Help Jeff Gordon Special Events Advanced

Can't seem to make much progress on the JEff Gordon Special Events Advanced where you have to draft from the back of the pack.

Any guidance.

Also the Jeff Gordon special event where you come out of the pit and try to get in the lead. Can't seem to catch the leader even drafting as much as possible.

Hints?
