Gotham 4. My all-time, my favorite racing series is Gran Turismo, but I have also really enjoyed the NFS series, though not so much since Carbon (my favorites are NFS Underground 2 & Most Wanted). Some others are/were Tokyo Extreme Racer (Dreamcast), Hard Drivin' (Genesis) and Jaguar XJ220 (Sega CD). There's a list of some of my favorite games in my signature, but here's my top-20 console titles (no real order)...

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Final Fantasy VII
Gran Turismo 4
S.N.A.T.C.H.E.R.
Flashback
Shenmue
Dragon Age Origins
Skies of Arcadia
Test Drive Unlimited
Heavy Rain
Resident Evil Director's Cut
Phantasy Star IV
The Sword of Vermillion
Lost Odyssey
NFS Underground 2
Motor Toon Grand Prix
Tecmo's Deception
The Sims 2 Castaway
Alice Madness Returns
Sonic Adventure

What are you most looking forward to doing in the community, now that you're a part of this site?
Tips/info sharing & good conversation (while my Wife's at work).

Other interests...
Outside of gaming, I'm really into home theater. Since we live in an apartment, our system is pretty modest, but well researched. I can (and often do) come off as snobby when it comes to A/V gear, but that is due to enthusiasm rather than actually being snobby. There was a point when I was constantly buying new gear whether we actually needed it or not. That phase has passed and the gear we have now, we've basically had for quite a while. I did just upgrade one of our Blu-ray players because the last one did not perform well.

I'm also into movies & have a modest collection of Blu-rays/DVDs (around 800). Back in the VHS days, I collected movies just to collect them and had thousands, but as I've gotten older, I am more picky about what I put into my collection. I also tend to prefer older films, as today's movies seem like a lot of been there, done that remakes, reboots, sequels & prequels. The vast majority of remakes/reboots pale in comparison to the originals. Hell, most of them are just plain embarrassing. It's as though there are no new ideas anymore. Most of it is superficial brain-dead eye-candy at this point, though some are creative & intelligent. Here's a link to my 30 favorite films at IMDB...

Music is another interest of mine. While I love most forms of music, there are a few that I simply cannot deal with... Country & Gangsta Rap are the two big ones, but I have a hard time with 50's rock/do-wop, death metal, 80's hair metal and probably a couple others that don't come to mind at the moment (there are exceptions to all of these of course). Some of my favorite artists are Kiss (see avatar), Blue Man Group, Garbage, Frank Sinatra, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, U2, White Stripes, Sonny Rollins, Guns-N-Roses, Brian Setzer, Arrested Development, Pearl Jam, Adele, Sarah Brightman, Kenny G, Sammy Davis Jr., Billy Joel, Venus Hum, Barry White, Johnny Cash, Chris Botti, The Police, Hugh Laurie, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Dave Matthews, Joe Jackson, Prince, Robert Cray and even Lady Gaga (I could go on & on & on). As someone who's into home theater and audio quality, I do not do downloads or use an (gulp) iPod to listen to music. I highly prefer vinyl records to anything, but SACD & DVD-Audio are very good digital formats. CD is adequate, I guess.

That's pretty much it for now.

...Oh, and I'm a coffee-holic. While I'll do something like Dunkin' Donuts on the road, I'm very picky at home. I grind my beans fresh and like using a French Press, but usually perk it. I'm a big fan of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, but it's usually hard to find and can be expensive ($40 a pound). Most of the time, I drink different varieties from Peet's or Starbucks's Gazebo Blend, which I have to stock up on as it's only available in the summer.

Okay, that's it.

Ah, Jersey I see.

I used to live in New Joysee... Kearny to be specific. Much of my family (Sisters) still live there.
NOBODY CALLS IT THAT.

I'm not too far from Kearny actually.

Maybe you're too young to remember that Saturday Night Live skit... You from Joysee? I'm from Joysee!

Anyway, my Wife, Stepson and I will be headed that way in March for St. Patrick's Day at my Sister's house.

They really don't either. My uncle lives there and every time I've been there I've never heard an accent any different from WNY.

NJ is very similar to NY. The only main differences are that we have beaches, it's slightly more ghetto here, and our cops have blue lights on their cars.
