Help please

I haven't heard of anyone beating the Escudo up Pikes Peak with anything other than the Cultus or the Escudo itself. I tried for hours to race with the FTO LM and del Sol Lm, but I wasn't even close. I think the Suzuki Cultus PP took me about 15-20 tries to beat the Escudo, and it's a good challenge.

There's a couple of fast GT2 players from the past that may have done it, but I haven't bumped into any thread here or elsewhere by anyone admitting to doing it.

I like having the ghost on translucent, so I can see the corners coming up.

I beat them with the RS200...

Though I didn't do it first time...

Whilst we are on the topic of rallies and ghost options,
what is the difference between all the ghost options. I know 'no ghost' you can't see the car, but the others confuse me, they don't see to change.

Parnelli Bone
It was never said it was normal :) Fully tuned, it's quite a car actually. Though I always found it, sort of...well, just worse than the FTO.

I agree with Parnelli, I think that the only likely way you are going to win on the two last pikes peak races is if you bought one of the 'pikes peak' suzuki racing specials. you would think its kind of an obvious choice, no?

I want proof, Famine. No way you beat it with a normal RS200:odd:

Here's the thread i started on this topic years ago.

Nothing normal about it :D Tuned to the hilt, she was.

Of course this was waaaaaay back before I was even a member of GTPlanet - I think I was frequenting Kenji's old place back then. And I very much doubt I'd be able to repeat the feat, given that I can't put up with the graphics or handling model of GT2 (combined with excessive ring-rustiness). But I think I've built up sufficient reputation here to be cut a little slack - not to mention the feat of beating the proper GT3 PD Cup with a Honda Integra Type-R (which quite a few people think is impossible, but I can prove any time).

This sounds interesting :) Shame that I never knew what the GT3 PD Cup is. What you've just described, is it something like that? If it is, then you're my kind of person :D

Some people here have managed to win Pike's Peak Uphill in an FTO LM....see the link I posted on the previous page above, and read both pages. I forget if AAZ or LeGeNd-1 did it...I know it was one of you guys. Apparently Famine did it in a fully-tuned RS200, as well. And if he says he did it, I believe him. He certainly has the cred.

The PD Cup was a 10-race series of 20-lap races on road tracks with road cars. Unmodified road cars at that...

In essence, yes, the challenge was to beat it in the worst car you could (I also had a challenge for GT3 called "Worst Car Wins", which was the reason I joined GTP in the first place :D ). I went one further and tried to do it with a FWD car. And it wasn't easy!

My times for this should still be available at GTTimes.com...

It's a shame Kenji's site is no longer up. :( I read alot of the old posts there while it was still Gran Turismo Forum, and learned alot. But it is no longer around, apparently. At least, I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
