Ok , I love gran turismo 4 , and i´m playing it for a long time.
After i got 100% two times ( my sister deleted my first file ) i´ve started to improve my garage.
But at this point , i don´t know what other cars i could add to it.
So here´s the question : what cars could i add ?

This is everything i have so far ( except for the silver formula gt , after 30 or 40 times , i still haven´t seen it ) :

I hope some of you can come up with great ideas ( money is not an issue ofcourse )
And i don´t think it makes a difference , but i have the pal version

You're looking to expand with that?! That's more cars than I could hope to have in my garage!

Well , i know it´s a good garage , but i´m still not satisfied

Ok. Here's something. Proto Motors Spirra. Insane fast, and with a little tweaking, insane drifter. If you wanna see what it looks like, click the gallery link in my signature.

Hmmm , i´ve had those , but sold them all
I guess i can add those again

They are just insanely amazing. With 494 horsepower, it will murder Ciens, NSX-R road cars, JGTC cars and even LM race cars. No group C cars though

trying adding some Kei-cars on your list, those lightweight Japanese cars are quite fun to drive.., OR here's a better tip: just buy any car that would fancy you.., you know something that will make you say "hmm, this car looks interesting," .., 👍

that is wehat i have done , and this was the result

you sure?? have you checked the Used Car Showrooms?? there are a lot of great and interesting cars their.., are you sure nothing from there got you even the least bit interested?? there are a huge amount & variety of road cars in GT4..,

also, don't try to buy cars in every color available.., you're making the cars "redundant" and that doesn't give a good feeling IMO.., i mean, what the heck are you gonna do with 13 Amuse S2000 R1's??

I prefer production cars rather than GT or race cars.

If I had that list I would probably pair it down to my favorite cars and sell the colours I don't want or are not so keen on, having every colour choice is sometimes like playing an arcade mode where you select the car an colour and loose the personality of the vehicle. Then get into some of the other, lesser marques.

I've got tons of cars (most are nothing fancy like yours) but I can remember the neck to neck races I've won, the flukes, the frustrations and I know all their little foibles. The car list in GT4 is so big so that you get the chance to do this, even with something daft like a 2cv.
I'm sorry to say but if GT4 only came with the cars that you have in your garage and non of the bog standard production cars I wouldn't have bothered buying the game.

=drifting24/7= :
I have checked the used car showromms , but nothing interesting over there , some special colors at best.

Soullessvessel :
To be honest , i don´t like drifting , i also don´t like it that they have put it into gt5.

superturbo :
I play racing games to drive cars that i only can dream off.
The speed , or the perfect handling that racing cars have are just amazing ,
and gives you alot of appreciation for the technology , and the effort that went into those cars.
In my opinion , that is what cars are al about.
Normal and slower cars can´t fulfill that for me

However , that doesn´t meen that i just take a random car , and try to wipe the competition.

About the colors :
If you get the last color of a car , it gives a realy good feeling , especialy with a car like the formula gt etcetera.
I´m also trying to make something like an arcade garage , see it like the arcade mode combined with career mode.

I´ve also added some other cars to my garage :
Jaguar xj220
Cadillac cien
Spyker c8
Lotus esprit sport
Lotus motor sport elise
Mg tf160
Chrysler prowler

I´ll update the list as soon as possible.

Truenos basicly created drifting what it is today I've heard from pro drifters that in Japan finding a Trueno is like finding gold, S13s are so played out (at least in the 240sx version, they are the civics of this generation) and its a very showy sport, lots of style lots of skill. (more then the average grip racer if you ask me)

Drifting is now what street racing was in the 90s.

Street racing was what Drag racing was in the 70s.

Drag racing was what hot rodding was in...I'm not sure when that was in its prime.

Basicly drifting is on the fringe of motorsports right now its the werid new guy nobody really understands. but it will eventually become played out, more accepted, more reconized, and more understood...and if you ask me better it'll get better then since all the people who are in it right now cause its the new "it" thing will move on.

Finding gold? I would hardly imagine they're rare at all, considering that Toyota made millions of E80-series Corollas, and the only difference between a Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno is the front fascia.

(also, hot rodding was big in the 1950s, if you're wondering)

As for 240SXs being the Civics of our generation, I've only seen a few this year, and none of them were riced out (besides, the 180SX bodyshell used on S13 240SXs isn't as nice looking as the notchback coupe).

Do Porsches compete in drifting much? Early 911s in particular are oversteer monsters.

Well when I say Truenos i mean the Levin too and I've accually been looking into getting a JDM Trueno or Levin and I haven't seen one the only one I did see was brought over to my city to be sold infact I've seen more Skylines from 1990-2004 being sold then the Tuenos and Levins.

Its not that they were rare it's that you get taxed on how old your car is in Japan so they usually get scraped & those who have them don't want to let them go and if you go to a drift event 90% of the cars are 240s are people don't rice them since when your a beginner drifter you will abuse you car and any bodykit you get will get very damaged, so why waste the money.

No europian cars don't usually get made into drift cars, Only ones I've seen are a few BMWS, as for the Porsche being an oversteering monster, starting a drift is the easy part maintaining the drift is a whole other matter and with so much little weight on the front tires it would be hard to get out of a drift or get a large angle drift.

By the way heres proof on my "gold" statement

^ We get a lot of import cars from japan here in the uk, some garages just specialize in them, the attraction being they are rhd and simple enough to get through an sva test.
Even though those old toyota's were made in large numbers they are like hens teeth these days.

The situation with is a bit like the Ford Cortina in the uk, (taunus in SA) one of the most popular and top selling cars on UK roads from the Mk1 in the 60's till the MK V in the 80's yet I cant remember the last time I saw one (of any mark) on the road. The Lotus Cortina Mk1's fetch over £20,000 now (they were £1300 back in the 60's)

One of my all time favorite Japanese cars is the gen 1 Celica RA28, unfortunately I was quite gutted that only the TA22 was available in the game.

hmm, that sounds just like me when i was still in my younger years in playing GT :D .., as i kept on driving only race cars, sooner or later, i began to get the feeling that each and every race car is just the same, "this car feels like it has the same performance as this car" same speed, same handling, same performance, that sort of feeling.., no plan on offending you, just thought i should share this with you.., just try to drive a normal sports car, it won't hurt, will it?? :) you'll understand what i'm trying to say..,

If you get the last color of a car , it gives a realy good feeling

whatever suits you mate.., :)

Ya the truenos are getting hard to track down, I'm trying to get one and I'm prob gonna have to go across country to get it and those Celicas are pretty cool I think around that time they shared a chassis with the Levin for me my fav early Japanese car has to be the Toyota 2000GT kinda showed the world hey the Japanese can make a quick lil car, that and it was basiced the base for whats now the Supra (infact I've seen leaked concept drawings of the ew Supra and it shares some design points the 2000gt had. But ya I have a soft spot for this car...

and you guys are lucky in the UK you get Skylines over there, we don't in North America, and I'm not sure if we in Canada are getting the GTRs

I know thats a skyline but all they are, are fairlady Zs in diffrent clothing, so I've heard when I say skyline I mean the skyline everybody knows, besides I don't want a Nissan I just want a Trueno.

Yhea we are lucky to get tons of skylines available for sale in the UK, a good r33 can be pretty much ordered from importers in Japan if you can't find what you want in the sales ads / ebay. But Nissan didn't build the skyline over here as far as I'm aware, I don't know about the new one, but have you seen the size of it! too big for driving down our little side streets and congested towns.

Just remember though you guys get the Mustang, Camaro, 'Cuda, Challenger, Charger....... pretty much most of my dream cars. The last time I was in Ontario I remember drooling over the cars in a used car lot... The one reason I like the RA28 so much is because it's known as the baby mustang over here because of it's fastback looks.

They sold the AE86 in the states (and therefore Canada) though.

Why go through the hassle and cost of getting a true JDM version, ESPECIALLY if you're going to modify it?

I know they they made them here, I just wanted a JDM one, and would still get it if insurance wasn't a hassle and you can have all the Mustangs and chargers ect ect ect, American cars over all are garbage.

And just because A car was sold in the US doesn't mean it's In Canada, all we have here are Evo Xs we didnt get any of the last generation.

Hmm...

2005-present Mustang GT:

300hp @ 5750rpm
320ft-lbs @ 4500rpm
3450lbs curb weight
MSRP: 26K.

2008 Evo X GSR:

291hp @ 6500rpm
300 ft-lbs @ 4400rpm
Curb Weight: 3517lbs

MSRP: 32,990.

People who say American cars are garbage haven't driven an American car made after 2001. GM especially has advanced so far that the press are more excited about the new Malibu than the new Accord, despite the fact that American cars have historically consistently lost family car comparisons.

I don't get the "JDM" either. A Corolla sold in the US in 1983 might have a little bit less power than a Corolla sold in Japan, but you could just mod the exhaust to get the horses back. Saves a large amount of money not only for the car (falling dollar), but also shipping, customs duties, etc, and it will be LHD. That Japanese Corolla will be a LOT more than the list price after all the effort you will have to make to get it over here.

As for the quality of Japanese cars built in America, USDM Japanese cars are of equal quality to JDM ones, because the factories aren't unionized. And a Corolla that old was probably built in Japan anyway.

LOL Woolie, I'm still to come across a decently built US car and having been a professional automotive detailer for the last ten years, I've come across a really 'OMG' car that knocked me flat. The 300C was abhorrent on the interior, the fittings and finishes were half an inch out in some places and it felt very... yesterday in terms of quality. The Z06 was a lot better, the '05 Mustangs I've come across are clearly very Ford-ish and everything else seemed to have 'little finger' gaps all over the place.

Don't get me wrong, though, I'm a Holden nutcase (GMH) and I'd defend a Corvette or a Mustang to death, chop my legs off for a Hemi and commit murder for a Cadillac, hehe. But I've seen quality first-hand on a daily basis and worked for some of the largest, most respected detailing businesses in Australia (including factory jobs at Lambo dealerships and Chrysler and Toyota). I've been a detailer for International Motor Shows on stands and very little impresses me when it comes to claimed 'quality'. Style maybe, but quality... hmmmm.

BTW, I prefer only factory, stock standard production cars in my garage. Don't like racing models, don't like concepts and I dislike rally-weapons. And you can give me a nice muscle car anyday of the week over a 900bhp LM car.

;)

I have driven US cars newer the 2001 and getting a JDM car is more about the Image then anything else, and as for the Evo mustang things, id LOVE to see that mustang corner like that evo.

So you're going to pay customs duties and shipping amounting to hundreds if not thousands of dollars and sit on the wrong side of the car for your own vanity rather than buying an AE86 in this country and regaining the lost power through some extremely basic exhaust and maybe engine mods? That's a terrible idea.

As for cornering, a Solstice GXP could probably keep up except for the lack of AWD. There are many people who consider RWD to be more entertaining than AWD anyway, and Lancer Evos are known for having interiors that are worse than those of equivalently priced American cars, and for being uncomfortable cars in general.

I'm not getting JDM i was simply entertaing the idea of it, but the only car I'll ever import now is a 97 Toyota Chaser, and its not fair to compaire a Solstice and an Evo they are 2 very diff cars, and its not very fair compairing a Mustang and an Evo either I'm not talking enterainment or comfort I'm talking performace, the Solstice or Mustang on track wouldnt hold with the Evo.
